  1. In the moment, to an extent. But Sky will have a tone and direction that they require.
  2. It is always worth repeating on this: what you see on screen, how the people talk, what they talk about, the positions they take - this will all be planned by off screen producers (etc) in line with an agreed template. Wilkin doesn't just get to decide how he's going to talk this week, not if he wants to turn up again next week.
  3. 3,264 saw Derry City fiendishly use their knavish tricks to beat the honourable Bohemians 1-0. Bohemians play Liberec tomorrow in the Czech League.
  4. I think takeover is a terrible idea, although I see why it's enticing. Coproduction and investment specific areas of mutual benefit? All for it.
  5. I think Vegas has helped a bit. I think the work of IMG and others has helped significantly more.
  6. My favourite origin story Was 'Step On' by Happy Mondays inspired by Steve McQueen?
  7. The second biggest thing they could do: fix the World Club Challenge in the calendar. The biggest? Subsidise a Kangaroos tour. The rest is blather.
  8. I’m going to go with accidental double booking.
  9. I’ve said before, with the exception, possibly, of the NWSL in soccer and, maybe, the WPL in cricket, it has to now be ranked as the top women’s sports league in the world. And the exciting thing is that it still at the development stage.
  10. It’s explained on the link. He needs to complete an interview but may not have given himself enough time.
  11. Horse racing gets decent coverage on the radio but that doesn’t seem to be reflected online.
  12. The US is going to need something. Losing to Canada in a hockey match that suddenly acquired a lot of meaning is going to hurt.
  13. Biggest Wakefield home crowd since 2008. 8,065, I think they said.
  14. As I now follow Bohemians Prague because they wear green and their ground is lovely, I now have to follow Bohemian FC of the League of Ireland. Even though they don’t play in green. The opening fixture of this year’s season was played at the Aviva in front of 30,000+. Bohs beating Shamrock Rovers 1-0. I assume, given it was a game deliberately chosen to get the biggest crowd, they would be the two biggest rivals in the league.
  15. The site appears not to be able to handle the traffic?
  16. Nobody is saying otherwise.
  17. The link I read it on had pop ups everywhere so I couldn't really follow it. I presume she would have been aware an investigation was ongoing? Either way, it is all so frustrating.
  18. The charge dates from 2022? Did no one at the RFL not check and ask her to wait a year/few months/some time until it's cleared (assuming it is, which is probably a big assumption)?
  19. I'd expect some kind of promo around the new owners at the home game. If not, then it will all seem a bit strange. But, till then, they don't really need to do much.
  20. One of the IMG partnership arrangements, is IMG providing the platform for clubs, and, indeed, governing bodies, to produce their own quality social media content. We do seem to be getting better at it as a result.
  21. They should but they won't be able to find a rule that would stick and the RFL do not have the funds for the kind of legal advice that would see them win on appeal. We shall see, though. For now, good news for the Salford club and hope they make a decent fist of the rest of the season.
  22. https://www.salfordreddevils.com/club-statement-2/
  23. When it was announced they made some talk about the players being drawn from Moroccan clubs.
  24. Except, especially in Trinity's case, that is very much not what is being said. He's saying they would have spent money completely differently without the grading framework. Degsy says the challenge posed by IMG was the catalyst - as as showman he'd probably always have done something, but it wouldn't have been that and it needn't have been then. So, we have their words, and their actions.
