  1. Salford City Reds 16-4 Harlequins RL after 48:00 minutes. Holdsworth nails the penalty conversion to go out to 4/5 and more importantly he'll put a two score gap between the sides.
  2. Just minutes in at the start of the second half and once again the Harlequins indiscipline will see Holdsworth line up the extra two points, which he just pushes wide so a massive let off for the visitors. Still 14-4 and from the restart Rob Purdham is called over by referee Bentham as yet again another penalty is given away by Quins and Holdsworth will once again line up the extra two.
  3. The hooter goes and at oranges it's the scoreline of Salford City Reds 14-4 Harlequins RL. Salford well worth the ten point lead, despite a shakey start.
  4. Lucky escape for Salford as O'Callaghan (not John) scores for Harlequins despite the the Salford players pleas for a knock-on and after a brief consultation with the in-goal official and touch judge the try won't stand and we'll all come back for the knock-on. Half-time is three minutes away.
  5. Ellis for Harlequins on the power play trys to do a Jimmy Lowes going over from dummy half but some courageous Reds defence will wipe out any chance of a score which the Willows home support applauds.
  6. Salford City Reds 14-4 Harlequins RL after 25:00 minutes. Harlequins just caught out by referee Bentham for laying on as an ironic cheer emanates from the Shed and Holdsworth will gladly step up to extend the Salford lead out to ten points with the easy shot at goal.
  7. Salford City Reds 12-4 Harlequins RL after 23:00 minutes. Harlequins have made some pretty poor options with the ball in hand as a pass from Randall finds touch and from the scrum Matty Smith will extend the home sides lead. Holdsworth 2/2
  8. Salford City Reds 6-4 Harlequins RL after 16:00 minutes. Instant reply from Harlequins following some enterprising play down the right hand side involving Sharp which sees Rob Purdham cross the Salford white wash to near silence.
  9. Salford City Reds 6-0 Harlequins RL after 11:00 minutes. Holdsworth with a killer pass to Swain deep in the Harlequins twenty sees the City Reds take a somewhat shock lead here after the opening ten minutes have seen something of an lethargic start by the home side. Holdsworth converts the straight forward conversion from bang in front 1/1.
  10. Jodie Broughton brings down Jones-Bishop 20m out from the Salford line following a stampeding run by Clubb and on the last tackle Gibson takes the troublesome last tackle kick from Luke Dorn. Early let off for the City Reds. Seven minutes gone.
  11. Well can I just say for the benefit of Tony XIII who'll be reading this, the Willows looks very idyllic tonight with the clear sky and the sun setting to my right as Salford & Harlequins get ready to kickstart round twenty this evening. Perfect conditions for Rugby League football.
  12. This is the game of which club has the most players out injured. Bradford: Scruton, Donaldson, Sculthorpe, Crookes, Orford, Reardon & Wardle. Hull FC: Calderwood, Horne, Long, O'Meley, Moa, Fitzgibbon. No doubt about it Hull are looking a tad bare in the forward department and from what I was told last night by the bloke who does the KCFM coverage, Hull will struggle in the halfs as that's where the problem lies eg: lack of creativity etc . . . . I still fancy Hull, the past six weeks I've seen us ship in more tries then the BP leak has leaked barrels of oil.
  13. Well I've just had a quick viewing of the game and despite the fight after 50 odd seconds the game just never got going. Even when down 18-4 at half time, Whitehaven never looked like winning the game. Poor choice for a tv game in the end and Haven must be down to Championship One now.
  14. John this will be the first thing I purchase in the morning, hows that?
  15. Ian Smith is in charge on Sunday so there won't be any cheating.
  16. Not seen the game yet as I've just got back from Radio Leeds but I'm just baout to watch it so will report back later on.
  17. If you want I could meet you at Twickenham station although it will have to be early as I'll have to set up the equipment for the commentary. From Kings Cross station it's prety simple, you catch the underground blue line to Vaxhall where you change to catch an national rail train to Twickenham. The ground is around about a 10/15 minute walk away.
  18. I'm going to this on Saturday via a freebie so I hope it's as good a game as Im expecting. Leeds by six to eight points.
  19. Massive game for us on Sunday at Odsal as we take on one of the form teams of Super League Hull FC who will have around 1500/2000 supporters at Odsal, meaning this will be the last big crowd of the season. So it's vital that everyone turns up and makes themselves heard be it on the Popular side or the Tetley's stand. The loss of Sean Long for the black & whites could have huge implications on there season (the signing of Long was always a huge gamble) as when he was missing earlier in the season Hull FC really struggled to create any real attacking flare (to which I was a witness seeing both the Hull FC 24-48 Leeds and Hull FC 12-8 Wakefield games). The parallels between both clubs is somewhat striking with both having problems of no recognised backup halfback to take over the mantle (see Matt Orford). Fitzgibbon and Mark O'Meley may also be missing. So that brings me on to the Bulls and I can't really say much which is a shame, but Im feeling low after the events of yesterday. I know I've posted this on another thread but it's vital to the season that we urgently need to be recapturing our early season defence and quick because with eight games to go it's everything to play for. Another season of missing out on the play-offs will wipe hundreds off next seasons, season pass holders. On that note I think Hull FC will win but we'll make them work for it. Bradford Bulls 18-32 Hull FC, attendance 9,023
  20. Going back to a game vs Castleford at Odsal in 1999 Mr Gay scored two fabulous tries to put Castleford 18-4 up in what was for me his definitive game. Unlucky for him he ended up on the losing side as Spruce and Mcavoy stole it at the death 24-22. Good game.
