Is this tonight? I had a look on the website to check and to register and slightly important details like date registration form are missing from the news story.
  2. That is disappointing to hear as Tom has bags of potential. But he has to do what is right for him so good luck to the lad.
  3. O'Hagan starts! His pre-season starts early
  4. Yep. He was sold an absolute lemon that year.
  5. Absolutely agree. He's not sole head coach material at all. Just wanted to set the record straight that he's hardly been twiddling his thumbs as some on TRL seem to think.
  6. Probably nothing other than it's great having a York icon involved. However, we shouldn't think that he has been out of rugby for all that time as, after leaving league, he went on to coach in Union at Munster, Newcastle and Cardiff club teams and the Irish and Scottish national sides. So he's not as out of touch with modern sporting techniques as some are making out.
  7. Great news and thoroughly deserving of a role in the future of the Knights.
  8. Having said that, we could do a lot worse than him. Danny Ward I mean....not Coolie
  9. Well it worked out pretty well last time we did it
  10. Thought it was two more years. Would hope we see some form of recompense but can't imagine it'd be much. Not sure what value contracts really have in rugby nowadays. https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/sport/19701432.york-city-knights-coach-james-ford-signs-new-three-year-deal/
  11. Well i can hand on heart say that happened to me only last year and I'm still in exactly the same place. So i think that's an over simple and cynical view of the world and this situatuon. But to each their own.
  12. Whilst i would not be surprised if that was the case, i would be astonished if that was the reason. If money was the primary motivator there'd be precious few folks working in rugby league at all
  13. What does surprise me is that obviously James and Clint have not been slow to tie down players to longer term contracts. I can only imagine that the intention, on both sides, was that it would be James coaching those players over the next 2-3 seasons. So in my mind whatever has occurred has occurred pretty recently and pretty rapidly. That's not to say that doing the above with the squad wasn't the right thing to do but it does mean that whoever is coming in is going to have little flexibility for quite some time on shaping their squad. But when all is said and done, James has been an absolute legend for us and if an opportunity has arisen then I don't think anyone would begrudge him taking it. Just still can't help feel with the IMG news that there was also the potential, though admittedly not for next season, for James to be a Super League coach eventually with the Knights. And who knows.....maybe one day that might still happen.
  14. Maybe it's all a big misunderstanding about making sure James Batchelor's company car was recovered before his move to Hull KR. What was actually overheard was "We need to organise the paperwork to get James's Ford to the club." I'm sure one day we'll look back at all of this and laugh.......
  15. First I've heard of this. Anyone else heard anything?
  16. I've got a copy of Screamadelica signed by Bobby Gillespie if that counts. No? Just wanted to join in

    Rumour

TBH, I am as much in the dark over crowds as you. I was just thinking of the longer term trend going back to when we were in L1. Does seem bizarre that the club, or is it the stadium management, are so secretive about this statistic.

    Rumour

We'd have to consistently be delivering on the field, and improving crowds off it, before we are serious contenders for a license. But both are trending in the right direction, so who knows in a few years time.
  19. Well Ta'ai was more than a handful for us at 1:40 here......
  20. Great bit of business that

  22. ######. How am I going to convince the missus that I need to pop into M&S to buy a bottle of wine before every match now?
  23. Some very fair and reasonable points there ABK. Hope all gets resolved at your workplace and that the strikes don't impact too much on every day life. Gonna be tougher times coming up for all of us....at least we'll have a new season to look forward to in the spring. I'll see you in the cheap(er) seats!!
