  1. Well done Wath Brow - well deserved. Looking at the table and the results the top 6 have dished up against each other, I think any of the 1-6 are capable of going all the way!
  2. I think it's an update issue as one of our lads has been to a disciplinary hearing this season
  3. 'Winter' team Moldgreen conceding in 'Winter' against 'Summer' team Myton ? Oh the irony
  4. Now the playoffs are all but confirmed (barring a big win for Siddal and a heavy defeat for Wath), who do you fancy? At this moment in time, Hunslet are the obvious pick but anything can happen in one off games. On top of that, there's very little to split places 2-6. Should be an interesting one!
  5. Players unavailable in the winter season?! Don't let Marauder hear you say that!
  6. I agree, Myton, St Pats & Normy for me. On the flipside, how do people see the playoffs panning out?
  7. Not being played this season. I believe Parkside won it last year, beating St Pats in the final. Was something like 24-0 from memory
  8. The answer, is unfortunately, is very few of each. Everyone seems to get tied up in the summer vs. winter debate and, to be frank, there's no right or wrong answer. For me, this is a Rugby League issue, not a summer/winter issue. Everyone is quick to point the figure at the RFL selling 'the summer dream' and also people saying the game is dead in winter. The truth is, summer works for some clubs (such as mine) and winter works for others. I think a major factor is that we have both summer and winter seasons so easily accessible for clubs. If one isn't working, they'll simply forfeit their fixtures and jump ship to the other season. This isn't good for anyone
  9. I'm told the NCL sent out an email highlighting the next 4 games (basically they were all top 6 clashes in the premier). The clubs who are on TV are 'in the know' I believe
  10. The fact you didn't answer my question, has answered my question.
  11. The Pennine League has deteriorated from 8/9 divisions to 4 in the last couple of seasons. How is this any better than what is going on in summer?
  12. According to the pennine league site, 6 of Moorends 18 fixtures were non-fulfilled - albeit not by yourselves. (unless you happened to win 30-0 a lot ) Surely you should get your own garden in order before you try and sensationalise winter. To me, the issue is much deeper rooted than summer/winter and different seasons suit different clubs
  13. Yes you would as Div 3 was only created in 2013. Kells and Pilks went from Div 3 to the prem (Kells winning all three divisions and Pilks being runners up) but neither win the prem the next year
  14. Siddal are a great club and I don't see them struggling... however I think the loss of Garrod, Sanderson etc. will have a big impact. Look at Miners last year after O'Brien left? 1. Thatto 2. Mayfield 3. Wath Brow 4. West Hull 5. Hunslet 6. Siddal 7. Kells 8. Underbank 9. Myton 10. Egremont 11. St Pats 12. Normanton
  15. Looks like a great win over your neighbours at the weekend. I look forward to coming over to your spot this weekend, should be a really tough game between the 2 early season pacesetters.
  16. I played in the Milford v Underbank game and agree he did a good job. He's a Welsh bloke and I was told he refereed Union professionally until quite recently - not sure how much truth there is in it though! Either way, he controlled a very physical game, very well.
  17. Does that mean it will not be a double header with the Div.1 playoff final this year as I believe the final of that is due to be played on the 29th?
  18. Kells and Wath Brow get their third home tie on the bounce along with York Acorn and Rochdale Mayfield drawing their semi-pro counterparts. An interesting tie, good luck to all! Can certainly see a few NCL sides in the hat for the fourth round.
  19. There's some great ties this weekend with a lot of representation from the NCL. Who's your money on to make it to round 3? Kells v Underbank Millom v Pilks Hunslet CP v West Hull Siddal v Northumbria uni Hull Dockers v Fev Wath Brow v Oulton Egremont v Rochdale Mayfield York Acorn v Distington Shaw Cross v Lock Lane
  20. Underbank are at home against Skirlaugh I believe, but that's all I know.
  21. Excellent news, roll on the new season!
  22. http://www.nationalconferenceleague.co.uk/news/article/14091/hunt-outlines-dual-registration-thoughts It seems the NCL are trying to sway the decision of the 'non-believers' of Dual Reg.For me it seems a rather biased statement from a person who should be acting as a neutral. Although the NCL is the pinnacle of the amateur game, the word 'amateur' should is the operative word. The players in this competition do not get paid, they play for the enjoyment of being in a tough comp, without the added seriousness of a pro club. To me, bringing in Dual Reg can only be detrimental to the NCL and will put even more pressure on clubs to keeping players. It'll be interesting to hear the final vote without clubs being an automatic 'yes' for a no vote.
