Korbin Simms goes from a $350,000-400,000 / year contract at Newcastle to a $85,000 / year contract at the Broncos.

Assuming the figures aren't wrong, it smells of salary cap circumventing to me. What happened to the "market value" component of the contracts?
If confirmed, I think Radrandra is about to beat Hayne in the 'dream' department.
But hey, 3 years in France and he can play for the test side. I read somewhere they already have a fijian or two in their national team. Most unions sides are nothing more than 'Barbarians' teams nowadays.
Not so fast G Las D! Taumalolo hasn't signed with Cronulla yet
The rest is spot on. Agents (can't stand them, btw) are now using the NFL (in addition to the Rugby Union) card to drive prices (and their fat commission) up. I doubt either Holmes or Taumalolo would make it anyway.
Valentine Holmes and Jason Taumalolo supposedly travelled to the U.S. to trial for unnamed NFL team(s).
It'll keep them occupied for a while before going back to their NRL routine.
Bad choice of words, I agree. But in the NRL, it's how it goes. First offense, warning, Second offense, 12-game ban. Contract deregistration might be the automatic punishment for a third offense. Anyone knows?
It might very well be the case. At the Sharks or other clubs. Regarding positives tests for recreational drugs , it appears that the NRL keeps everything under wraps if its the first offense but throws the book at you (penalty: 12 weeks suspension) in case of a second offense.
Barba suspended following a positive drug test post GF (cocaine). Going to rehab in Thailand. He asked to be released by Cronulla which was granted.
Never a dull moment with this club. Thank God we won the big thing at last.
What's next? Salary cap breach? Showing pornographic images during a presentation? More dog humping?
It'll be interesting to see what the NRL does if Bennett ever decides to use Lodge. Especially after the grandstanding we've seen from NRL management in recent times.
Thanks. It makes even more sense if his off field influence is so important.
The Burgess twins might provide some good go forward if they held onto the pill.
What's your take on that? Good thing or not?
He looked busted for most of the season and rather ineffective the few times I've watched South.
And without the benefit of a full off season to recuperate, I don't see how 2017 would be any different let alone 2018 and beyond.
I think this guy has nailed it.
