I don't mind it at all. Don't the England football team play in white and navy blue? It isn't the most eye popping design and it could probably do with a bit of red piping or detail somewhere. But it's got a chevron on it and it's not a Saints shirt: that ticks a couple of boxes for me. If there was any reason to be confident they were going to stick with a design like this I would be happy enough.

I don't usually squander a chance to have a go at Saints but there is nothing wrong with posting those photos. I think this thread has broadly got the tone right. Wakefield cannot magic a new stadium out of thin air but there's no excuse for making professional rugby players sit on chairs that would have been embarrassing if you had found them in a 1990s scout hut. I just walked around a charity shop that had better gear going for less than £50.

Hello. After a long time away from the north, the family and I are moving to settle in the Elland/Brighouse area in the next couple of weeks. It will be a big change from the last eight years in London but we are looking forward to a lot of extra house space and a bit more greenery on our doorstep. Any tips or suggestions from locals on good places to visit (we have a four year old and a 7 month old) while we get our bearings over the summer? Good pubs or restaurants. Any guidance on pronouncing local placenames would be handy as I'm aware they tend to do it somewhat haphazardly in Yorkshire. Thanks in advance.

A good goal kicker can be worth a couple of league places in the current Super League, there are a few teams with terrible conversion rates. Martin is a very solid player anyway.

Is he well respected? I'm trying to separate my thoughts on him as a Speaker in evaluating the appointment. My impression is of a slightly cartoonish professional northerner who is regularly used as a doormat in the Commons. On the other hand he has a prestigious role, is well known and has genuinely championed RL for many years. On balance I cannot argue with the appointment but given he has openly supported RL for many years already I'm not sure him wearing a new chain around his neck will make much of a difference.
