  1. 4th highest crowds this year. That absolutely makes them one of out best supported clubs, which is what you said they weren't.
  2. A few of us are going, family and friends. 6 booked so far, with a few more to tag on if Warrington make it there again. Loved it last year, and after a few years of not going it rekindled my enthusiasm for the London weekend, whether I am going as a neutral or not.
  3. Yes they are. They are absolutely one of our best supported clubs. What are you talking about?
  4. But surely if this very easy fix is implemented then it isn't an issue? This is particularly relevant for the Aussie and SOO stuff, as many people are at work (where they like to use this forum) and still want to find out what is going on, but not about particular games. If the solution is that people need to stay away until they have seen the game, then this board will be pretty dead at times.
  5. I always like this website for looking at stadiums and capacities etc. Not all grounds, but pretty interesting, and has plenty of grounds I have never heard of. The French pages are good too. www.worldstadiums.com
  6. It would be interesting to know if there are any stats out there comparing stoppages, between the NRL and SL. Even something as basic as differences in penaltyt counts in the two leagues would be interesting, does anybody have anything. I don't disagree with your overall point, my comments were purely aimed at Friday's game, which was abit of a freak one tbh in terms of turnovers, and there was also a relatively high penalty count (from memory). One interesting (or not) point on this is that all NRL games have the VR, and this generally slows games down a fair bit, the Sky games generally last a good 5-10m longer than a non-tv game, so in terms of intensity and pace of the game, I wonder how long the average NRl game goes on for.
  7. Just looking around the stadium has a capacity of 3,500 with 612 seats. Is it you who says that Leyton Orient could be a good base, as their stadium looks quite ok with a decent capacity?
  8. It depends what you look for. Westwood was excellent on Friday and would have got my vote, but then a fair few of the forwards on each side had good games, especially when you look at how much defence each team had to do and some of the big hits that were going in. The main difference though was when Briers did get involved things happened, and without him, we may have struggled to score, so you could say he was the difference. Briers certainly wasn't the best player on the park, his pass to Mathers for Richards' try was not up to his usual standard and look what happened, his kicking from deep was very poor, and tbh I commented that he looked injured and he only got involved when he had to. That said, his short kicking game was outstanding, and there was a spell late in the first half when he was terrorising the Wigan defence with the little kicks, which very nearly led to three tries. The fact is that we could have this debate after every match where a forward doesn't get the award. They do far far more work than the backs and you could always put a case forward for a hard working 2nd rower.
  9. I think that new Saints logo is really rather nice.
  10. Tomkins being dirty. Morley being dirty. Empty seats in the Wire end. Empty seats in the Wigan stands. Town populations (Wire can't even finish in the top 4 of that!). Late challenges on passers. Late challengers on kickers. Warrington born fan supporting Wigan. Pies. Think that covers it.
  11. Couldn't agree more. I didn't see the ref as a big issue, I saw the forward's ball control as the big issue and the main factor that made the game stop-start. When the players kept hold of it they did some good stuff, but the retention was appalling from both sides at different stages of the game.
  12. Yep, I'm aware of the tactics they used for the Quins game, and have been extremely impressed with the back-room staff at Wigan, my comments were purely based on a post6 about empty seats in the Wire end. Bot sets of fans got behind the game and the concept, and I don't think either club deserves criticism for getting the largest regular SL crowd of the year.
  13. Perhaps we should wait and see the make-up of the team's sqads for next season before we criticise them.
  14. It's probably been a few weeks since I agreed with you, but the above is an excellent post, and I couldn't agree more.
  15. Yes, apologies I was referring to their KR stadium and even if they stayed there it shouldn't over-ride everything else that is good about the club.
  16. Yep, was pleasantly surprised with the Saints crowd, especially when they have already had 5 lower crowds than the game against Quins, which is probably quite unusual. I know Warrington make a bit of an effort for games like the Quins and Cats games, with more promotion and offers, and it does make you wonder why they don't do it more regularly. I assume that Saints did something different for this game with regards the promotion, although as you point out, it may have just been the day the game was played.
  17. Why should any club be kicked out due to one piece of criteria? They will rightly lose that point, however they are still in a better position than many other clubs, based on support, turnover, capacity, on-field, youth etc.
  18. I genuinely think this game has made you crack up a touch! Any chance of backing up some of the above? What did I spot about Tomkins? These were my comments about Tomkins: Must admit I wasn't happy with that at the time, I was just relieved he wasn't hurt. then: I don't think it was great, and at the time (with beer and 3D goggles on) I was calling for him to be binned, but then I do think the slow motion replays make it seem worse. It was more the lateness for me, as I don't necessarily think he attacked Myler's head on purpose, although that was the outcome. I would expect a warning about future conduct tbh. followed by: As for Tomkins, like I said earlier, I was disappointed with it, and I didn't think there was any need, but let's see what the panel do, and I will accept that. So from the above, how are your comments about me spotting Tomkins all manner fo dirty deeds? Seriously you need help, as you are reading stuff that isn't there. Simply because we had a disagreement about Morley and a previous incident, you are too stubborn/stupid to have a sensible conversation about anything else, although that hardly worries me. As for your pathetic comments about not attending games, I have addressed them elsewhere, and the point certainly isn't worth going over twice.
  19. I agree with the principle of the rest of your post, although not really sure what you are talking about here. It wasn't 1 man who bank rolled the Wire project. It is also longer than 5 years. Our first game was played there almost six and a half years ago.
  20. Ah, with you now. I think at times they held on the same angle for a little too long, and I wonder whether that was simply due to lack of experience with the new technology. Some of the angles didn't work, some were weird, but overall, I thought they were very good once you got into it. Yep, I do agree with that, and I suspect that I was out with a couple of people in a busy lively bar reduced the commentary impact, but moving forward I would definitely ask for the correct commentary.
  21. Not that this post is worthy of a reply, but simply to highlight how stupid your post was, here goes. I live in Edinburgh however still have a season ticket so the club gets my money. I have attended several games this year at considerable expense, and attended my last game just a couple of weeks ago in Wrexham. Try reading some of the threads instead of looking to make racist remarks to the Aussies or being a smart-###### and you will see me commenting on plenty of games I attend. Hope that's okay with you, let me know if not. So what are your thoughts on 3D RL, or are you just here to sidetrack threads you are clueless about? Seriously, why did you post on this thread?
  22. Thanks again for your expert analysis.
  23. Ha ha, you are showing yourself up big time! You love to come on here all high and mighty, yet as soon as you lose a game, you act like a little girl. Where have I squealed like a pig? Seriously, quote me, as you are almost as mental as Paris and Lobby - I must admit to wondering whether you are all the same person! You love to make out everyone else is a ##### and against your beloved Cherry and Whites, when in fact, you are clueless, and prove it time after time, despite very rarely giving your opinion in favour of attacking posters.
  24. Well, thanks for your post but it is completely irrelevant to the thread. I assume you went to the match, so haven't seen 3D RL. Why did you feel it necessary to post such a ###### opinion on it? Not everyone wanted to go on Friday, or indeed could attend, so your comments weren't really useful when discussing 3D. Wonder if some 3D abuse will come my way now.
  25. Couldn't agree more with this, and love the fact that fans on here stilllove to rip him to pieces. His pace and energy around the middle of the park is a breath of fresh air for us! Last night, had he had teh odd bounce he would have had a hat-trick.
