  1. Certainly not today, not a stand off for me, at least look before you Chuck a pass out to sidelines. We also got exposed at centre with broadbent, I like him but he’s not a centre. We need some size in the centres to match other teams. Overall, we got beat by a bigger side today. Would also like to see our half’s taking teams on like Donny’s did today. At least make teams think about what we’re doing other than a one pass play each time, over and over.
  2. Bad language should be the least of our worries after the way we played today. Some of our players were swearing, when kicks were missed of or shouting to smash that c***. Don’t see the harm in it but nice to see the players back it up.
  3. Well played Oldham, decent team. sadly barrow looked absolutely terrible. Not a bad first half but second half we were out of the game pretty much the whole half. just shows what experience can do. wardle, turner and Ellis took us apart on their left side. Sadly it looks like another relegation scrap this season for us. be nice if just one of our forwards actually wanted to make a break and try to run hard. Silva being the exception.
  4. I struggle to get my head around how we can be struggling financially. Am I correct in thinking that when Covid hit, we declined the loans as the club could manage? And did the teams who took the loans have/or are having to pay them back as from what I remember most teams took loans and most of these teams are splashing out on signing players up. So alongside paying players and repaying these loans, they seem to look in a stronger position than we do. I still can't and never will understand how teams like Sheffield can survive and be a strong as they are on the crowds they get. We get 4 or 5 times more for home games yet finances are tough for us. How do these clubs with the lower fanbases survive and whats their secret. I get we dont have the luxury of living close to the SL teams so cant pick players up as easily so is always going to cost us more to get players here but surely you would think financially we would be one of the better teams. I just hope the statement that we are in talks with 6 players comes good as we really need some players. Were crying out for some props as we need some size upfront and a hooker to roll on and off with Wood. Unless Cresta has a masterplan to convert a player to hooker, it worked moving Gillam from 2nd row to prop so you never know!
  5. Took the club long enough. Please tell me you have some good news?
  6. I think the RFL have turned to IMG as the RFL has lost its direction. Look at the poor crowds at big games like Challenge cup final, the GF and the 2 England internationals so far. The RFL need to do something to get people watching RL again and they probably see IMG as having a solution. There does seem to be some strange scoring which will probably get them the teams they want to build the future of RL on. The risk of this is losing established clubs and also expanding clubs like Newcastle. I'd like to see the RFL being fair and helping struggling clubs out like when they bought Odsal as an example (sure there are other instances), otherwise were going to see more teams dying over the next few years.
  7. Has this been confirmed yet or is from the same source that had Wood off to Widnes?
  8. Saints announced today that Ritson has signed a 2 year deal (best kept secret) with them so he officially wont be back. Hopefully we can use the money from him signing towards recruitment.
  9. Amazing! What a journey, come a long way from the team playing at Barrow Island to now playing with the best!
  10. London were excellent when they played us up here and even better last night. Hope they get the job done now.
  11. Some great performances yesterday. Where I was stood, everyone around me was saying someone different for MOM so shows how well the team played.
  12. Worthington at prop was superb yesterday.
  13. See Ritson not named in the saints 21 man squad. Unless he’s injured he should be picked for us under the loan deal from how I understood it. He Could give us a much needed boost. I’m not expecting anything from Sunday but if we can put a performance in it could give us that lift we need.

    v Haven.

2 poor sides on show today. We should have won it with them chances at the end or at least a draw. Our discipline is our downfall again, we need to wise up as its killing us game after game. Shame for the genuine haven fans being stuck with that group of morons. Not getting any easier with a trip to Widnes next.
  15. Holker pioneers maybe
  16. On the subject of an outside back, Ritson isn’t in the saints 18 tonight. Bennison is 18th man tonight. not sure what was agreed in him playing in cup games but we were told if he wasn’t in the 18 he was available for us if that’s right?
  17. what a turn around, brilliant team effort. our pack dominated theirs which is a first for us this season and the kick chases were brilliant, shut them down early and forced errors.
  18. who from towns squad would be good enough for the championship?
  19. Well 1 up rugby isnt working for us this season so we need to mix it up, go wide early, try catch teams off guard, something different to what we've been doing each game, its predictable and boring to watch. If we were punching holes through the middle I'd be happy to see us play like that but arent. If were going to line up like we did last night where we have 2 wingers playing in the centres then we have the pace to catch teams out so get the ball out there.
  20. every team we have played this season has out enthused us down the middle and I cant understand it as I look at our pack and think its decent until we play then we get bullied, make daft errors and stop our halves from playing as theres no platform. 1 man rugby hasn't worked for us all season so time to do something different. Maybe time to call in that favor from Saints and get someone in for a bit.
  21. Prop. His first year at prop and he got better over the season, another season like last year and he will be in SL.
  22. lovely city but I think the crowd will be less attended than Leeds. hotels in York arent cheap and parking is dreadful so can see that putting people off from travelling and staying over.
  23. I agree, well done to the club, sounds like a good deal all round and I genuinely believe they have also looked out for Tee with this deal. Positive we are negotiating with a quality centre too. We had a quality centre play a few times for us last season, be nice if it was him.
  24. If he had a super league release clause then surely thats if a SL team signs them, not loans him. Nothing to stop all championship players putting a SL release clause in their contract and then a SL team just loans them when they want. Feel Barrow have been shafted here. His contract runs down by 12 months making him available to saints for less than he is now with 24 months remaining. And if he doesnt make the grade, they send him back and it doesnt cost them anything. But we are at a loss losing our top try scorer. Feels very strange, I just hope some clever deal has been struck thats not yet been disclosed.
