Yeah Dylan is definitely a tough kid who has mixed it with the hard men of the NRL from day one.

Not sure the relevance of Gallen's, or any other NRL players, fighting ability has anything to do with being an enforcer in the NRL these days. The fear of getting dropped if you p*ssed off the wrong guy are long gone. For example i've no doubt SBW could outbox Sam but that didn't stop Sam intimidating him on the field many times over the years. Tallis, Harragon and even as recently as Morley wouldn't be the type of 'enforcer' we recognised them as back then in today's game.

You were the one who quoted Gallen having boxed as a measure of his "hardness"

Nothing like an armchair expert view who quotes a million reasons for not attending games and has a long sad history of inaccurate & laughable posts about British players that sums up a total lack of knowledge of the game.

Given Australia's long history of having zero boxing talent,Gallen having a few "fights" against bums dragged from Kings Cross nightspots isn't much of a statement.

Im a Roosters fan but JWH is a bigger liability than Sam Burgess,he's also up at the disciplinary this week.

Napa liked a good shot but didn't fancy the hard yards and lived off that Souths game for 3 seasons.

Never seen him take a backward step against anyone - except Dylan Napa a few years back. Paul Gallen......please - he's the same as the likes of Ben Westwood over here, hard as nails in his day and postures a lot but nobody actually has any real fear of running at them. Burgess protects his team by putting himself in the firing line week in week out. Sometimes it backfires.

Sam Burgess looks set to miss the start of the finals for hair pulling

    Hair pulling! What the hell

I am fast coming to the conclusion that with his error rate and disciplinary issues that Burgess is more of a liability than an asset these days.  He really needs to sort himself out and return to being one of the best players in the world.

So it is only competitive when you say so? ? Okay

Why is what you describe in the NZ series any different from when Origin is a dead rubber and the losing state strolls home in the third?

    I did not say that.

Rarely do SOO teams stroll over in  the third game.

I agree with some of the blunt stuff you say but FFS.

England lost to Ausralia 6-0 in Australia 21 months ago, and have beaten NZ 3 times out of 4 last year. NZ beat Australia before they came to England last year, and then lost to back-to-back tests to England. How balanced do you want it to be?

I do not look at results where one team beats another and then this team beats that team that beat the other team.

The last series where England beat New Zealand 2-1 they were put through the cleaners in the final game of the series, that is never a good sign.

New Zealand are like the Warriors a hot and cold side, their fluctuating form may be detrimental to them going forward.

2 years ago he was in the World XIII. He was today but it's not been that long since he was top-class, his injury's clearly shaken him.

Those World squads are a bit like Golden Boot selections.

An old boys Club that decide how many from each top big three get a spot to make the game look balanced at International level.

There's not many coaches or player's who come out of the other side of the graveyard that is Gold Coast Titans intact, Watkins entering it as damaged goods already was foolhardy in the extreme.

As to why Holbrook is kissing his coaching career goodbye by taking it on defies belief, he really must be desperate to get back to Australia (or leave StEllens)

The Titans have the core of a good squad, they have shown what they can do several times this season.

They have a very negative culture it seems.

Holbrook will see this as his chance to add to his resume, a Titans that come halfway next year will see his prospects in the game shine.

SL does not get a lot of exposure in Australia, what he has achieved there is what he has used to leverage his NRL spot.

Watkins has probably signed with the worst club in Rugby League. Titans being beaten 46-0 with 20min to go against the Sydney Roosters.

Worst in the NRL at the moment.

Worst in Rugby League? not even close.

As a Test player and SL big name player he is making his way cautiously into the NRL, he got brushed off in defense several times today.

to be fair I doubt Watkins has ever faced a team of even half the quality of that roosters outfit in his entire career in sl

And that is a Team without JWH, Ryan Hall, Jake Friend and Captain Boyd Cordner.

The Titans can improve a lot, they just need management and coaching.

Yeah I said the same last week mate and then if you read back I had a convo with RP and Dunbar and ultimately agreed that maybe he's been left out to get himself properly ready for next year? Would make sense to be fair and it doesn't look like he's been shipped out to Qld Cup side.

I agree but the Titans need a big boost at the moment, the new signing Watkins could be that boost if he did well.

Who signs a seasoned Test player and hides away till next year?

Few headlines in this week's NRL teamlists - James Graham is back for the Dragons, Herbie Farnworth keeping his spot in the centres and Watkins continues to be omitted from the Titans squad.

Other than that it looks like all 3 Burgess' brothers are out for Souths (George suspended and the other 2 slight injuries), Ryan Sutton looks to have picked up a knock too. The other 3 English Raiders are in as normal and Ryan Hall continues on the wing for the Roosters - really hope he can get over for one this week!

The fact that Watkins can not break into a team of crxp are dead last in the NRL is a worry.

Just an evolution of the game I guess.

The pivots and creative players used to be 6, 7 & 13 and now they are 1, 6 & 7.

I guess modern day coaches will look at fire power and 'go forward' in the pack as priority and then any skills as an added bonus.
