  1. Awful Cas performance. What a mess. The only positive is that it will make it really difficult for the board to give Last the head coach job as they had intended. The physical state of several of the players is appalling. Let alone the attitude (Watts messing about on his phone at half time pretty much sums it up). Not that surprising though when the head coach went on holiday for 5 weeks of the pre-season, sorting himself a new job in the process. The CEO allowing that is beyond believe. The club need to act quickly to avoid relegation, new coach needed, hopefully one that brings a decent S and C coach with him, albeit its pretty hard to recondition players during the season. Ideally I wouldn't be seeing Fonua in a Cas shirt again and I wish Edwards would stick his finger up someone's bum again and have a few months on the sidelines.
  2. Just watching the game, not read prior posts. Enduring thought, and stating the obvious, is how good is Jack Welsby? Complete player, defensively and offensivel. Absolute quality, credit to the system, training and professionalism of Saints, as well as been a freakish talent.
  3. If true, by far the saddest thing about this is professional sportsmen knocking on there opponents door and running away after a loss.
  4. Tomkins Mackinson Connor Isa Fonua Welsby Norman Napa Mclorrum Partington LMS Bentley Smithies Edwards Powell Watts Tetevano 18th man Knowles
  5. Danny Orr would be a cracking appointment for Feath if they could tempt him.
  6. Didnt Hodgeson sign the Reynolds/Gale pairing? If be surprised if Pearson showed much patience with him next season. Will need a very good start to buy himself a bit of security.
  7. Having a fair old crack at beating Powell to the sack is Hodgson..
  8. He was man of the match by a fair way vs Cats last week. Seems to have lost his consistency though and tonights performances are more common than last weeks.
  9. Cas were good tonight. As resiliant as you like. Defence and determination win the day.
  10. Toulouse ultimately a few quality signings away from staying up. There recruitment was always a bit limited - but wonder if the chairman is kicking himself a bit now. They were obviously disadvantaged starting recruitment later than other teams but theres been a fair bit of mid season player movement this year that might have provided the opportunities they needed.
  11. Still think Wire will go on to win this by a couple of scores. If they dont win, I think despite the backing Powell is getting it may be untenable for him to stay.
  12. Not sure about that, hes no great shakes in defence either. Yep, hes definitely no halfback for me. Decent centre, average full back.
  13. Which coaches? Hes hardly had top clubs clambering for his signature, even when a free agent. It's only the commentators who blow him up like some kind of world beater.
  14. I think the issue with the Cas injuries are slightly different to that of Wakey in that the injuries are focused on two key positions, we are essentially down to our 5th choice fullback and 5th choice halfback. Wakefield problems are more about the number of starting 17 players which are missing (at least 12 of Cas's likely 17 for Friday would make a strongest 17 imo, I'd guess Wakeys will be lower).
  15. Pretty sure that's wrong. Quotas relate to how many you can register I think.
  16. Definitely, playing with some confidence and seems to have toughened up a bit under Radford. His goal kicking is a massive positive too. He had a potentially career ending neck injury at the start of the year too. I think confidence is a huge thing was him, the worry would just be that dipping. OOC at the end of the year, Cas undecided was the latest. IF we have signed Widdop, Miller and with Mclelland, O Brien contracted next year, it might be difficult to get him in under cap. Which would be a shame as I think he offers more than the other options (hes better than Miller, Mclelland and O Brien imo and will be on less than Widdop).
  17. This. Every teams depleted at this point, by my reckoning Cas had 10 missing last night and Hull had at least 9.
  18. To be honest I've always felt hes a bit error prone, makes some questionable defensive reads and not that clinical as a finisher - countering that were his carriers and metres made. Since the loss to Wigan (were he had a shocking 2nd half) he seems to be on another level. Hes moved from the right to the left side and looks far more comfortable to me which may be a factor. Long may it continue (well until he goes to Leeds that is!).
  19. His best game all season to be honest, probably more involved with only one 'natural' half. Definitely stepped up.
  20. I'd fancy Leeds to win this. Cas will be forced to go with one half back and probably Westerman as the second. With no Mcshane too, it essentially means every 5th tackle play will be with Richardson. If Smith has anything about him Richardson will be under pressure all game, especially tackles 4 and 5.
  21. At least Hodgeson cant be sacked live on sky this week....
