  1. Who wants to see knackered players backing up with a sub-standard performance on Easter Monday? Just because that's what we got used to in the "good old days". We should be aiming for something better than that, even before player welfare comes into consideration. Just sell the hell out of one special "event" Bank Holiday round - we have more than enough regular season fixtures as it is. But the club chairmen will be reluctant.
  2. As Melbourne Storm will confirm, you can get your haircut from Dewhurst's the Butchers as long as you score points. All hail the Hairstyle of the Gods.
  3. Terrible news for him, but he's young enough to bounce back. And if it takes longer than expected, I'm sure Jonny Lomax can have a word with him about how a run of injuries doesn't necessarily mean the end.
  4. Not a classic game by one hell of a long way, so both sides owe us a tight finish.
  5. And now he's had a Mamoment, failing to clear a Sinfield kick (deja vu feeling intensifies), and Rhyse Martin both touches down and converts.
  6. On a Bank Holiday, following two mostly sleepless nights, yes.
  7. Where's this Wests Tigers side been hiding up 'til now?
  8. I'm aware of what they are trying to do, and also their previous attempt at a semi-pro league in the USA.
  9. I admire their long-term commitment. But they've been making a deliberate effort to tap into all that college talent since the mid-Seventies (if not earlier), and remarkably little has come of it.
  10. I saw most of it. Decent game. Mind you Featherstone Lionesses v East Leeds this afternoon was pretty brutal too.
  11. Specialty Records label owner Art Rupe, aged a remarkable 104. Among the talent he brought to the public consciousness, Little Richard, Sam Cooke and John Lee Hooker: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/17/art-rupe-label-owner-who-helped-launch-little-richard-and-sam-cooke-dies-at-104
  12. To quote Ripley, from 'Aliens', "Take off, then nuke the stadium from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
  13. More probably will declare for Samoa, now Parish is gone. Even if his replacement isn't the best choice of coach, that already strengthens the side just in numbers of top players. I'm very much looking forward to see who announces their availability during the remainder of the season.
  14. She could have been brought to a halt easily, or even pulled to the ground once that steward had a grip on her. But to be lifted and then driven that hard into the pitch was grotesque and suggests serious "mummy issues" on the part of the person who did it.
  15. A 2021 list of eligible players, according to the Everything Rugby League site. Soliola's retired since then, Karmichael Hunt surely can't be considered at this stage of his career, and there are a few who may declare for Australia/New Zealand instead. But still, more than a few impressive names there. John Asiata, Payne Haas, Karmichael Hunt, Jamayne Isaako, Richie Kennar, Danny Levi, Anthony Milford, Keenan Palasia, Ben Te’o, Dunamis Lui, Josh Papalii, Iosia Soliola, Christian Crichton, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Ava Seumanufagai, Erin Clark, Herman Ese’ese, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, Sam Lisone, Greg Marzhew, Phillip Sami, Josh Aloiai, Josh Schuster, Toafofoa Sipley, Jorge Taufua, Martin Taupau, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Dean Ieremia, Aaron Pene, Marion Seve, Bunty Afoa, Leeson Ah Mau, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Edward Kosi, Jazz Tevaga, Hymel Hunt, Simi Sasagi, Pasami Saulo, Sauaso Sue, Enari Tuala, Daejarn Asi, Connelly Lemuelu, Francis Molo, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Murray Taulagi, Dylan Brown, Isaiah Papali’i, Junior Paulo, Nathaniel Roache, Stephen Crichton, Spencer Leniu, Moses Leota, Jarome Luai, Tyrone May, Charlie Staines, Izack Tago, Brian To’o, Patrick Mago, Tautau Moga, Jaxson Paulo, Jaydn Su’a, Junior Amone, Poasa Faamausili, Max Feagai, Tyrell Fuimaono, Josh McGuire, Jordan Pereira, Brad Abbey, Isaac Liu, Joseph Suaalii, Tom Amone, Shawn Blore, Michael Chee-Kam, Asu Kepaoa, Joseph Leilua, Luciano Leilua, Ken Maumalo, Thomas Mikaele, Zane Musgrove, David Nofoaluma, Tommy Talau, Daniel Saifiti, Jacob Saifiti, Hamlin-Uele, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Royce Hunt, Franklin Pele
