  1. mj1970 as you don’t give your name i have no idea whether you have ever made a mistake that you could be criticised for whether major or minor which is one advantage you have.

As far as the fault of not publicising the winner of our draw then i suppose you have a point for anybody who bought a ticket but was not there. I was going to do a video today but i have been unable to and i have some further work tomorrow so will maybe get it out some other way. The half time draw was published as it was not claimed but it now has been.

Presumably as you did not buy any tickets because of your withdrawal of support it did not affect you much in either draw.

As for some people not coming to support us since 2003 due to my attitude then not sure what to say. If there is enough of you i am happy to listen to your frustrations  in a face to face meeting or always listen to a bid to take over if appropriate but if you won’t meet up not sure what i can do.

As for trying to attack my character and conduct as a solicitor that is unnecessary. There is no dishonesty there so not sure of relevance and that issue is over with so i will not get into any discussion further but you have tried to embarrass me for no good reason.

i have practiced as a solicitor running my own firm since January 1989 and still do but from home only for people i know. I closed my office in Manchester when i sold the building and had thousands of old files to destroy and i paid a third party to do that. During that process a handful of files somehow found their way into a waste bin near the rear of my offices which clearly they should not have done. Luckily one person found them and handed them to a newspaper who could not then pass them into the wrong hands so nothing worse happened. The paper printed an embarrassing article. In truth  i had no idea how they got into the bin as clearly i did not put them there but suspect a box was stolen from the rear of a van taking the files away and when the thief then believed them to be worthless put them in the nearest bin.It was investigated by the authorities and no action was taken against me. That was the end ot it. It was my responsibility but a third party either momentarily forgot to lock the van they were loading or for some reason put a box in a bin but took all the others to destroy them.

i will say no more but it was regretable  and embarrassing at the time but hardly something to attack me for linked to running the Club.

If there are anymore personal attacks rather than criticism about running the Club then have the decency to put your real name to it but hopefully it is just mj1970 who for some reason i have upset.
Anyway onto the Bash. Looking forward to this weekend.

  2. We did it on the pitch at half time. We put all purchases in order 1- 1,000 and used a random number selector to pick 564 which we knew was Will Linley as we had a list and then Will came forward from the crowd.

We will do another official one when we announce  the next £1,000 draw.

  3. The Draw will take place tomorrow at the game v Widnes which is absolutely brilliant. A big thank you to everyone for buying tickets. It’s 5.30pm on Saturday and so far we have sold 939 so if not bought tickets hurry up if want a chance to win £1,000 tomorrow as only 61 tickets left!!!!

We will then have some excellent news about the next draw and the superb support we are receiving.

Just need a great game tomorrow and a good crowd.

  4. Can see the point in that. At 2.50pm we have sold 867 so if we can get to 900 by teatime worth thinking about taking the risk to guarantee draw takes place tomorrow and hope we sell another 100 tickets.

  5. Had a surge of sales in last hour so at 12.30 we have sold 842!!!

With another surge we could get over the line to do the draw tomorrow at the game which would be excellent.

If anybody fancy winning £1,000 now is the time!!!

  6. I note all your comments. If don’t want to meet personally to discuss i have no issue with that.  I’ve not said we won’t have a public forum so certainly that is an option to let anyone say what they want and let people ask whatever they want.

Anyway just cooling off after another  superb win when both teams playing in that heat were phenomenal Really happy with that win now looking forward to seeing John & Dawn Kear back at the Club and another great game.

  7. Good to see Colin offering to meet to chat with anyone as probably better meeting people face to face.

Just to confirm also i am happy to meet up with mj1970, Barfield lad or indeed anybody else or any group of people if got a spare hour and want to ask any questions about anything . If have a public forum which i know other Clubs with concerns are having eg. Bulls then i know some people do not always feel comfortable asking questions in a big group hence happy to meet in whatever size group from 1 upwards.

  8. This is not sold out.

will update on Tuesday regarding sales as would like to see it sold out before Widnes game.

I have enquired about issues and if is any issue willtry to get it sorted

  9. I was taken aback by comments regarding our charity so let’s put that to one side.

All other criticism I can accept and listen to and Drigdog was right I said we couldn’t be precious about criticism.

As for a new BOD then again that is a matter of criticism so a fair point although perhaps a bit surprising in my view when we are debt free, have a decent stadium and sit 4th in Championship. All the sport are suffering with low crowds which the sport is trying to address through Rfl and a new partner. Also there is no queue of wealthy individuals looking to give money to RL Clubs but if anyone thinks there are people then my only point was you find them and direct them to me to discuss.

The Club is not at risk of going under but we are losing money which will hamper our wish to be at the top of the table fighting for promotion not at the bottom fighting relegation. We are looking at ways to address that with help.

i will leave it that that for now.

  10. Sometimes i totally despair. Thankfully not too often or i would pack in tomorrow.

mj1970 and Barfield lad just suddenly appear have have plenty to say. Well perhaps you could join forces and find a person with plenty of £’s who is willing to put it into the Club with no strings attached and tell them to come and speak to me. Tell them they won’t have to wait long as there isn’t a queue.
in the meantime the present board will keep trying hard to improve and regrettably for mj1970 Beverley’s Pink Weekend will continue.

  11. Wish we had sold out so quickly. I thought same that it was unbelievably quick!! But… sadly a technical hitch which has now been rectified!!

Still plenty to sell so we lease buy now and let’s get it sold out.

If sells out fairly quickly will do another one and may even up the prize so on social media need to share it as people can buy without leaving home and can be interested in winning £1,000 even if no interest in Bulldogs or Rugby League for that matter.

  12. I just want to say that whatever is put on here whether critical or not is fine as we can’t be too precious if inviting input and these are very difficult, challenging and worrying times ahead which is even more depressing when our present team is doing so well and we are watching great rugby.

  13. Correct that first box was a Community office and we did get some funds towards that. Now the office is the portacabin lower down where we got no further funding. Thinking about it that first box could be used for sponsors on match days if not used by the Community team.

As from this year website traffic has been removed by Rfl as a funding factor for whatever reason. We will get out there the names of all boxes. I am not saying the website is of no use just apparently not the  first port of call perhaps nowadays. So if looking for particular information about the Club maybe but not the first place to browse for news and not the place to prompt people from. Still should be a good source of information and news though.

  14. I keep getting told websites  are oldhat and everything is social media so is this wrong? I have no idea.

The boxes in K2 Stand are sold out with season long sponsors apart from one big one near half way line. They were not built with lottery funding but with the help from sponsors and monies from finishing in Middle8’s in 2016 by the way.

The boxes have got signs on with names of explayers but due to lockdown maybe we have not publicised  them enough which we will do now. This is interesting for fans but regrettably doesn’t get more people to Club. So there is plenty of things that we are open to criticism for but moving forward how can we get it out there to get more people watching us is a massive problem which we have not solved and if we are to survive we need to. We as a Club are not alone by the way.

  15. As for coaches then Supporters Club would still run a coach if could get people to go I am sure. A 50 seater needs 50 people to make it pay not 10 and cost of a coach now is ridiculous so it can’t run at a loss. I so wish we could take a full coach to away games but I don’t think we can. If I am wrong please let 50 tell me I am and we will rectify it.

  16. John puts news out on Twitter & Facebook yet it either doesn’t get to people’s notice or it does but has no impact on whoever sees it. We ask people to share posts again to try to get it out there. But is it working?

We need to sell the Grand Draw tickets, we need to get bigger gates than 800, we need to engage with people. We are trying but it appears we are failing. Anybody any ideas how we can improve because we are frustrated and not sure what to do. We let people in for £11 but still can’t get 1,000 there. We win games and play decent rugby but still....

There must be something we can do but are not doing.
