Interesting that the Sunday night game was far and away the most popular. I can't see the clubs involved having that much impact - are we (or Sky) missing a trick by not filling this slot regularly. Although I accept that it is a poor time to actually attend a game.

God no. Far from it. All of the other top teams have obvious weaknesses that would be addressed were it not for the salary cap. Leeds at prop, Wigan at half, Saints down the left, Hull at coach - I can't see where that is at Wire. I suppose that they just need to learn to win.

PMJ - you talk of hard work in the off season - but seriously, what can Smith do? I can't see any weak link in the team (Mathers has been OK for you, but is being replaced) so strengthening may be difficult. Every other top team, I can see how they'd improve with a couple of players, but most if not all of the Wire team seem to be at the same level and you can't replace them all. Is it a mental problem? That could be tough to sort out.

Because the camera work is so good, we watch it at home.

After the superb camera work on Nathan Brown, it is clear that the Aussies are seriously lacking on this front. I don't see us ever losing the camera Ashes.

We used to have contested scrums, but it was felt that they wasted too much time and the specialists required were not always able to hold their own in open play. We could do without them as a form of restarting, but the attacking opportunities that having twelve forwards all in one place are good for the game. Compared to Union, there is less need for specialists for the set plays (short, fat lads and big, tall lads). Naturally, without these extremes, the players do look more similar, but the differences are there and are just as necessary - they are just more subtle. Having said that, stand Lewis Moody and Mike Tindall next to each other and tell me if there is much difference in size. How are you enjoying your introduction to tries?

Not at all. I feel for the bloke, but ultimately, he compromised his body-shape and put himself at risk to perform a foul - one which ultimately won his side the game. Only he knows if it was worth it.

If only he hadn't have tried to cheat.

It's this type of thing that could really make this club. If they hold on today, all 700 will return to Wales and tell their mates what a fantastic day out they've had - and that can only be good. Others will soon want a part of that.
