Hull had much the stronger team out but fair to say they looked impressive. As for us a lot of kids got some minutes but it wasn’t a completely scratch side all game. Come a fortnights time i’d expect maybe 9 of that side to be in the 17 somewhere.

Don’t blame him one bit but its a blow not just for us but for the British game. He really could become one of those few and far between ‘bums on seats’ players. IMG have got a job on ensuring super league even stays where it is let alone grows. -

Absolutely zero chance of Ossett moving to Belle Vue so we can forget about that one. And from what i understand Wakefield AFC are a financial basket case so that isn’t likely a goer either. Best hope as has been said is either a bigger football clubs reserve team or Womens team but i’m bot sure if any are currently looking. -

It is just the usual standard of Sun reporting. It’s a hybrid Pitch. -
Actually thought last season was one if Childs’ best. He seemed more consistent with his decisions and less inclined to blow for every little infringement. As has been said losing another experienced ref is a blow, especially given Hicks’ new job role will likely mean he’ll be reffing less and less if at all. With Thaler into his 40’s and probably not having long left as a top flight ref there does seem to be a void appearing.

The deal was done at least a month before Chester got the push. Sadly there was no going back. -

No what you want is a more experienced guy, one that Chris Chester has actually signed before. That man is Tom Lineham. He could make a BIG difference for you. Sign him. Please. -

It's nothing but another members scheme, on top of the other member schemes, squadbuilder, commit 6 and god knows how many other schemes the club keep coming up with to bleed the same people dry over and over again. Lets be honest the 'shares' aren't worth the paper they are working on, it's a donation that gets you a couple of very ordinary benefits. If people are happy with that then great, that's their perogative and good luck to them. But lets not tart it up to be something it isn't. -

Can you point me in the direction of any previous pre-season spiel thats anything other that positive?? From any club?? I reckon you’ll struggle! But i can promise you many fans are worried about the strength of the squad even with the reserve grade Kiwi that is linked. Right now we are relegation favourites for a reason. -

Should the Drinkwater to Warrington and MacDonald to Leeds deals get confirmed then there will only be two clubs with any quota spots available i think, Wakefield and Catalan who will both have two places free. Also a lot of clubs sound to be pretty much up to the cap limit. That will seriously limit and future moves. -

I have been to the game today, my son got complementary tickets through work. There was no where near 40K in the ground. Maybe 30K at a push but i’d be surprised at that as well. The announced figure has to include no shows, be those purchases or give aways. -

Cracking away shirt by Wakey. In fact the only thing wrong with it is it should be the home one! -

We'll probably go black & 'gold' for the away kit to complete the set. -

It looks like a Leeds kit end of. I know many of the clubs sycophants would buy a bin bag with a Wakey badge on it but plenty who normally buy shirts won’t and the club will lose out. Hell even sone of the most positive fans don’t like it on the other forum! It’s a poor call and it is far from ‘quality’. And nowhere does it mention navy blue in the records. It mentions black. Thats the club trying to cover their backsides cos they've screwed up that as well. -

It’s not based on history though. Our first kit, which this is supposed to be based on, was a lighter blue and black. And no yellow. So they haven’t even got that right. It’s an abomination of an effort and sales, and as such income, will tank.
