  1. Have you been giving the locals matches to play with again? Stick with giving them shiny beads next time.
  2. Oh great another newly qualified driver lose on the roads....don't forget your P plate Congratulations
  3. Sort of a pick and mix off the various versions on the internet....and is all written down at home so I can't remember specifics Basics = garlic, celery, onion, parsley, potatoes, chick peas, fennel, tomato Fish - to be decided depending on fish counter at Tesco as no decent fish shops near us. After my recent trip to Valencia it seems with seafood paella and that sort of thing pretty much anything goes from a mixture of white fish, prawns and shell fish, squid of various forms and pretty much anything thats get caught in a net while out fishing. Some receipes suggested chorizo, others didn't so I still need to make my mind up on that. Personally I love chorizo and would put it in everything, but not sure if it would be too much for this dish.
  4. I shall be cooking a Spanish fish stew on Sunday for my wife's birthday.
  5. My air conditioned office is so cold I may have to start bringing a jumper to work. Nice hot soup for lunch again today.
  6. Perhaps a suitable SAM (not the DIY fella on here) would sort this problem. Hopefully they will not return fire if you miss.
  7. Not sure exactly what you do but I think it is geek work of a sort. If you can figure out a way to make all our pathetic 3 year old Dell laptops work at anything slightly faster than snail pace that would be superb. We have approximately 100,000 employees globally so the support required might be substantial. We are due new laptops soonish (rebranded IBMs, can't remember the make) but until then people are being driven mad by these ###### machines. We recently upgraded to Office 2007 which has pretty much killed most people's laptops. On the plus side we now have plenty of time for coffee breaks while the computer tries to open a word document or something equally as complex...
  8. It those Fairtrade farmers out on a jolly spending their extra cash and neglecting their coffee plants
  9. Sorry to hear that. I think a lot of people on here have been affected. The company my wife worked for has been around since 1862, things not looking good for them.
  10. My wife was made redundant yesterday - thank you very much Mr Brown for the lovely recession.
  11. So Ray was a murderer and committed suicide, aren't these considered big negatives when applying to go to heaven? ...otherwise thought it was a good ending, although I prefered Life on Mars
  12. I would suggest you try a custard apple instead a far superior fruit. Various varieties to try and all very tasty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherimoya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Custard-apple
  13. Is a sense of humour and some common sense too much to ask?
  14. Pork belly should have a nice crispy top, with melt in the mouth meat underneath if cooked properly. Stringy meat with a thick layer of soft fat deserves to be sent back and the chef sent back to cooking school. Also sounds like they have been sourcing very cheap meat and not decent cuts, there is pork belly and there is tesco value pork belly.
  15. Very nice cars indeed, my wife has had a couple of Skodas, both very good cars. I was tempted by the company car option and would have had a flasher car (choice of Audi, BMW, Merc or VW) but decided to let them buy me a car to keep instead. With 0% finance over 2 years it was a no brainer.
  16. Ouch I had a similar experience in Corfu riding one of those things while wearing short trousers, my knee was a right mess, thankfully some kind local gentleman invited me into his house to wash the worst of the blood off then sprayed my knee with this orange stuff (I like to think it was some sort of antiseptic spray, but it may well have been left over paint).
  17. If I didn't have the confirmation letter signed by HR I would have been a little sceptical too.
  18. I've just been told I am being promoted effective 1st April. Bit chuffed at the moment Champagne will be on ice as soon as I get home tonight
  19. Could not agree more, so many uses and all of them delicious
