England v Australia 2025 - been to the UK!
Just Browny replied to Chris22's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Sounds like a good thing for a strategic review to learn from. Only for a strategic review boss to say his hands are tied and an 8-team play off being the clubs' choice. -
There were adverts for the Ashes matches directly before several episodes of that reality show, probably the most watched show on TV this year. The advertising slot that the BBC uses for all of its biggest TV shows. I understand that's different to cross-promotion (of which there was loads for games 1 and 2) but the BBC havent hidden the rugby away.

That's great. Tbf England have been all over Ince, Scholes, Hindley and even Wigan town centre. -
That's not true, Salford...oh.

They don't have a functioning clock there, but Mick Gledhill manually moves the big hand forward every 60 seconds which gets them the IMG point.

There's no chance is there? Gotta squeeze in that 8-team playoff literally nobody wants. -

I enjoyed him off the Six Nations getting royally shafted. -
Not sure 'agreed' is the right word, your view is far more negative than mine. My community club has played at York Acorn this year and it is a superb club.
-
£1 is pretty feeble but at least the charity amount is clear on the notice.
-
It's fair to question whether York's 'ceiling' is any higher than, say, Huddersfield's, who we can probably all agree are not a RL success story. It's not fair to question their 'tradition' and that point has been rightly trashed. The two things York appear to have in their favour (again, sorry, but comparing to Huddersfield) is a stadium which the Giants would kill for and a progressive and proactive club management, with the club being a pioneer of women's rugby in particular. I've been sucked in to some extent by the newness and ambition, but do think there is a good chance their attendances settle around 2,500 - 4,000, meaning they are not really a SL standard club by any of our normal ambitions or measures.
-
There's probably not a 'bad' way to do it. Toulouse, Montpellier and Carcassonne are all beautiful cities worth visiting in their own right if your preference is to visit France (which would also be mine). Montpellier and Toulouse both a couple of hours away but not difficult by train.
-
We've spent most of the last 4/5 years moaning that the Hoover logo was too garish; now everyone is trying to think of ways to make it more conspicuous. Can't win.
-
I'm surprised the stadium allows them to announce that.
-
Staggeringly bad.

I'd like to see Newman and Burgess get a go this week, with Farnworth swapping sides. Wardle and Johnstone haven't done much wrong but neither has caused the Australians any issues. Both Newman and Burgess bring a bit of something different. In Newman's case, a higher chance of someone getting headbutted. In Burgess's case, he could disrupt the Aussies by warming up in a Tommy Robinson t-shirt. I'd also give Lewis the nod at stand off.

That is courageous. -

Nobody's ever implemented my plan. If the pitch is shorter than the regulation 100m, not only should they shorten all the distances so it looks more aesthetically pleasing, but both teams should be stopped from playing anyone over the height of 5ft8 so it 'looks' correct. -
You don't understand what this thread is about, do you?

Cumbria vs Scotland at Workington. Officially set as a Scotland home game.

He'll face up to any critics by doxxing them on social media.
