If Catalans didn't have to pay for teams to come over it would be much lower.

I think one round were the players wear the junior club soxs of there first club.
-
I thought the commentary, co-coms and pitch side analyse on the Leeds game was far superior to the other games. To me Tomkins et al are the number 1 team. Glad they relegated the other muppets to the secondary games.

Supposing you have a record, no matter how trivial? Bad enough when my local team played Toronto Wolfpack, blokes with a few mistomeaners got refused entry. We all know players have a bit of form.
-
Just looked a Hemels Facebook, after putting in new changing rooms and adding additional one's. They are now installing a gym, and it seems a new pitch along with leveling it, new drainage n sprinkler system. Good to see a Southern rugby league club which owns its own ground improving the facilities to such a high standard.

If you check Companies House, Cornwall accounts don't make pretty reading

I have heard through the grape vine, maybe down south we should rhe England Lions.Heart pathway, you have the northern teams, what about a southern one. That would put players on show, and show the strength of the SCL.

So have Skolars, what Broncos did to Skolars is no worse.

Should have followed Hemel Stags, regarding the infrastructure, got hold of a plot of land 40 years ago. Built a grandstand, spent £180, 000 on new changing rooms plus additional one's (£90,000) grant. Next season new pitch, drainage system, returfed, with pop up sprinkler system and levelled up. As for the playing side dropped out league1, SCL. Playing in East Premier with all local lads before going back in SCL. Think the club knew League1 was a mess. Swallowed there pride n did the sensible thing to survive. Sorry about going off topic. Without a sound business plan you find clubs will finish up the swanny without a paddle. -

As I said in a post about Newcastle Thunder. You raise the money for next season, but what about the following season's. I wish them luck. I take it monies raised will not go.on wages to people involved with the club administration or players. -
Sorry about about the picture, can't delete. Meant to vid of Eng v France in Avinigon

Back in the day when Thunder started they got 75k from central funding, last season 15k, now possibly less when the deal kicks in. I admire people fundraising and good luck all, BUT raising money for one season is not enough you need about £120,000 a season to compete at a basic level. I think.a few more teams will struggle next season. Just me a Grinch.

Rumours re signings at London Broncos 2024
newbe replied to watcherofRL's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
They would be a bit old now -
Is there some one mad enough to put in a minimum of £100,000, and not of lot support from the RFL
-
If the RFL step in to help Skolars, then they would have to help most clubs in League 1.
-
I think a lot of the Skolars players might come back, at one point Skolars had up to 7 players in the team associated with Stags.
-
Since them days a new private company has taken over from the council, they will want top money in rent. Good sporting facilities are few n far between. As person who lives in North London I know.
-
Where will they play, I should imagine the company that own New River Stadium will want rent. They have no real income. I should imagine players will go back to amateur clubs near were they live.
-
Sorry for Skolars, but the next thing is what will happen to the league, as it stands 9 teams that is not competitive. Will they have to play each other 3 times which would be a farce.
-
Don't forget Hemel Stags won NCL 3, before they went to league1. Held there own for 2 seasons, then the RFL changed the league structure. That's why the expansion clubs struggled.

Sun 20th Aug: The Betfred League One Match Thread

Hate to say this but Skolars should compete in the Southern Conference League and rebuild. Looking at the last team weeks sheet there was 7 players who brought through by Hemel Stags. If they played for Hemel they would be the dominant force in the community league, plus they are one of most financial stable clubs around. Matched the £90,000 granted from Sport England. Now relaying a new pitch with new drainage, an leveling the pitch. Have also heard RFL use marketing materials at club.
