  1. Saw him in a shop in Bath a couple of months ago. Had a pleasant chat with him.
  2. The same probably applies for this one, too: http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/RMSBINADT0S6S

  8. How the rollercoaster one stayed harnessed defies all laws of physics.
  9. Tuna isn't the greatest fish to work with, I find it has little taste and the texture a little powdery.
  10. Yes. I was struggling to think of a fish that had sufficient flavour to be an effective standalone. My template was Paella, but didn't have the inclination to buy all the bits (and wanted it quick). I think Kedgeree has far more 'bits' in it.
  11. Haddock risotto. Never thought of putting the two together before now. Added a dash of cream, bloody lovely.
  12. It does make you wonder what part psychology played in the non-performance of these established players. Was it a case of previous experiences having a negative impact on their performances?
  13. If Sinfield doesn't play, where does the kicking game come from? For mine, Tomkins has to play in the halves. Putting him at fullback, isolates far too much. As has been mentioned, he would get pinpointed and all the traffic would be put at him, rendering him knackered and ineffective. In an ideal world, a structured, organising scrum half would be an ideal foil. The only one I can think of is Deacon, it would certainly address the kicking game also, but is this a retrograde step too far?
  14. My team: Warrington 2nd: Cas. The only reason I can think of is their ethos of playing attacking rugby, regardless. Added to that, their ability to produce players despite it's small population. Australia: Brisbane. I remember getting hold of some videos of SOO and seeing Wally Lewis, with what appeared to be around four players tackling him walk towards the line and somehow, work his arm free and plonk the ball down whilst being upright. Wow! I temporarily transeferred to Gold Coast with Wally, especially so when he returned to paly a game in a helicopter landing on the pitch. I just thought 'what a cool b@sta@rd'
  15. I feel a little sorry for Moran in this. Only one facet is seen in his investment; transfer fees. What isn't seen is his investment (and I put that loosely as our income streams are quite good) in bringing in John Bastian to head up and co-ordinate the junior set-up. An additional physio, a nutritionist (only had one for the past 12 months) or another person to do the stats/video analysis. I think Tony Smith has been a watershed to Moran, investing in the infrastructure is as important, if not moreso than focussing solely on the first team. That is also my impression that Leneghan has at Wigan. If there are players who are available and would benefit the club and the coach has expressed a desire to have them; go and try to sign them, but not at the expense of the overall infrastructure.
  16. You will have to expand on this paragraph. How would SL be able to attract players from a competition that has far greater wealth, as a collective sport as well as individuals involved. If it came to a peeing up the wall competition between SL, NRL and RU Sl's level would be by far the lowest.
  17. I think Mo can be summed up as thus; his ability to be a front-end man, nodding in the right places and saying the right things, he is without peers. Which, at the time of Murdoch's money coming in, is exactly what the game needed. A day-to-day astute business man, pushing the game forward at club level; not the man for the job. When he comes into a situation he is like a beath of fresh air, with smiles all round. When he leaves, he appears to leave with a bit of a mess behind.
  18. Ah, Station Road, the home of horizontal rain. Never have I been soaked to the skin with a coat on.
  19. In fairness, in the tight games lost the deciding factor has been goal kicks on a couple of occasions. Hodgson will address that, hopefully.
  20. The Warrington selections do baffle me. Paul Wood has played consistently well, on a par with Morley and Westwood and certainly better than Carvell. I do wonder what the people selecting these squads base their decisions on.
  21. Mathers, playing as a an attacking pivot has been our undoing on a few occasions, see last night for reference. His ability to stop players grounding the ball over the line is second to none, but the way we have played with him coming into the line as an attacking half as been very hit and miss. It seems when the pressure is on to make the absolute right decision, it just doesn't happen.
  22. To the Wiganers condemning the Salary Cap, you do realise SL was under the stewardship of Lindsay when it was introduced.
  23. Plenty of rain over the past couple of hours in Warrington, though nothing like what occurred at KR last week. I think the wet ground, making for a slower game will suit Huddersfield more than Warrington, leaving nothing more than a score, maybe two in it.
