  1. Well Wigan may have won the Grand Final but I am pleased to see that the Rhinos have been confirmed as winning the ultimate prize this year. Best club in the country
  2. I thought Tonga really tired in the last 30. It could be because they haven’t played in a while or it could be because England kept the ball in play and tired out their middles. Perhaps both. But we could see a difference next week, if the former, which would be ominous because we struggled to hold them at times
  3. You can see the selling of alternate rows in the north stand. Crowd was respectable if somewhat disappointing. Others loss for missing a great test match My only gripe was that Saints hadn’t opened some of the F&B facilities so there was over 30 minutes wait at the start of the game and at half time. I gave up waiting and so didn’t buy anything but it’s really poor
  4. Crowd in the ground looks reasonably healthy, notwithstanding the queues trying to get in. Should be a good atmosphere
  5. As much as I’d hate to see it but I think the injuries will really impact Papenhuizen in a similar way to it did with Tomkins. He is probably a smart enough player to adapt but given pace and evasion is his biggest strength, if I was Storm I would be putting my efforts into keeping Faalogo over him. I don’t think Papenhuizen will be the same player again
  6. Samoa were a bit of a disorganised disgrace. Only Luki and Leniu showed up well. Crichton had a shocker. The Kiwis were very good though, they have a lot of strike players and good balance to the side so should trouble the Kangaroos. Foran was immense from dummy half and Tapine a standout first half
  7. Will never happen. As soon as you have a fallow year, interest wanes, staff are released. You’re effectively starting a club from scratch. Their best hope is finding some solution for 2024
  8. I watched 3 of the last 4. I didn't watch the pummelling by the Panthers, which he got dropped from thereafter. Did you?
  9. Yeah now Croft has signed, I'm not sure Frawley gets in the 17. Myler would get my nod at 7, although given neither he or Croft have great long kicking games, may swing it Frawley's way. Smith may prefer O'Connor starting and Ackers to have impact from the bench
  10. I don't despise him, I don't know him. His enduring quality that GH mentioned was he's a good character. Probably says it all about him. I'm just commenting on his performances and those of the teams he's played in. That's in direct contradiction with your view. I'll be happy if he surpasses my expectations of him next year, although that wouldn't be very difficult
  11. He sure was absolutely crucial during Canberra's late season losing streak
  12. Firstly, I highly doubt a university, who announced their sponsorship 3 days before a series, have paid more than an established brand such as Ronseal. Secondly, brand affiliation matters a lot. I could go on at length, but it would take the thread off at a tangent and probably worth setting up a separate thread if you wished to discuss further
  13. I still don't rate Cogger, despite some of the OTT praise he's had this year. I mean let's be honest, with the Panthers system and Cleary and Yeo as the main ball players, anyone could do a job in that supporting half. I doubt he'll get a look in at the Knights unless there's injuries
  14. So we've gone from Ronseal as a sponsor for our national team to University of Central Lancashire . Says it all about the international game
  15. I wondered that, it's the only ground which doesn't have it............yet does for Rhinos games. Very odd and irritating
  16. Just like he dominated SL when he was at the Giants?
  17. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Wighton got moved because the Raiders outside backs got decimated by injury and he is comfortable at full back and centre. The stats for when Frawley played in the halves are telling - they directly coincided with Canberras season falling apart: Performances without Frawley Won 12, Lost 7 Performances with Frawley in the halves Won 1, Lost 5 After the pummelling by the Panthers earlier in the season, Frawley got dropped in favour of Schneider. If Schneider had remained at the Raiders, there’s no guarantee that Frawley would have even played at the back end of the season when the Raiders season fell away
  18. Miller should tear it up in SL and is certainly the most exciting signing
  19. That’s not the case. Fogarty is the controlling half in the Raiders team
