  1. If you like Roots reggae then this is as good as it gets in 2023
  2. Burning Spear just called off his UK tour. I was looking forward to finally seeing him in Manchester.
  3. Of course we all know that they are still going, but this popped up on my Yoochoob thing
  4. You're a massive wind up merchant and you can't even spell Featherstone. Your presence here is always negative.
  5. Great thread. I remember the Duchess of York in Leeds, it was such a good venue. I saw loads there but Ian McNabb stands out. Fibbers in York was a good one - is that still a thing? Right in the city centre. Martin Stephenson and the Dainties used to like that stage. The Royal Court in Liverpool - is that still alive? The Icicle Works played for about 4 hours there one night because they were having such fun. The Town and Country in Leeds (now O2) has seen some great gigs (Decemberists, Wedding Present and Van Morrison are my highlights). My favourite gig of all time is the Hothouse Flowers at St George's Hall in Bradford, about 1991? Is that venue still alive?
  6. How did Wolfie get on at the disciplinary?
  7. You are right mate, it was really odd and I've never seen a collision like it, but it was still an awful challenge. Glad you won today though, as are most of us on here.
  8. Fozzard is busy on Twitter trying to make a name for himself but it's going to backfire. He's as thick as a submarine door.
  9. RL is only newsworthy if it's negative story.
  10. Hard to watch that, it's an absolutely shocking 'tackle'. Red card and a long spell on the sidelines. Fair play to Myler for not staying down.
  11. Huddersfield have all the skills but no one with genuine pace. I think that has been the difference in the two games we've played each other this season.
  12. Pied wagtails and mistle thrush are common on our cricket club outfield (Alwoodley CC), maybe because there's a beck running along one side and we are surrounded by trees. I regularly see grey wagtails in the beck and never fail to be utterly delighted by them. I have noticed a drop in lapwings further up towards Harewood but they do tend to come and go. Not seen a blackcap for a long time, they used to be an ever-present on my garden feeders.
  13. No probs mate, I wasn't trying to annoy you. It would be boring if we all liked the same music and supported the same team
  14. I have two that really make me want turn the radio off and are probably irrational, but I hear them too often. One of them is on the traffic news, usually radio 5 live, when they say "The accident has now been moved onto the hard shoulder". You can't move an accident! The second is an advert for a cruise ship company when they say "you can literally touch the view". You can't touch a view!
  15. I get a lot of people sending me new music to try out and I get some of it, but dislike a lot of it. I obviously understand that we all have different taste (life would be boring if we didn't). This stuff (pigs pigs etc), however, is beyond my comprehension. I can listen to most music and even if I don't like it, I can get why some folk do. I don't want to be rude as I get that people will hate the stuff I post, but... but... but... it's just really weird. I'd love to know what it is about pigs pigs etc that people like.
  16. I know I'm a saddo Dad of teenage boys and that musical taste is varied, but please explain this to me. I'm genuinely interested, I'm not taking the ######.
  17. One of my favourite ever live bands. They put on a proper show every time and make you feel part of it.
  18. Grow up John and show some humility. You embarrass your fellow fans.
  19. Sat in my kitchen watching the cricket on my laptop, the bi-fold doors are wide open and the blackbirds are singing their hearts out. I can't think of a nicer sound. I refill 4 bird baths/bowls every day, which they really seem to need at the moment. If you only put out food, please put out water too, even if it's just in a bucket or a plant pot.
