  1. I liked the idea and at first sight I thought it worked really well in practice as it is. IMO there are too many infringements under the laws of the game where kicking for goal is an option. Big thumbs up from me for the whole thing. As good as could be expected in the circumstances.
  2. My perception of it was that Bailey stayed down because he was too scared to stand up and fight (knowing full well he would have got a pasting) but Radford wasn't going to let chivalry stand in the way of his exacting retribution. I think your last sentence hits the nail on the head. People enjoyed it precisely because it was Bailey receiving his comeuppance. As it happened Bailey came out on top. It left Hull a man down and no way back into the game. Job done.
  3. I remember those enjoyable Wednesday nights watching the 'A' team games at The Boulevard just after the switch to summer rugby. Bell was usually the star of the show. What a player he could have been.
  4. I think that's what Phil Hogan felt like when he tried to stop Woodsy in full flight in the BBC2 Floodlit Final. Looked like he'd been hit by a bus when Rovers' physio Cliff Wallis eventually helped him off the field.
  5. Bailey's face was a picture. If ever a bloke realised he'd picked on the wrong man.
  6. You don't mess with the Wezzie Mafia
  7. I'm struggling with that one TBH and I've watched the game many times over (admittedly with my black and white specs on).
  8. They were both outstanding that day. That's for sure.
  9. First name on the team sheet: Paul Woods: 'Hardest man in rugby league'
  10. Really sorry to hear that. Hope things take a turn for the better.
  11. Granted. Anything's possible at the moment.
  12. Spot on, mate, and if people want an example of whether he has the ability to turn a game around they need look no further than the game in which he won the first of those Lance Todd Trophies. Warrington had it in the bag until his 40-20 turned it on its head.
  13. His debut at Salford was the most accomplished I've seen since Shaul himself at Wakefield in 2013.
  14. It doesn't make sense for lots of reasons. Shaul himself has never expressed any desire to leave that we know of and he is only a couple of years away from qualifying for a testimonial season.
  15. I could scarcely disagree more with your assessment of Shaul's worth to the team but I could live with that if there's any truth in the rumour that Shaul is on his way out. Wynne looked an outstanding talent when he stepped in during Shaul's lengthy absence with concussion last year.
  16. Well chuffed to see a pair of yellow wagtails and a little egret near Faxfleet this morning.
  17. Seem to remember he was a decent larker. All seems a long time ago now.
  18. Superb piece of work. You been taking tips from Old Frightful?
