Glad to hear you had a good time, Gogledd. But I wish we had bid you farewell with a loss to take home - the Cornwall boys were bitterly disappointed as they felt the game was there to be won.
Still, good luck for the rest of the season, and see you next year otherwise.
We still have another game against Cornwall - lets hope for a Crusaders win in Eirias Park on the last game of the season. Why not come up ans see us!

Just got back from Cornwall - forgot to factor in the Glastonbury traffic on the M5 which was at a standstill for parts of the journey...a journey which took almost 9 hours!!. 693 miles to watch North Wales Crusaders! Was it worth it...damn right! 2 points in the bag, 3 wins on the bounce, we had some great weather, lovely food and a mini-holiday with some rugby league thrown in for good measure!

Wins for Hurricanes, Oldham and Cougars.
I'm already in Cornwall ready for the game. Hopefully we'll get the same sunshine we had today and we'll come away with another decent win to add to the winning streak we're on. Take nothing for granted though; the Choughs have turned us over before! Looking forward to a few beers and a pasty!

Convincing wins for Cougars and Oldham. Hunslet will squeeze past Hornets with home advantage.
I'm hoping our win at home last weekend has generated some confidence and we get a good win at Newcastle Thunder. I want us to play with skill and discipline, defend well and cut out the errors and penalties.

Just home from Eirias Park....and my heart rate is just about back to normal again.
A pulsating game between two sides determined to overturn the ball once they'd scored! Crusaders threw a massive interception to Workington for them to go six points clear, then a further try to go 10 points behind, but Crusaders showed great character to win the game with grit and determination, despite Workington constantly trying to slow the play of the balls down. For me we desrved the win...but only just!

Seems the takeover has been approved by the RFL

Message from the new boss:
“We now enter an exciting time for the club as a whole with plenty of positive stories to follow, and I look forward to meeting you all very soon.
“This club means so much to all of us, I’m excited to embark on a journey together and bring success back to North Wales Crusaders as just reward for the hard work and dedication which you’ve all shown.”

R.I.P Rob
Rob inspired me to raise some funds from MNDA last year, by cycling to a few North Wales Crusaders games at different grounds (Thatto Heath, Rochdale Hornets, Midlands Hurricanes and Cornwall). It was an incredible honour to be invited by MNDA to Headingley to take part in a reception with the Princess Royal.
I met Rob and his family at the reception and it was evident how much he was loved and how much he inspired all the people that were at the reception.
My thoughts with his family and friends.

24-25 final score...gutted
Absolutely gutted. Fair play to the lads today they put in a shift, but we should have shut the game down at 24-14. I have no idea of the penalty count in the second half but we let Oldham back in with a stream of soft penalties or mistakes.
We really should have won that - fair play to Oldham for pressing and pressing and forcing us to defend for what seemed like a very long second half.

I spoke to three of the Directors today and they were all very positive about the buyout.
Personally, I'm waiting for the RFL to approve the deal, then for the fans forum to actually meet the new owner/investor. Sound like hes got a background with various RL clubs so I'm hopeful that this will see North Wales Crusaders flourish in the coming years.

We have plenty of Wrexham FC fans who come to watch North Wales Crusaders. As a Wrexham boy, born and bred, I can only look over the fence with envy at the massive investment and success that Ryan Reynolds and Rob MacElhenny have brought to the Racecourse since their take over of Wrexham FC.
I always look out for their results and I'm happy for them when they win - but go to a game? Not any more, I gave up watching football in the 70's and wont be going back.
I do go along to the occasional Union game, but its mostly just televised games now. I certainly wouldn't miss a League game if there was a clash.

With 10 minutes to go before kick off, and the weather apps predicting electrical storms to continue till early evening, the game at the Alexander Stadium was nearly called off by the officals. Enough rain fell in 5 minutes to refloat the ark but the clouds eventually passed over and we got going 30 minutes late.
The signs were good when the handsome chap from the supporters club sucessfully handed over the matchball to club captain Matty Welham without dropping it.
It was a hard-fought game against 2 well-matched sides but Hurricanes got enough things right today to secure the points. Big result for me/us as it has been 7 years since we last beat Crusaders and that has been hurting.
MoM for me was Dave Hewitt but plenty of others were in contention.
Just home from Birmingham after a long drive from Cardiff to Birmingham then home to North Wales. A fair assessment of the game, YT
Was Hewitt no 17? If no I'd put in a shout for him as MotM.
Impressive thunder storm at the stadium today!! Our first time inside the stadium proper and I was very impressed with the set up - although the lack of low/no alcohol beers at the stadium bar could do with being addressed.
A well deserved win for the 'Canes today; the looked like they wanted it more and were the better team. Crusaders looked lost at times and our enthusiasm seemed to have evaporated with the rain. Well done on the win and looking forward to our next encounter to see if we can make a better fist of it next time.

WIns for Hunslet, Oldham and Rochdale.
The L1 game of the weekend will be Midlands Hurricanes v North Wales Crusaders. Hurricanes hitting good form (apart from a surprise loss to Cornwall) vs Crusaders who have lost their way with a series of losses.....however, I think Crusaders will have targeted this game and have enough firepower to get a win....IF they finish their sets well. Some improvement needed but I'm confident Crusaders can pull of a narrow win.
I'll be driving up from Cardiff after watching 4 Masters RL games in the Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday. 3 lots of Armed Forces/ Armed Forces Associates games followed by Wales Masters RL v Ireland Masters RL ...should be a cracking day of rugby league

Not the happiest of days in Old Colwyn unfortunately. After a competitive and entertaining first half and start of the second the Cru fell apart in the last quarter, the only downside for Keighley was one of their players having to be stretchered off with what look like from where I was a serious leg injury. With the next two games being a Hurricanes side that's discovered their mojo away and Oldham at home plus only a thin crowd today and the club raising the financial storm cones, things are looking a bit worrying down by the seaside.
A good assessment of todays game...our 5th tackle decision making was absent and we just couldn't finish our sets with any meaningful plays.
A massive call to arms by the club to get fans in seems to have fallen on deaf ears and the crowd was bolstered by a good amount of travelling support from Keighley.
Best wishes to the lad who was stretchered off...wishing him a speedy recovery.

The fixture list does nothing to help clubs build crowds. In the case of Rochdale, after next weekends game at Newcastle we have only 2 games in 42 days…just as we are getting our injured players back and finding some form. I am struggling to find another league in rugby or any other sport, with such a screwed up schedule of games (or no games).
It doesn't help looking at the league table either with some team having already played 9 game and some have only played 7. Its impossible to judge form given the difference in the amount of games teams have played....and then we all play dofferent strength teams 3 time...its a total shambles.

Best of luck to Thunder....what a tremendous set of supporters you have; very much involved in there being a rugby league club still playing in League 1. Very best wishes from North Wales Crusaders.

Workington and Cougars to win confortably.
North Wales Crusaders v Midlands Hurricanes will be be a close fought encounter. Midlands were the better team at the last fixture, preceded by a spectacular thunderstorm; lets hope we have fine weather and all the fireworks are on the pitch. Crusaders to edge it by a try.
