  1. Walker carries a far bigger running threat than Forber. Keeps the defence on their toes. Haven were just alive to the threat he poses after he rightly got MOM against them in the Ike game. If he is going to be the future, he needs time and a run of games to form that partnership with Doran. Leave Oscar at FB. What I've seen of him there, he is very good. Id pick the same team to be honest, possibly include Dec if hes recovered
  2. The next few weeks, recruitment wise are critical to give us a fighting chance in the 2nd half of the season. Hopefully lessons will have been learnt, valuable experience gained and we can start picking up some points
  3. I know we've said it a few times before this season. But another game we've been close to a side further up the table than us. The win will come! Walker was clearly being targeted in defence, but I think he must retain his place. We seem much more a threat when he has hands on the ball.
  4. To be honest. Forber didn't deserve to retain his place after Halifax. Like the look of our side today. Good to see Brown back at centre as well
  5. Like of Doran should be in his ear guiding him. He maybe is. You can lead a horse to water...... and all that
  6. Holgate was head and shoulders the best on the park. Real quality player. I'd imagine when the time is right, both town and haven will be scrapping to get him (if he wants to step up). Agree turnbull also looked a handful
  7. What sort of crowd is expected? Derby on a bank holiday always draws a good attendance but surely the daft k.o time will see a few away? Hope the weeks break has done our lads some good and we can push for our first win
  8. Our league have squad listed. Interestingly Weetman is named. As well as Thomas, Walker and the two new lads
  9. Positive that we've got some help in. Is it what we need? Olstrum been filling in at centre recently. So I'd imagine he will go in there. Hopefully get a prop in before Sunday
  10. Within a day of reds match on Saturday. They had an interview available to watch with the manager and highlights of the game. At the moment we get to hear 2 minutes from Chris on radio cumbria if you get back to the car quick enough, or the occasional interview on facebook
  11. Both teams injury ravaged. Granted haven have managed to recruit a couple. At what point do we stop saying hope for no injuries and an acceptable score. We need to start collecting points, and what better way than in a Derby. Defence needs a massive improvement if we are to come away with anything.
  12. We've heard this all before. I'd take any length of loan so long as they improved us.
  13. Everything is a matter of opinion and preference. I enjoyed the games at BP the other year and thought being closer to the action gave an appreciation of how quick the game is played.
  14. There is still standing areas on the halfway line at BP opposite the 'main stand'. The seating is only on the back part of the stand? Is not standing on the half way line really a valid enough reason to not either want the move, or stop following town all together?
  15. A new modern grandstand is a start. If its this or nothing.... I'd still chose this. So long as it is built with a function room/bar that is actually befitting of hosting events other than on matchdays and a decent standard of facilities to attract matchday sponsors, it's better than bot clubs continuing how they are.
  16. I've had season tickets at town and go alot of reds games. So see the benefits of both clubs. It always works out cheaper per m2 the more you build. But fact of the matter is we have a defined budget. We are still scratching round trying to secure funding for a 5k capacity. Where will we find the rest for an extra 3k capacity? Never once said you aren't entitled to an opinion, but don't get your back up when others don't agree.
  17. It isn't though. We aren't even an established championship club yet. To think we will be anywhere near super league in 2/3 years is madness. Who says the 5k capacity doesn't allow for further expansion when it's due? We haven't seen the plans?
  18. 5k capacity is perfectly adequate and then some for where the clubs see themselves in the short and medium future. Spending the extra £££ for an extra 3k capacity that we will never use is obviously uneconomical. Let's walk before we run.
  19. It's not just a stadium. I believe the plans were for a separate community use 3g pitch alongside it? Which in itself brings in more revenue and saves the reds an outlay at the same time. I belive the reds hire out either St Benedicts or Lillyhall at £80 per hour for their community sides to play. Approx £320 a week in total? This is money that would be kept in the club.
  20. Cant disagree with anything. Its frustrating seeing the whole town have a carrot dangled in front of them and not seeing any progress. Im sure there's been plenty going on behind the scenes. But an update would be nice
  21. I fully understand there is the need to get this right but its been about two years now since the initial plans were scrapped and we seem to be no further on? Part of the winning bid for the £25m town fund was to be put towards the new community stadium. Where is this cash? And how is it being spent?
  22. The extra week off will play a huge part I think. Especially in the 2nd half. Can we see anyone else returning? Or the same 17?
