Goes to show contracts don't seem to count for much these days.

Depends....did we get a fee or not?

Or were we looking to free up salary budget?

Could be to our advantage in many ways.....although I will miss the little wave of anticipation that would pass through me every time 2 Ps entered the fray.

    2 Ps has gone.

Surprised to hear on the grapevine that he is going to Doncaster though. Carl Hall spending big to ensure they avoid the death knell of league 1 in 2025?

BTW - this is according to Mick Gledhill so could be well wide of the mark.....

That’s great news. So we’ve got Harris, Hingano, Myler, Cunningham and Daley who can play half-back. Surely that should be enough cover?? Plus don’t some of the new young lads play there? If they are all fit, that will be some selection headache. Still think we are short on big, top Championship-quality props, but what do I know. Roll-on next season!

All bodes well for a fast, open approach from Hendo next season. Can't wait for January!

On the Our League App it says our fixtures are announced on December 3rd and the season starts with the 1895 Cup games on the weekend of January 27th/28th.

Love me a bit of summer rugby 😎

Was a decent try,but i was pointing out that we have signed 3players from a team that finished bottom of the championship and hopefully Simon is right about Batchelor before he signed for us that nobody had heard of him,but how long ago was that.Squad starting to look lopsided with all the backs and half backs on the books and at the end of the day everyone has a opinion even if people sometimes disagree with yours.

Hear what you are saying Puk. But the counter argument is that we are also recruiting from above our current standing with the announcement of Richie Myler. So it's a bit from bag A and a bit from bag B but hopefully Hendo had identified the mix he wants in his squad for 2024.

In the past few seasons we have had players come in from Superleague teams who haven't performed as their reputation would have suggested. And on the other hand one of last years standouts for me was Conor Fitzsimmons who came from Whitehaven.

On balance, I'd rather we went with players who felt they had something to prove than those who have 'been there and done the lot'.

Still a few announcements to come yet i feel so hopefully a few more forwards as you are quite right that that is where we are looking a little thin in depth.

Massive part of my life and always has been but sky tried to kill clubs off 20 odd years ago and it looks like img are going to get their vision over the line

If we stop going they undoubtedly will.

I've had my wobbles this season - especially as my dad can no longer attend due to ill health. But doing the ladies grand final with better half and kids in tow has made me think again. Hendo is putting together a solid looking squad that we know will give their all and, more importantly, play entertaining rugby. And as we move into a new era we have an owner that, on the face of it, has a sensible and sustainable visison for the club.

And if nowt else, it's always worth turning up to the LNER to watch us beat them bloody Bulls for another season 😅

  7. Wasn't PP still under contract? So will there be a fee involved?

On another note, mixed feelings but overall I'll be sad to see him go. He had that unknown quality and could come off the bench to cause devastation out of nowhere and really lift a game. But, as a result, played short minutes and was missing for a large chunks of the season. If his fitness could be guaranteed then all good but after the season we have just had I can imagine that Hendo will be desperate for a bit of continuity from week to week.

Be even better if Santi and Antrobus resign

Couldn't agree more! Although the jungle drums say Santi's heart is set elsewhere. Hope the past few months have caused a rethink.

Who’s kicked it out from there it’s impossible and who’s walloped him in head when he walked away after he was told to swing his arm as he landed akward where from that you would do. Has AJ is trying turn him to prevent the score so he’s landing on his arm shoulder why to me even in fast motion he’s tried to throw it out with a offload knowing he’s going lose control. We can all have a opinion but will never know the facts like spainish knight said who knows with that ref.

The next couple of frames seem pretty clear to me.

As Harrison is grounding the ball it's kick away. Look at Wallace's foot/leg and the direction of travel of the ball. And as for the lack of reaction - was that not more due to the fact the ref blew up almost immediately as, and fair play to the Bull's players who could immediately see that Harrison was in trouble, the concern was with the potential condition of the York player who'd taken a blow to the head.

I’ve still no idea how the first York try was given not one york player celebrated Harrison through the ball back lilley caught it hands on head by York players. Then had a chat gave it not one celebration just York players confused talking with the ref asking why it’s a try 🤦🏻‍♂️

Have you watched the video? Definitely didn't throw the ball backwards. It was kicked out of his hands in the act of scoring. And I would imagine the reason York players had their heads in the hands is due to Harrison collecting a wallop to the head in the process.

  12. Nowt will beat picking up a photocopied team sheet as you walked through the turnstyle at Clarence Street. Then waiting in anticipation for the entrance of two star substitutes -

    A.N. Other & S.O. Else

    Great days 😄

  13. One of the best aussies to pull on a York shirt. A true old school scrum half who seemingly could put boot to ball and deliver an inch perfect kick to wherever he like. Loved going and watching him play for Cas when he partnered up with Danny Orr in the late 90s. Under Stuart Raper that Cas team played some great rugby.
