I believe they also told a couple of Championship clubs in this year's play offs that they couldn't be promoted (Whitehaven was one).
What is the difference between the Rec Ground and Moor Lane?
What’s the difference between post office road and Moor Lane? What I’ve seen Moor lane is tidy think there’s corporate in the main stand, 5k ish capacity will do for Salford.

This thread started with a link to WMDC planning regarding detailed planning submitted on improvements to Belle Vue, numerous posts since we’ve had.
Some People supporting it, some people ridiculing it, some getting defensive. You get the impression some hope it doesn’t happen and obviously us Wakefield fans who desperately hope it does.
If it happens Wakefield Trinity will be in a stronger position and will continue and enhance the great work the club do on and off the pitch.

Oh ok, that’s alright then.
It’s not because we would be a stronger club if one had been built, hopefully the new stand and the other improvements will make us a stronger club and supplement the good work done by the club in recent years.

It doesn't matter they PROMISED the RFL they would build a new stadium
You do know what the word PROMISE means don't you?
Did we say when though?

Even if it was as vague as that, it’s still a claim to build a new stadium. From over 22 years ago. That’s some progress they’ve made.
But it’s just us being sceptical. We been looking to build a new stadium for 40+ years.

Once. Despite telling the RFL you would play TV games there.
That my friend is why nobody of even average intelligence is being sucked in with these building plans
Not sucking anyone in, just submitted detailed planning to improve Belle Vue and some RL fans of other clubs are getting upset about it.

I will. I have the actual copy of it somewhere in my house. I read it, I know what it said. When I find it, I’ll scan it and put a copy of it on here.
Does it state where this proposed stadium was going to be built? Or was it along the lines of we are looking to build a new stadium.

No doubt it needs to happen, but that's for the clubs benefit as much as anyone else. Afterthat BV will have one tiptop side and two adequate sides.
The redevelopment of the West (and south) stand is naturally dependent upon funding. I dont think there is source for this yet. Who knows Wakefield AFC might get involved and be able to open up access to some grants (much as many supporters want nothing to do with Rodney Walker anymore).
According to Wakefield FC they asked to play at Belle Vue last year but were refused as we didn’t want additional wear and tear of pitch. This may be the reasoning of the proposed new 4g pitch but think it’s more for club training and community use.

When the East Stand is completed, if it’s as the proposed plans now with WMDCs Planning Dept, then Belle Vue will be far far better than Wheldon Rd.
There will be
- properly tarmacked on site car parking
- purpose built bars and food outlets
- Multiple, brand new, well kept toilet/baby change facilities
- New ticketing office & outlet
- huge pre match hospitality areas
- brand new seating with excellent unobstructed views
- brand new changing rooms and player/officials facilities
- up to date physio & Medical rooms
- Players gymnasium & indoor warm up areas
The new North terracing will be completely brand new and will have the most up to date crush bars.
There will be new up to date computerised turnstiles on both the East & West sides of the ground.
The South side Hospitality boxes will still provide Executive longes, Hospitality boxes, supporters bars, food outlets, toilet facilities and some of the best views of a match anywhere in the game.
The Cats Bar will also be revamped to provide a huge retailing area, more toilets, more bars and family areas.
To top it off the pitch will be new and crucially ‘full sized’
Full sized and level. Plus new floodlights.

On the assumption that planning permission is granted will thus become the first time that Wakefield will have both planning and funding simultaneously ?
Supposedly all in place as detailed in the press release end of November.

Barely sneaked promotion? We won the league and the grand final, as for avoiding relegation that's the excitement that this new league structure is all about isn't it.What about when they were in the 2nd division on sub 2,000 crowds and barely sneaked promotion by very narrowly beating Fev in the grand final and the avoided relegation on the last day of the season for about four years in a row. Were they a big club then?

Investing in what ?

Potential investersInvestment ? In what by whom ?

And you been a Wakefield Fan (martyn) can probably see your shiny new stadium and thus future slipping away, because should you get relegated it will be very hard to justify the build. Good luck
The Wakefield Community Stadium would still go ahead SL or not . If we did get relegated the new system allows the chance to get straight back up doesn't it? so I would have though the removal of licensing would be a good argument against the no SL no community rumour. Im starting to warm to this new option as I hear the other option wasn't that good for the whole game + for clubs like us cas, Bradford it could increase investment as they know we won't be out of the top flight for at least 3 years due to licensing.

Bramley and Hunslet are still in Leeds where as cas is not in Wakefield. Regarding Leeds United you are right a lot of people from Wakefield watch LUFC it only takes me 15mins to get to Elland Road it's Wakefields nearest pro football team but if Wakefield had a pro football team (I wish we would) I would have always watched them. If a merged RL team was forced on me replacing the team me and my family has watched for generations not even playing in my City, would I watch them? would I hell. Let's have P&R over a full season without moving the goal posts so we all know where we are and let clubs naturally find there level.Yes and Hunslet, Bramley and North Leeds are three separate areas as far as Rugby League goes too.
If your three go on going bust, getting relegated and drifting in the championship then thousands of new fans won't bother to watch failure, and all the best players will just go sign for Leeds Huddersfield and Hull. Once the diehard fans die out crowds can drop even further.
It's the historic affiliations that are creating this situation, nobody in Wakefield has an affinity to Leeds United as they are two separate cities??.
As long as this sort of argument succeeds the clubs will slowly sink into the very history that is dragging them down. Opening up SL to 24, many small clubs, will be a disaster, let's hope they don't do it today.
Derbies and administration all round.

Wakefield shouldn't represent the so called district we should have nothing to do with the district we should be back to Wakefield City Council . As for investment Wakefield needed it after the City centre being neglected for years compared to Leeds Huddersfield Barnsley. Anyway of to get the Wakefield Express tomorrow, surprised we don't have to share our local paper like some small towns out on a limb.True, the district is asymetrical; Wakefield gets all the investment, but the majority of the council tax payers are way over to the east. We don't want the same to happen in Rugby League! The district would have been better off if it had been named like Kirklees; something like Osgoldcross & Agbrigg after the old Wapentakes.
But it is stupid to talk about nominating Wakefield to represent the district.

is that right ? They should move the cathedral, the ridings,Trinity walk, the cathedral park , unit 41 etc to ponte then instead of been stuck out on a limb in the wilderness. Joking aside the 2-3 miles around Wakefield Central which includes all the estates and villages traditionally classed as Wakefield is a large populated area which is getting more populated all the time. What people outside the WMDC need to understand is Wakefield, cas and Pontefract are 3 separate areas and people of Wakefield have no affiliation to cas or ponte and that's replicated from the residents of cas and ponte, WDMC is a made up region .Why Wakefield? The District may be named after the City, but the bulk of the population in WMDC is centred around Pontefract, which is approx 2-3 miles equidistant from Cas, Fev & Knottingley. Wakefield is stuck out on a limb far to the west of the district. - Study the map!

Again, I don't think it helps the argument if you deliberately miss the point. One of the things that I actually like about the proposed system, and which should be considered very carefully in any new structure, is that it forces clubs to hit the ground running rather than coast through the spring.
Or does it mean instead of blooding the youngsters due to injuries giving them valuable SL experience which is now reaping the rewards of blooding them youngsters, clubs will panic buy with fear of finishing in the bottom 4 after 11 games

Depends how you decipher what’s classed as a big club. Only 3 genuine big clubs in British RL in my opinion Leeds, Wigan and Hull FC
