  1. And indeed, if that were to be the case, we would not be. Sadly for you and others, it isn't the case.
  2. Thanks Adey, you beat me to it and i couldn't have said it better myself. Yet more lazy, unsubstantiated muck-throwing from someone who can't even be bothered to do a bit of research - although, that would probably be because he knows it would totally counter his point.
  3. An understandable reaction from many and i would agree to a certain extent, although having said that, the majority of the visits this bus is making are to areas within the Bradford district. It might also shock people to know that people from Bradford do also go to places like Batley and Birstall to shop or in the case of Junction 27, eat, spend leisure time, go to the Showcase etc (and i'll get the dig in before anyone else does - yes this is because the centre of Bradford is an absolute **** hole!), so i can also understand the club trying to reach a potential customer base in places like this. However, the Bulls are not forcing this product on anyone are they? Has it occurred to anyone that as part of the analysis the Bulls have done on their customer database they have noticed that they have a number of lapsed supporters from these areas? I know that as part of this drive to bring back the fans, the Bulls have done a lot of research into lapsed season ticket holders, looked at fans who have perhaps bought tickets on a sporadic basis i.e. attended the 'big games' etc. Maybe as part of that, it has become apparent that we have a fan base in these areas that we are not fully tapping into and the club feels it is worth engaging with these people. It may seem cynical, and there may be some cynicism on the part of the club, i don't know but i do also feel there are other factors at play here, although that won't sate the resentment that some people seem to harbor towards the Bulls. To me, the simple fact is the club has a need to draw back as many of those fans who have had some attachment to the club in the past or present as they possibly can. If some of those fans are outside the Bradford boundary and in sufficient numbers that it is worth investing resources in trying to reach them, then so be it. Incidentally, i remember going to Dewsbury a few years back to watch the Bulls play a pre-season friendly. At the time, the Rams were pushing their own cheap season ticket deal and on that particular evening, they cleverly adapted their marketing to target the Bradford fans stating how good the deal was; so good in fact that in addition to having a Bradford season ticket it would be worth our supporters also buying the Rams ticket and going to watch them when Bradford games didn't clash. It worked; me and my partner's dad bought one, went to as many Rams games as we could take in that season and still do to this day. I didn't feel defiled by the process, i didn't feel that this offer had been foisted upon me and that i had no chance to resist this slick marketing campaign or that the money was literally being lifted from my wallet against my will. The boot may have been on the other foot, the "small club" touting to the "big club's" fans (i say that with the greatest respect) but the principle is the same. Clubs owe it only to themselves to make their business commercially viable. I wouldn't wish to see that happening to the detriment of others but i think there is more to the Bulls targeting these areas than some simple desire to try to rope the Batley fans away from the Mount.
  4. I believe that to be right, which is why we have replaced Sheriffe "absolute ######", with Raynor "######". I'd been looking for words to adequately sum up Bradford's release/recruitment of players for next season so far and that really helped, cheers!
  5. Bradford to lose by 16, with a crowd of 6100 approx announced (and nearer to 4000 actually there in reality).
  6. Would be reasonably impressed if any of those came to fruition and the home kits would be an improvement on this year's effort whichever variation was put out. However, this site seems to be one man having a crack at re-designing club kits rather than anything that has been officially drawn up by the club or the kit manufacturer. Edit: Amber beat me to it!
  7. If his appointment was to a state Primary or Secondary, he could have been appointed anytime up to the end of that school's summer term (generally around 15th or 22nd July this year) given that, as i understand it, he was full time coach at Barrow and not working at another school. Had he been working at another school at the time of his appointment, he would have had to have been offered and accepted the role by Easter.
  8. Child has too often been at the centre of this sort of 'controversy' for my liking and i've said it before and i'm sure i will say it again; too often he is a major influencing factor (or rather his performances are) on a result, more so than the players he is refereeing. NB: That is not me saying he is bent, rather implying that his own poor interpretation of the rules and moreover his bafflingly inconsistent application of them have a detremental effect on the quality of most of the games i have watched him ref since he came onto the SL scene particularly.
  9. I see, so because the Souths bill Burgess as a 'star' on their website and the Aussie media are in love with him, that is irrefutable evidence that Sam has only become a good player because of the NRL and the move he made to play there? Absolute rubbish, like most of the stuff you post on here. Not wishing to get too personal but it is increasingly hard to take anything you post on here seriously PS due to the way you either completely sensationalise your point (i guess in your own eyes it makes it more valid) or in some cases completely make up issues that are complete non-stories i.e. the Menzies contract (or lack of it) at Bradford. In the case of Burgess, having seen a number of Souths games this season, he is doing nothing different to what he was doing at Bradford most weeks (except for the short period where his mind was obviously on the move and not on the Bulls). A very good player with the potential to only get better and better; always has been, always will be regardless of whether he plays in the NRL or the Super League.
  10. Far from being "###### off", Menzies has stated that he understands Bradford's need to look at the market and that despite that he would still re-sign for the club if they end up coming back to him and making him an offer for next season - "no grudges" being the exact phrase he uses in the interview he gave to the T & A. However, i realise that some posters on here don't put much store in what people actually say and would rather prefer to make up something that suits they're own agenda so on that basis - Menzies is currently on strike and refuses to play in any of Bradford's remaining games this season in protest. Anyway, off to Saints now, look forward to coming home later to read this thread and finding out that Menzies is now suing the club for constructive dismissal and has outspokenly criticised the Board and Management at Bradford in his post-match interview.
  11. Absolutely worth it; having been to both the CC and Grand Final to watch my team and having seen us win and lose in both, i can say that the joy and pain of winning/losing either were equal IMO. Not withstanding all of the above, no matter who you're watching in either final both are a damned good day out and great showpiece occasions for our sport.
  12. Hoping any Bradford game would be played on a Saturday otherwise this is a complete no go for me unfortunately. The work i do would really mean that expecting me and my family to travel home on a Sunday evening after the game and then do a day's work on the Monday would be a complete no go sadly. I know we have to try a different approach to making this venture successful and so i wish the RFL every success but i'm already feeling a slight pre-emptive peev coming on thinking that there is a likelihood that i may miss our first game of the season. I realise this is a bit of a negative rant but i genuinely hope the weekend is a success. If it is and we finally put down roots for the Magic Weekend in Cardiff, i just hope the RFL rotates the schedule of games over the weekend from year to year to account for those who can't book the Monday off but would still like to enjoy the event even if it is only on one of the days!
