Good article. Jodie is right....I really hope they don't start splitting the game into a mens league and a womens league. Wales Wheelchair RL and North Wales Crusaders in particular, have been at the forefront of developing players to their potential no matter if the players are men, women or trans...and long may it continue.

Hurricanes, Oldham and Cougars to win. A huge party at Boundary Park (and very well deserved). A big celebration at the Alexander Stadium on Hurricanes reaching the playoffs (Best of luck to them). Cougars to narrowly defeat Hornets to secure the second spot. North Wales Crusaders to win - although the game is a dead rubber, as it wont affect the playoffs, it will give us time to reflect on what could have been, and the exciting prospect of what is to come in 2025. Season tickets go on sale, so I'll be in the queue for one of those. On a personal reflection - I only missed one game this season, home and away; That was a home game vs Workington on Fathers Day. Over the season I met plenty of lovely people in League 1 , home and away; Thank You for your company, your friendly rivalry and for coming to North Wales Crusaders to support your teams. See some of you next year. Good luck and congratulations to those who go up to the Championship.

Last year the nomadic experience was due to the Eirias Park being redeveloped and a new pitch laid. We had one game swithched this year due to a new running track being laid; but you're right. It decimated our crowds -
Ralf Roberts, who score two tries in each of the three matches hes played for Wales U16 is from Wrexham, although his playing has been done through clubs in the North West and hes recently signed for Warrinton Wolves. Fantastic prospect and I hope we can get him playing for North Wales Crusaders in the very near future. Ralf, will be like any other prospective players in North East Wales, will most probably be snatched up by scouts from North West England clubs.

Wasn't to be for the Cru this year, but we'll build again for 2025 with a new owner. Congratulations to Hurricanes on getting into the playoff and proving you're no longer the whipping boys. I'll be following the Hurricanes in the play-offs; I may even get along to the game if you're playing in the Alexandra in the first round. -

I'll second that! We HAVE to win if we are to have any impact on the play-offs. We need to play like we did at Hunslet in the first 40 minutes last Sunday.... but for both halves of the game!! -
I'll be happy to see Wales senior mens team play a home game in Wales. I'd be happy to see them play anywhere. This will be their first game since exiting the RLWC2021 in November 2022...and we have two really important games coming up in France so a warm up game is a bonus. Wales need to be playing far more often

We seem to be playing one good half a game! We were great in the first 40 minutes, and you're right, our completion rate was poor in the second half....and we blew tow clear try scoring chances. Pressure is on now. We HAVE to win the last two games and then have better points difference than Workington to get into the top 6. Not great relying on other results but thats where we are.
-
All away wins.....except for Cornwall. Can they upset the table and let North Wales back in with a chance of coming 6th? Big weekend for Oldham. I expect them to lift the trophy on Sunday. North Wales Crusaders need to go into playoff mode and beat Hunslet. I'll be a bag of nerves again, I know we CAN win if we play our best for 80 minutes. Cru to edge it by 2 points.

Rob Massam taken from the field with his face completely bashed up....apparently hes got a fractured cheek bone. Ref didn't even give a high shot - put it on report and played on! Two other incidents lead to Keighley having players in the bin for 10 minutes each...I'll leave you jump to your own conclusions!
-
Anything you and Town can do to oblige...and get us into the top 6! We've got Cornwall as our last game - everyone seems to be improving and games are getting closer as the season comes to a close. Cornwall have been there or thereabouts in a few of their games and we'll not forget them beating us at Rhyl RUFC last season.
-
Wins for Hunslet and Oldham easiest to call. Midlands could give Workington a hard time with both looking to secure 5th and 6th spot. I'll predict for a draw there. My heart says North Wales Crusaders, but my head says Cougars win. I hope we can run them close, but they're probably too strong for us.

I thought at the time, a red card was harsh, but it was certainly yellow, and I expect that's what the review panel have concluded too. -

But no fouls were given....so, perhaps your Town tinted glasses need cleaning -

I've looked at the photo ...he could be landing on the player, or he could be completely past him before any contact...as I say the photo has no context because we don't know if Carl landed on the player or not. I can't remember any penalty given against Carl for dangerous play/tackle -

What was Towns penalty count for the game? How many high shots did your players make against Crusaders? One picture, out of context, doesn't tell the story of the game. I spoke to Anthony Murray after the game..his assessment was that Towns poor discipline cost the game...I'm sure if Town had carried on playing like they did in the first 20 minutes you'd have won easily. -

Just home from Workington...a long trip but very much worth going for the result! We were pretty poor for 20 minutes and I thought Town would romp away with the game but a red card at the end of the first half change the game in out favour. Town defended well for a spell when they went down to 11, but Crusaders improved and broke down a dogged defence...Towns discipline was their main problem as the gave away penalty after penalty and Crusaders benefited - although when we went 22 - 24 up I thought we'd blown it again letting the ball bounce out on the full from a kick off and then fluffing the drop out to give Town and easy 2 points to level the game. Carl Forster became the pantomime villain for the Town fans but he rallies his side to score a try in the last 5 minutes. It was edge of the seat stuff right to the end. 360 miles for our small bunch of travelling fans today. -

Cougars, Oldham and Hornets should all win, particularly with home advantage. North Wales Crusaders must win to keep their hopes of a top 6 place alive. A tough ask but we have beaten Town this season and have won in Workington before now. We'll need a good start and to keep the momentum of the game in our favour. It'll be close but I think Crusaders will win. -
World Cup 28/29/30 Tenders
gogledd replied to Odsal Outlaw's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Th e wheelchair RL World Cup 20222 was a great event which gathered momentum the more it was televised - which is a good argument for keeping the three World Cups bundled together. Of the three countries vying to bid for the Wheelchair World Cup I'd award it to USA. France hosted it in 2017 (and failed to find funding as hosts for 2025), England in 2022. USA have a bonefide team who competed in 2022, have hosted Wales last year and with the potential for TV audiences and advertising, wheelchair rugby league could definitely benefit.
