  1. I feel slightly optimistic about tomorrow's game after signs of very moderate improvement. Surely we must have one bright spot to our season. Going to let my heart rule my head and predict: Geordies 24 Dews 28 FTS Hall MOM Gill Att: 828 including me
  2. Not downhearted today, the players put the effort in. Going to Newcastle next week and hope to see us push them a bit closer.
  3. Cornwall seem to be doing OK – still getting 900-plus crowds at home, despite not yet winning a match there. Better gates than us. Look forward to visiting next season.
  4. In today's League Express, no attendances were given for the games at Bradford, Featherstone, Whitehaven, Widnes and North Wales. It does come across as amateurish but it would be interesting to know why they are not being published any more.
  5. Dewsbury had Les Holliday circa 1993, only a year or so after he played for Great Britain.
  6. Reading League Express, it appears that clubs are increasingly declining to reveal match attendances. I find this a pity as they are a good indicator of the health of a club and the game as a whole. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? (Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, I haven't seen it if it has)
  7. I think we will see plenty of effort from our players but sadly not the mentality to win. 14-22 Attendance 410 Hard times
  8. Even if we do win on Sunday, the club is still papering over the cracks. No one wants to watch a team whose sole aim is to avoid being relegated. I feel very sorry for young players such as Harry Kidd, Lewis Carr, Davey Dixon etc who have worked hard to make it to the professional game, only to find themselves coached by the current gutless set-up. If the coaching staff have anything to teach them now, then surely it's to have the decency to walk away when you have nothing left to offer. All Dewsbury fans have ever asked for is for the players and coaches to give their all every game. If we get that then even 66-0 defeats become palatable. That was not the case last night, and hasn't been the case in a lot of matches this season.
  9. The players tonight should have been fighting for a shirt on Sunday. It looked as though they don't want to play then either. Greenwood and Graham out, now.
  10. It wasn't just the result tonight, it was the complete lack of effort and application. If the coaching staff have a shred of decency about them, they have to walk.
  11. Thought it was a terrific game, event and stadium, probably a better experience than Wembley. Took two football-loving friends along, one from London, one from Cambridge for their first RL game. They both enjoyed it - "it was better than the Champions League final" - and want to go to another game, possibly World Cup semi at Arsenal. One of them commented: "I wouldn't have known this was even on if it wasn't for you." Work to be done.
  12. Just bought 5 discounted tickets through Dewsbury. Bringing two friends from London along for their first taste of RL.
  13. Not sure team selection is our biggest problem. I think all the players in our squad are worthy of the shirt - the problem is when they put it on they all look they've been told different things. We seem to lack aggression and co-ordination over the 80 minutes and, at best, only show it for brief spells. London looked like they wanted to win more on Sunday, and showed aggression in attack and defence for the full 80. We only got our act together in the second half and even then it was somewhat shambolic.
  14. Result aside it was one of my favourite away games in a long time. I know London aren't great at the moment but I stayed in the stadium bar until 8pm and the home fans were still singing and dancing. Brilliant bar and beers. The rugby league heart beats outside the M62 for sure.
  15. Thought Kyle Trout played well on Sunday and he'll be important against London. Sad to see the Broncos struggling. They've always been my second team and are a vital club to our sport. Looking forward to visiting the new ground at Wimbledon and hoping for a good day out.
  16. Flateartherstone to win, Leigh to self-combust two thirds of the way through the season. Adrian Lam hasn't proved himself as a coach, unlike McDermott, and Fev seem to have the bigger pot of cash. Dewsbury to squeeze in the top 10. Bring it on!
  17. First signing is Anthony Mullally, hope they do vegan pasties.
  18. Great pics, have fond memories of visiting Fartown. Is Barrow the visiting team in the second pic? They were the first opponents at Dewsbury's new stadium in 1994.
