With due respect to Cornwall, think this should be a comfortable win by 40 points

Totally agree with you, hopefully we’ll be fully recovered and firing on all cylinders once again after the tough game we had against Widnes. It was very clear to me against Hunslet that we’d had only a short turnaround and Hunslet had two weeks off,but credit to the players they hung in there.

No disrespect to Cornwall but we should be putting a score on them and treat it as we’re playing one of the top sides. The game also gives us the opportunity to maybe make one or two changes, bring Callium Jordan back? I’ll make the first prediction.

What would it take for you to credit us as a team?

To go through the season unbeaten and lift the 1895 cup 😉

You should never believe gobby players of other team's for reliable information 🤔🤣🤣

Apparently a lot of talk coming out of the Hunslet camp.

I'd rather us have a Cup shock that we remember in decades to come than win what is a fairly low standard league competition which is, in all likelihood, going to see a change of format in the near future.

Id rather us have both,a cup win tomorrow against Widnes and especially promotion out of championship 1 because we need to back into the championship otherwise I reckon we’ll be cast adrift with all the changes that are coming.

  6. This will be another tough test as we found out in the challenge cup,but we are stronger for this game than we were for the cup game. We need to keep this winning streak going and I think we will.

Personally just seen that this tie is to be screened on The Sportsman channel. Anyone know if the club(s) receive a broadcasting fee? Asking because the attendance figure is likely to be affected. Don’t get me wrong personally it came in handy for me this week as I could not travel to Workington.

They don’t get a fee, same with Via Play who screen the championship games.

I'm sure we'll have to pay Rams at least for the electricity for their lights (which are worse than ours.

Yes you will. If our lights are worse than yours, how come we can stage the game but Batley can’t?

  11. Watched the game on Sportsman I had the benefit of seeing replays. Town should have had a try as the ball was on the line but unfortunately the ref was unsure so he looked to his touch judge who must have been the same as it wasn’t given. As for the appeals for a knock on which led to a try for us,for me the Workington player ripped the ball out,my opinion of course. I honestly thought the referee got most of the calls right,I was a bit baffled by his six again calls against us though, did we do anything different to you?

Best team won, but we competed well enough for most of the game. Rams were quicker around the ruck than we were and were a lot more polished in their attacking plays. That said it took a couple of poor refereeing decisions to take the game away from us. That had to be a try under the sticks wasn't it? Can anyone that watched it on TV confirm? And they also scored a try from what looked like a dropped ball in contact which was a 12 point swing and could have made it a different game.

If the rams are the best team in the competition we aren't that far behind. A good experienced half back like a Sykes would make a big difference to us. Our last play kicks are pretty poor on the whole, and we don't have that player that just guides us around dictating the attacking plays. But we are still miles better than I expected at the end of last season.

Let's hope we learn and keep improving UTT.

  13. They will be a few Rams fans in attendance unfortunately I won’t be among them which is a shame as I love a away day at Workington. One or two players back in squad that didn’t feature last week so we should be at full strength. Watched the highlights of your game against Doncaster and I thought you were very unlucky. We are going to have to match you physically in the forwards to give us a chance of coming away with the win. Everyone seems to think we are the favourites to come straight back up but I don’t think theirs anything between us,Workington,Oldham,Doncaster and Hunslet. Think we might have a better idea come tomorrow teatime. It’s makings of a great game so I hope it is. Good luck for the season, apart from the two games against us of course.

We were poor last year and you don't have the best record at Derwent Park. I'm not going to call it but should be an absolute cracker.

Both teams were poor last season and that’s why we were relegated. No disrespect to those who we’ve already played but this is our biggest test so far. Like you say it’s the making of been a cracker, may the best team win. Any win will do for me whether it’s by 1 point or 20.

Hope to see a few of you at the Town this Sunday .Are you gunning for promotion this season ? Think as far as Town are concerned i would prefer another season in Div 1 . Unless you have the finances for the Championship , its really tough as we found out last year .

Quite a few travelling for the game, filled a coach and a few going in there cars. Unfortunately I won’t be there as I’ve got a prior engagement this weekend. This should be a good game against a team that are playing some attractive rugby from what I’ve seen of your highlights, very unlucky against Doncaster last Sunday.
