Chris " Percy " Percival has sadly lost his battle with Throat Cancer. Not sure how old he was, but he must have been mid 30's. He was part of our 2001 Promotion winning Team, and played a couple of years in Super League for us. R.I.P. Percy.

Clubs at all levels of the sport will be able to apply for funding for a variety of projects, including improvements to existing venues and the construction of new facilities. RFL chief executive Nigel Wood said: "The improved financial environment for the sport means that, for the first time, the RFL will be in position to offer some limited practical help as opposed to merely insisting on minimum standards and leaving clubs to find solutions." I agree, and think Wigan, Wire & Saints will be rubbing their hands at the thought of 2,000 travelling Widnes fans rather than a couple of dozen from London or France.

Personally i can't see them dropping more than one Club.

At the end of the day Widnes are doing what has been asked of them. Qualifiying on the field, via the NR Cup. Strengthening their Junior structure etc. People keep saying it's what happens on the field that should count, and Barrow and now Fev should be promoted, but that's not how Licensing works. If you don't agree, don't moan about Widnes, blame the RFL.

I agree Terry, but those are the cards we have been dealt in this Division. It's ok for those Clubs who were already in Super League, they had a head start. Why do you think Widnes put all it's eggs in one basket in 2007 to gain promotion. Unfortunatly it back fired. Once in Super League you had a much easier chance of staying there........

Exactly. We are very lucky at Widnes, and i feel for other Clubs, but such is life........

They beat Widnes 38-0 today so are obviously ready. Give 'em a License...........

Exactly. I was purely reporting what i'd read, but get classed as an outcast. Fans of other Clubs just want an excuse to have a go at Widnes fans, but we don't care.............
