  1. Addy Springer Gale And every other Fev player on the pitch!
  2. We have constructed charts showing the top 20 Championship players in a variety of categories. It was originally devised for Featherstone supporters so Fev players are colour coded in white on Navy background and Fev’s next opponents in a red font. Access the information by clicking on the link below. You might like to look at other posting's in fevnut's blog. 3. Greetings to our rugby league friends Every week of the season fevnut writes a blog that includes his ‘musings’ column. Although it is primarily about Fev (obviously) fans of our opposition teams have enjoyed taking a look. This week we start by travelling back in time to Fev’s amazing performance against Trinity at the start of 1977. We also write about Brian Carney’s suggestion for a change in the disciplinary and exp[lain the flaw in another proposal that came in February from a source we usually agree with. We end by posing a question on which player in Fev’s history has the greatest try to appearances record. Access the article by using the link below and then by using the links on the top left-hand side of the page (by clicking on ‘Archive’) you can find all sorts of information including previous ‘fevnut’s musings’ articles. fevnut's musings 2024/#07: Fev Slaughter Wakefield, Disciplinary System and Who is it?

  7. The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. Like many, we were appalled by the sending-off of Nu Brown while playing for Hull FC. Then we read what he had to say about it and they are words that everyone should read. The transfer of Ben Reynolds to Hull KR has prompted anger amongst many Fev fans but now we have time to reflect we have begun to look at it in a different way and distinguish between the relationship of fans to a club and that of players. https://fevnut.blogspot.com/2024/03/fevnuts-musings-202406-nu-brown-and-ben.html

  10. Greetings to our rugby league friends Every week of the season fevnut writes a blog that includes his ‘musings’ column. Although it is primarily about Fev (obviously) fans of our opposition teams have enjoyed taking a look. In Fev’s last game we used six different goal-kicker’s. We have delved into the record books to see if it has ever happened before. Has your club ever used as many as six? Next, we reveal research we have undertaken as to how many former Fev players are currently with Super League, Championship and League One clubs. I doubt many people would have guessed there to be as many as actually is the case. The RFL has issued guidelines on ‘Respect’ but sadly there are still fans who treat with players with awful disrespect and we express our dismay at one in particular we have recently seen on social media. Finally we quote something said last week by a SKY commentator. For once we totally agree but it is in complete contradiction to what the RFL/IMG partnership is doing to our game. Access the article by using the link below and then by using the links on the top left-hand side of the page (by clicking on ‘Archive’) you can find all sorts of information including previous ‘fevnut’s musings’ articles. https://fevnut.blogspot.com/2024/02/fevnuts-musings-202405-goal-kickers.html

  13. The current format (14 teams and 27 games) only came in in 2019. Leading Try scorers in League Games: 2019 Matty Ashton, Swinton Lions,30; 2020 No comparison - only 5 games played by each team because of Covid; 2021 Gareth Gale, Fev, 27 (but only 21 games played by Fev because of Covid); 2022 Theerapol Ritson, Barrow Raiders, 28; 2023 Lachlan Walmsley, Halifax Panthers, 36. Interesting that several of these were by players at clubs well down the league!
  14. These charts for ALL matches. Once the league season starts I publish a separate chart for just League Matches. The title 'Championship' refers to players at Championship Clubs.

Although it is primarily about Fev (obviously) fans of our opposition teams have enjoyed taking a look. Two weeks ago we wrote about the fixtures shambles that has left Fev with a long opening to the season without a home game. That was an unlucky draw in the Challenge Cup. But this week we look at a much more damaging outlook for several Championship and League One clubs because of the way the fixtures have been drawn up. Then, we delve into the realms of fantasy in a desperate attempt to find a way through for Fev into the quarter final of the 1895 Cup with the prospect of still of making it to Wembley! 18. It's unlikely but I would love to see the Halifax v Hammersmith Hills Hoists match played on the Saturday - I was born at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, Hammersmith! But going to the Fev match is still my priority.
  19. No, it was for abusing opponent. Not the most sensible thing to do in the week when the RFL launched their RESPECT policy.
  20. fevnut’s musings 2024/#03: Batley, Amateurs in Challenge Cup and other 'Miscellaneous' Matches The latest edition of ‘fevnut’s musings’ is now available to read. This week we write about the Batley match and take a rather different perspective to the doom, gloom and anger we saw on social media. After that, stimulated by our Challenge Cup tie against Thatto Heath we have researched all Fev’s matches against amateur teams and then go on to reveal the history of Fev matches in other competitions against teams not within the RFL professional structure. 21. That's right. I'll do the Batley and Thatto Heath and then I would be very grateful if you took over.
  22. Hi all, I have had a message from Rob Smith to say that his Dad is currently in hospital. I will do the totals for the Batley and Hunslet matches but am unable to do it beyond that. P)lease could we have a volunteer to do it from after the Thatto Heath game until Colin is able to continue. I would do it but with doing fevnut's blog I simply don't have the time normally. It's just fortunate that I can do the Batley and Thatto games because we have no match on the weekend of Feb 18.
  23. Bill H - I would message you with my email, but I don't know how to contact you.
  24. Thank you for that. I was aware that Don coached Batley but not that he had played for them. Can you tell me please in which seasons he played?
