Agreed but we have no money to pay for this game , if you did an England upcoming stars game and tried to get 2 or 3 thousand people watching it in a cosy venue it might be nearer to breaking even

Its the same thing but maybe a stronger brand is the Lions ? If we ever get othe home nations up to standard or manage to produce a star ( Regan Grace) at least they will have meaningful international fixtures

Why would it be ? Would it not have packed stadia and make great TV which will drive up tv and sponsorship revenue?

I think Dave we should also look at ourselves here , have we done enough as supporters of Rugby league internationally? Martyn is probably correct in saying new generations have not been used to international RL but we have to look at our marketing plans ; how do we try to entice a new or existing audience to these games ? Answer is that no one appears to do sweet FA other than put tickets for sale. Why don't they for example bring out a number of ex players of the club where the match is been played for example alongside some former international players to have a meet and great with the crowd ? Basic levels of marketing could drive up the numbers but it appears very little has been done to build the brand of any rugby league international team outside of a narrow band of existing fans.

Seems like we in the Northern hemisphere are to blame , we have done nothing for the international game for a long long time. Attendees are sliding along with participation year on year , the powers that be in both countries should be ashamed at what they have not done.

That was better , this has been going on with the BBC for the last 15 years , can't believe no one has sorted this

Maybe not world cups but we have had many instances of no national anthems been played due to total incompetence.

Thats the problem, its someone's job to deliver that properly

Obviously England played well but that should not nasty over the disgraceful opening ceremony, just can't keep doing things like this ; the organisers of that shambles should lose their jobs

Probably but i get lower league content but next to nothing from the top tier , certainly no content like the footy show or anything like that. That type of show would help rl players become more well know as well as the game itself.

Been abroad i watch youtube and fb alot , im overun with stuff about the NRL and the dreaded union but get next to nothing about Rugby league even though i actively search for content.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a focus group that met with IMG ? You never know we might be able to help!
