Wasn't this deal done so they'd get a transfer fee? No one actually thinks he'll be there in 8 years. If so it's smart buisness isn't it?

That is a pretty cynical way of looking at AI - Rather than looking at the benefits of utilising it in various fields where humans wouldn't even be able to compete. I saw one place that was using AI to analyse speech patterns in adults to try and detect early signs of dementia (I can't recall if it was dementia or Alzheimer's) - Something AI will be able to do, but a human would never be able to do
And define "poor" in this instance - I recall watching something on AI not too long ago that compared it to automation in factories - Machines taking the jobs from manual labour factory jobs. Now people are saying with AI it will replace those people working in offices, etc. Does "poor" just mean not a millionaire in this case?
Just this once Click Yes I am very cynical but mostly the people I'm mistrustful of have not only earned it but wear it like a badge of honour. The benefits is as much a red herring as it is a convincing motif I'm afraid; and Who needs workers that need to eat, sleep and pee, if it's cheaper it will replace anything that isn't.
Why on earth would you want me to define poor ? I can't imagine you have trouble recognising when it happens or who it's happening to when it overtakes them.

Bit overly simplistic - maybe it's easier to raise money and build support for a club that is showing some ambition? I would bet that they are still nowhere near the cap.
Good luck SRD.
All I can say FTV is you must love standing out like a sore thumb!
SRD were one of the few I've seen to far to put the news that Physical Disability is on at the magic Weekend once again. And their Arise vid shows inclusivity and fanbase is at the heart of all this.
But for some good news is not news.

As I keep saying hear it from SRD fans themselves before you speak for them.

.How can you literally put words into peoples mouths which they have never said and publish it as an "actual" interview .
In actual fact this is only a small step from what the legacy media have been up to for years.
The purpose of AI is that it's supposed to replace poor peoples' jobs or poor people altogether and anything else is icing on the cake.

There's not really a basis for that suggestions other than the town's own team struggle to attract crowds, internationals have always done very well here, maybe that is one of the reasons why it's been chosen?
Given all this data and the crowd v France it would be easy to argue: RL fans don't want or like international RL.

My wife persuaded me to go through a few old TV stuff among which was the West Wing. It's fascinating and seems like it doesn't belong to the world we now live in except maybe for echoes in quotes like " I'm sick of years and years of having to choose between the lesser of who cares!" Art mirrors UK life in the 21st century.

So no, it isn't born this Spring as a last desperate action.
Often haggis the problem is not what people know but what's left out, SRD could well be on the way out and if so they won't be the last and maybe not the first.

And yet another debate degenerates into an us and them argument that ends up blaming them. This is what made RL Great everyone the ability to hold internecine battles and wars to no purpose and less outcome.

I don't know how you've managed to meet each other and was about to suggest a TRLers Tshirt to help sort this out but it seems only two of us need one.

Just read : A Party with Socialists in It: A History of the Labour Left & Left for Dead?: The Strange Death and Rebirth of the Labour Party
Very much history mixed with fiction for the most part, both intriguing but altogether a story that exists in that twilight zone between yesterday's non-news items and extinction.
The dismantling of the idea of Labour unity as an entity is less interesting than a book about cake mixes and batter recipes when all's said and done.

Haha. Yep, I agree!
Just feel the game, in order to create a better 'Northern Hemisphere' future somehow needs to invest in its neighbours. I.e. France being the first. Australia has the benefit of a broad base of NZ, and Pacific Island players being in the NRL. Its not the same here in GB nearly as much - but, if the game can create player pathways into the highest and lower leagues, then the game as a whole benefits.
This thread is about France. But, imagine 'if' each SL club was committed and positioned over the next 10 years to:
- Raising up players from the French....and (here me right - im just dreaming!) Serbian, Welsh, or wherever we feel a country has a genuine footprint for development in the NH. Or maybe each SL team has a 'nation' that they get salary dispensation for, for being in their regular first team squad....development! The you have 10 years down the line something close to competitive development. A genuine NH competition.
Just a ten year commitment to something out the ordinary!.....I'll continue to just imagine hey.
Essentially it's only what clubs do with things like Welsh connections and African ones so it's hardly a bridge too far.
Of course had we had free movement this would be alot less challenging but that's history and it's all a case of : Are we serious about this, now?

It was the line about sports clubs winning matches. Will no relegation lead to more competitiveness?
It is noteworthy that the argument has often been "dead rubbers" and "meaningless fixtures" yet barely mentioned when it comes to IMG and a lack of P&R.
One thing I recall about past fixtures was that lower clubs actually won trophies and I do wonder whether or not it was due to the amount of competitions we had that increased their chances. And maybe with so many comps when you lost in one you knew there'd be another opportunity along in a moment!
Of course going upwards by the quality of your organisation is very seductive and appealing even so.

To improve the French national team over the next 5 years, how about:
1. Give Catalans 100% dispensation for French born players in the regular 1st team starting squad.
2. Give English SL clubs 50% salary dispensation for having French born players in their 1st team regular playing squad.
Bolsters numbers across SL clubs, and regular playing time. Provides pathways and chances for promising French youngsters in the Elite.
Thoughts? Issues?
Great stuff that BL.
I'm afraid there's too much prejudice and assertive feelings over this kind of issue to let solutions work, especially good ones.

Yes I know, but far more often he was cast as something else ....

At first I was amazed this thread still had legs but then I realised you working on your co-writing of 13 Mays and Soho Memoirs!
I can't wait for this to be published.
Though I doubt John Thaw although he seemed to be cast as everything at one time would ever be cast as a Northerner.
