  1. what do you base that male genitals on?
  2. so 2 seasons ago the broncos never took Skolars head coach & half the squad and no help to back fill at all. also what about the masses of Skolars juniors who have gone to the broncos over the years and ended up in the first team. comments like that really PMO!
  3. the RFL have been very passive in this. no help or anything other than sympathetic words. no urgency and no Taskforce or support to fix things. broncos have a huge amount of blame to take for this. their relationship with Skolars has been one way traffic over the 28 years and poaching the clubs coach and half the squad just after covid was shocking and disgusting and impossible to recover from.
  4. its hotels and the 4 stay overs that hurt. also remember if you have a stay over you have 2 days of the coach and probably have to have 2 drivers plus hotel for them and the full squads. meals as well. Thats your central funding gone in 2 games
  5. given the amount of complaining they used to do for having to come to London once a year (versus Skolars did it every other week the other way) maybe they wont worrly. maybe its a case of you didnt know what you had until you lost it
  6. This is the right thing for the club. L1 isnt really viable for a none heartlands team with only £15k of central funding. a cumbrian game costs nearly £7k all in. next season 2 cumbrian games, Newcastle and Cornwall all stay overs with hotel plus all the other travel and wages just make no sense. The club also has some strong branded events with good revenue streams. Friday night lights and capital challenge. also all its community work. it also has a club house as well to generate income. Plus some decently well off alumni like me who can help out. The opportunity is to keep some of the standards of the semi-pro club and bring those to the SCL. Add some interesting teams for FNL & CC and hopefully get a challenge cup spot. Thats a nice 17 game season. Continue on the stadium pitch. The income the club can generate can mean they can teat players well, get good coaching, look after players with kit packages, proper coaches for travel and good physio and medical cover plus access to a decent gym. If done right they could have a very strong and professional amateur set up. Fans wise yes its disappointing the club wont play in L1 but on the flip side it will ternate more local rivalry and hopefully the club can win more than they lose and become a force similar to how it used to be before it joined the pro leagues. build strong foundations then see how L1 develops and relaunch into the semi pro ranks if it makes sense if not thrive in the SCL and its marquee games That to me is a strong vision.
  7. its pretty much always been a good night and I havent missed many
  8. what were the crowds for both games over the weekend?
  9. no I said local amateur recruitment. think the club has been good at junior pathways and feeding In and taking the next level academy lads, but agree the amateur open age game has been neglected
  10. think having a great bloke who knows the north is ideal for Skolars. they will need to add players from the north to compete and thats what they are missing. London knowledge there are a ton of people around
  11. dont know how as I was negotiating with the Skol brand head in their HO in Brum many moons ago. no local rep involvement. someones telling you porkies
  12. I think it's the right approach. club and international. seems that region is developing well
  13. Maybe they found out he was a Londoner?
  14. close result for skolars have they turned a corner. Som loanees from Giants made a difference?
  15. that's fair enough. I do tho think one thing Skolars have missed over the years is offering that pyramid for senior amateur players. I think junior ones coming out of London academy is fine and can go to the Champ or L1. as Basset shows there is many players who could have stepped up to L1 and then more over the years. however any relationship has to be one that benefits both clubs and not just take. sorry you had that experience
  16. have hope change takes time and any progress really comes down to money and investment. foundations are there to build on. lets see Richard
  17. I was involved with Skolars for 25 years and I dont recognise this at all. first up I cant remember anytime the club tried to poach a cohort from greenwich. also I pushed coaches for years to get out and scout & no one ever did eventhough I personally always thought there was tons of talent out there in the amateur game. so I cant refute your specific claims but its something I dont recognise and I was around the club longer than anyone.
