  1. On my walk just listened to the Nowhere album by Ride Is there a better outro to a song than this? http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=1hlzJi9XCJE Followed it up with the first disc of the Pulse album by Pink Floyd with Sam Brown (always had a thing for her) wailing in the background.
  2. Just bought both those! Not sure though. Listening to this Cat Power stuff now http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=MJfQXS1hKDo&NR=1
  3. Congratulations to all three of you in the ontour family. I am off for a walk with a dog.
  4. I'm back from my stroll in the woods. I met some old folk from Nantucket.......... Do we still have a limerick thread?
  5. Back from the Ikea experience. Absolutely heaving at 1130 on a Thursday morning. On the way home I ate a large slice of quiche lorraine. Yum. Diet again tomorrow then.
  6. I've managed a 10km bicycle ride and a two hour mountain walk today. I am pooped. Off to bed with me then. Good night God bless.
  7. Just had a whole bundle of stuff delivered by those nice people at Amazon (
  8. I am afraid so. I send up many apologies to those who have to view my glorious tush. Currently wearing Fortunately the only ones likely to be glimpsing it are French. I am too scared to cycle in the UK (and some thieving git swiped my bike).
  9. The cycling is going very well so far. I have managed to get out of bed and put the lycra on. Thinking of segueing into some gentle bicycle fettling within the next hour or so. With a bit of luck, rain may then stop play. I'm sure its the same for Lance on his comeback.
  10. This morning I have visited a selection of Chateaux in Margaux and Pauillac. As I am currently barred from taking drink it was a complete and utter waste of time. Apart from the scenery, sense of history, and a cheeky bottle of something for my dad. Bride lands in two hours. Hurray!
  11. Just breakfasted myself on bread, jam and yoghurt. At the next table were seated two English couples straight from a casting session for the remake of Terry and June. French conversation was achieved via the medium of shouting in English with a bit of pointing thrown in for extra marks. Toast was burnt which appeared to be the tragi/comedy happening of the year. And Geoff was told by Angie to moderate his language after spraying himself inadvertently with a sachet of marmalade. Marvellous.
  12. Bordeaux is lovely. The drive through the vineyards of the Graves was beautiful with lots of names redolent with hangovers fondly remembered. I have spoilt it all by staying at a hotel Premiere Classe. My room looks like a Scandinavian prison cell (Shadow may be able to swap notes tomorrow).
  13. I am about to drive to Bordeaux to meet Mrs Timtum who is flying over for the weekend.
  14. The cat owned by my neighbours here rejoices in the name of Tampon. Its the little things in life that make it worth living.
  15. I am sat having my breakfast in the McDonalds just down the road from the Stade Gilbert Brutus. Mrs Timtum is on the morning flight from Manchester. Hurrah!
  16. I am in the Foix branch of McDonalds taking advantage of their free wifi. And of course a Royal Cheese. I stayed in a place called Saintes yesterday which was not full of people sporting the big red Vee but instead had a rather splendid amphitheatre. I strode around saying things like "strength and honour" and asking innocent passers by whether or not they had any military experience until being locked up for the night by the gendarmes.
  17. I've just been signed off again for another two months. They have also given me some metronidazole so going to feel poo and no booze for me for the next 33 days. Off to France to sit on a hill and recuperate.
  18. Welcome back Zoe! In order to get broadband installed at Chateau Timtum I have to visit a France Telecom shop, order, wait, wait some more, revisit shop, wait 12 - 15 days for someone to contact me to make an appointment to install it. I love France. I am sat outside McDonalds in Limoux taking advantage of their free broadband service. Three cheers for Ronald. I have also finished my course of pills and am allowed to drink again from today.
  19. Audois and me went for lunch in Carcassonne yesterday.
  20. I'm off to Liverpool today to see a Professor of bad bellies. Fingers crossed.
