  1. 11 years of magnanimity, as Wigan let the little teams win for a change.
  2. A discussion and phone-in programme, presented by George Riley and featuring Ian Millward, Luke Dorn and Stewart Pyke. 9:30 'til 10:30. LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION
  3. Snails can be very rubbery, from personal experience. They need plenty of cooking time to soften them up.
  4. Hey, my post was tongue-in-cheek, okay? From what I remember of the story Garry was stitched up more than a bit in his first foray into coaching. Let's hope he can bring the South Africans along a bit.
  5. Surely it'd be more like "Right, hands up anyone from Lancashire or Yorkshire! What, none of you? You shouldn't be playing Rugby League, then. I'd advise you to give up, 'cause it'll never work out."
  6. Reason enough, in that one post, why a time machine absolutely must be invented. That'd be one hell of a team to watch if you assembled them in their prime. Interesting that none of the Wigan selections so far have included Brett Kenny. I remember 2GB had a phone-in on all-time best selections. One guy rang in with his selection for the Hunter Mariners.
  7. Cowboy Junkies - To lay me down Mike Keneally - Lightnin' Roy Dillard & Clark - Don't let me down Danny Gatton - Quiet Village Willie Nelson - Somebody pick up my Pieces Leon Russell - Mystery Train Phish - Swept away Bobby Purify - Nobody's home By the way, there's a fair amount of free Amazon downloads available at the moment.
  8. You can tell he's been doing commentary, can't you?
  9. Plenty of good points there. I remember watching the last Yorks v Lancs/Cheshire/Greater Manchester and it was terrible, with a poor turnout and a mediocre spectacle on the field. Remember, also, that when State of Origin was first suggested, it was derided by just about everyone as a gimmicky concept that would never work. And maybe if that first match hadn't been such a classic, it might have withered away like the War of the Roses. So there's a bit of luck involved, because you can't guarantee a classic match ahead of the event. Failing everything else, get the whole England squad together, appoint two captains and let 'em pick the teams, school playground style. Winner of the coin toss gets first pick, then they alternate.
  10. A little from column 'A', a little from column 'B'. Recent events have shown there is some problem, at whatever level, but he's got a massive chip on his shoulder about not getting to play for the Kangaroos. And he's a rentagob, who can't help shooting his mouth off, whether he has something worth saying or not.
  11. Oh, and check out an old friend of TRL, doing the (track 1) introduction!

I'm looking forward to giving it a spin tonight.
  13. This book might interest you (and others). It covers Spain by region, with stunning photography, interesting stuff about Spanish food and culture, as well as recipes. Borders had some of the 'Culinaria' collection on sale, before they closed down, and I still regret not buying more volumes in the series while they were cheap.
  14. World Party - Rescue me The Bee Gees - Harry's Gate John Philips - Shady They might be Giants - Birdhouse in your Soul Fun Boy Three & Bananarama - It ain't what you do Jerry Burns - Crossing over The Dixie Dregs - Kat Food Van der Graaf Generator - The Hurlyburly
  15. The other thread on Bridge was started only 3 days ago. To be fair, the thread had slipped to page 2, so maybe you weren't to know, but your response was a little paranoid.
  16. A pretty positive piece, considering the subject matter. If you missed it, iPlayer will have it at some point soon - the interview started immediately after the 10 o'clock news.
