Start small, sell out early, create demand and a must go to event. Also the point of magic was a marketing tool, not so bottom feeder clubs could have a big day out...
-
It is if you limit attendance and drive up the price, at the moment its too easy to get tickets to events, the aim should be to sell out on the day tickets are released
-
PNE ?
-
Massive cash prize is easily sorted, new competition, new sponsorship, seperate TV deal, winner takes all half a mil, 80-160k ticket prices, small venue, 25-30k tickets averaging 100 is 2.5 -3 mil in gate receipts alone
-
If you want to keep fans in the stadium then it should be a seperate cup, league stage day 1, knock out stage day 2. Obvs that means the teams would need to stay over so would increase costs. I think the approach to selling tickets is very amateurish with no package tickets with partner hotels and travel companies. Looking at the NFL London games ticket only options are sold last. Also why are we discounting ST holders 50% off, surely the discounts should go to community clubs in the target area, so this year North East Community clubs 50% off group booked tickets etc.. For me I would take Magic to a smaller stadium and increase ticket prices, 80-160 price range. 30k seater max.

You can of its a RL venue which is where it tends to be, wazza, saints, Leeds etc.. Suppose they could book west Yorkshire venues now as they are central and would be neutral -
Orrell want to buy this back and presume any grant would be to bring back into use for both codes as a minimum ?

What now for the French national team?
yipyee replied to Gerrumonside ref's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Your missing the point... People buy Glastonbury tickets before they even know the performers, they buy horse racing tickets to big events without knowing the runners, they do this because the same events happen every year and people go to the event, not to see a certain entertainer etc... This used to happen with the challenge cup final, set event every year at a set time in the calender. Didnt matter who was playing it was a date people stuck in the calender for a day/weekend away. -

I think stick with it and develop it. If it was set in stone for the may Bank Holiday every year it would become a thing and the opposition or quality of opposition wouldn't matter -

You can't discriminate against them so English players don't count as overseas in the rules. Same as French players in a SL squad don't count as overseas players. Not sure on the new rules but when both countries was in the EU other laws were in place which also prevented restrictions. -

Well that messes up the semi final for the semi pro cup.. maybe this game could count for both games, save on travel costs -

Halifax vs Saints ... I know saints have had a bad run but.... -
Everytime a player is interviewed he plays himself down as part of a system etc. When coaches are interviewed and asked about individual players they go on about the system and processes. The lack of stars is our own doing because of the above, a MOTM isn't highlighted for being great etc.. Another part of this is society in general though there are no movie stars like there used to be. Theres a thing in called the marvel effect now as in people name charicters thats in films and not the actors etc... Typically when one person dominates a sport they become a household name. We have gone on a path of salary cap and even spread of talent etc which has been self destroying. Interestingly our biggest names in Sinfield and Farrell are in the other code.

So off field facilities, womens team and academy, sounds like building the corner stones af a SL bid. Guess Ford has to play it down though.

I for one think the clubs new exactly what IMG had planned well in advance of the press release. Infact everyone from outside the game doing a review comes up with the same plan, we will progress as a sport but then because a few old timers in Yorkshire don't like it we will swing back full circle.

The case for two-point field-goals
yipyee replied to Martyn Sadler's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
The good thing with golden point is there are opportunity's for players to gain experience in extra time. Maybe saints wouldn't have won in penrith if they hadn't played golden point games over here and let's be honest they messed up a couple of field goal attempts
