    1. saxton - has turned ont he class this season 2. Finn - awesome kicking game has been missing from rovers in previous seasons 3. Kain - deadly near the line 3 tries in one half I think Hardman has seemed a little off, or rather less clinical the last few matches, and Steel should have got in for a few more runs like tommy, but overall faultless display, if a little sloppy in the second half but brilliant! well done lads!
  2. I dont know who you are, but your opinions are always well received by me on here Bob all the best.
  3. We wernt far off this last season with harris in the team...
  4. 1. dickens 2. saxton 3. parker (nandye?!)
  5. Quality signing, he'll do well for you I was sad to see him leave.
  6. great idea this. Fans can advertise the matches ourselves, and a quality poster here as well all round pat on the back.
  7. Ha fair enough rover n out it just seemed quite believable given the state of mind of some fans on here that people would be calling for him to go.
  8. Rarefith you need to get back on them valiums mate they are wearing off! The match was utterly rubbish, I think fev lions could have put a better show on, but i felt confident of a win with the squad we had against a leigh team who had a point to prove after last week. We look unsettled and had no answers for a leigh team that played well, and thanks to the fans from batley, leigh and sheffiled who have come on to support us, your showing us a bit of common sense. Powel has shown he is a capable coach. He always 'talks the talk' and i always agree with his post match comments, he seems to know what is not working, so thats a plus. Not sure if he knows how to rectify these issues though but he has this season to prove himself. Some of the new players dont seem to be providing value for money, but then again harris didnt until the last few matchs he was the leagues most expensive water boy! I have high hopes this season still, and even though ive moved into my first house in sheffield and cant even afford a hoover yet ill still be going to at least all the home matches (cant wait to save up for the new shirt!) dont write them off, we should have easilly beaten shefield and with a bit more application we will improve. Kain was poor, had some shockers last season but was still named in our divisions first 13 - we have some quality players with a lot of experience we can still do it!
  9. Madness! Yes that was as bad as we have played in two years but it is one match, with 1 friendly under our belts with half of the team from last season. It will take time to gel and yes I did go to watch it and yes it was absolute ###### but give them a chance! I couldnt take any positives out of it but sack the coach? madness absolute madness! This coud end up giving our players the kick up the ar*e needed early on in the season where they may have become complacent. we are not out of the cup yet...remember Widnes last year were in a similar situation as this and went on to win it for gods sake!
  10. I agree Sidnee but I dont think he lost us the match. He was poor, and inconsistent for both teams but i do think they got a bit lucky with some of the decisions he made. they were consistently offside too. We tried too hard in places, forcing forward passes ect we failed to win that match when we looked in a different league to them for most of it. I was really surprised at how few sheffield fans turned up! Dewsbury and Batley bring about twice as many as that if not 3 times! MOM 1 Kain - flawless match for me tackled his socks off and kicking had really improved 2 saxton caused no end of woes for them 3 morrison - good hands, good angles, lots of effort
  11. I thought the loudspeaker was a big improvement on last season. we could actually hear the names of the players, and the golden gamble number!
  12. I think it will be tighter than this, they are our bogey team and mark aston (?) is a great coach who squeezes every bit of potential out of his players. I think they will have a point to prove after we steamrolled them out of the playoff in which in my opinion was the best match we played last season. However we have improved our depth, they have added to their squad too, its tough! 24 - 12 to fev. But very occasionally i have been wrong. attendance 1100
  13. I think its so rare you see rugby league advertised on tv, i would rather they spend the money on ventures like this then propping up welsh and london clubs.
  14. Come on mate we still point at airplanes over here!
  15. Rubbish! Back tot he drawing board. Bet Tommy haughey plays next match against us and has a stormer - he always plays well against his old teams.
  16. 24 - 6 to Fev...if we put our first team out. Should be a good test for our lads
  17. An outstanding display by a rovers side who has had few friendlies to get into the swing of things. We looked sharp, and alert, and some training ground moves led to some excellent tries well done all round. Well done Morrison impressed me with his handling and determination as did steele and hardman. Dickens was immense, the only fault i can find at this stage in the season is our field kicking was a bit poor.
  18. I think the wet weather will increase ball handling errors on both sides leading to a reduction in points. I also think wet weather suits us better than them...except our PNG pair bet they are gutted coming over here now!
  19. hull 26 fev 12 I would like to be more optimistic but...
  20. I think it seems sensible...a lot of new players and player squeezing into weird positions last year. this is the first real 'powel' squad. I expectd a big shuffle
  21. Martin just to say love your commentary its class! Your in my dads good books for getting your blinds from him after we sponsored the rovers too so you can do no wrong mate.
  22. get turn the page, and weve got tonight by bob seager. class
  23. I agree about allen i wanted a bit more from him today. Though Marabe showed a lot of heart, and JJN (P?) has a neat sidestep that looks like it may unravel a few defenses this season...good hands too from him. Really impressed with some of the tackling especially holding them up over the line...the wrestle room paid off! Manning looked good with good technique and made some yards, and sherife could be a useful addition. Divorty ran well in prop, and fair play to field who looked like he'd never been injured. Too many handling errors made it hard for us...that has to improve obviously.
  24. Not bad Rob, you have better taste in music than you do in shirts...
