  1. Just hope rovers turn up in the right state of mind for this one else it is curtains for the rest of the season as eagles will be desperate for a win but hopefully we should have our best team out on the pitch however there is one thing for certain Aston will be moaning about everything again if eagles lose. Rovers by 8 points for me.
  2. coach do not get carried away with things as something certainly was not right at the summer bash it doesnt take much to upset a teams performances just look at Leeds excepting injuries which all clubs seem to be suffering from this season it may be the Hardaker wanting away effect. Hopefully the big bash shock is out of their system and given us a wake up call allowing Fev to progress this season but the jury is still out let us see how we perform in the remaining games before we think we have turned things around. Whichever way you look at it there was no excuse for such a lacklustre performance against Fax.
  3. I certainly do not want The Eagles to bow out in fact if Aston left I would really hope for a better future for the Eagles but that just may not happen. Regarding Leigh they like all top clubs including Leeds they need to keep injecting lots of cash into their respective clubs and as sure as eggs are eggs there comes a time when even money is not enough to succeed. A team like Leigh shall probably follow the format of Fev. When Fev were a great side we could beat any of the current superleague teams especially at post office road but we had to sell at least one or two of our best players most seasons whereas Leigh with a current good benefactor need to persuade their best players to stay as they will always want to move on to the likes of Wigan and Saints or even Huddersfield. I will return to this post in the future to either eat humble pie or just to confirm I was right on this occasion. Just for clarity it really is Aston who has turned me against the Eagles I have no time for him.
  4. THE EAGLES HAVE LANDED Never did like the Eagles except when John Kear helped them win the challenge cup at a time when we had something like a fair rugby system obviously the elitism brigade have put pay to that. Unless someone with some brass turns up they are pretty much doomed and several decent players will become available when they drop back to part time. Leigh also having many problems but currently being helped out by a wad of cash which will run dry if they do not make superleague by the end of next season as they like the rest of the championship have virtually no chance of superleague under the current biased system which is currently designed for the showboating self serving few. Up The Rovers a great improvement on the big bash weekend.
  5. Just cannot see Bradford that twice gone bust team not finishing in top 4 they had a bad day yesterday but someone will come to their rescue yet again they always do. In a perfect fair world they should not be in the same league as fev but those at the top of the rfl seem to know better than the paying fans CANADA here they come. Rovers had a great day yesterday but hold on to your hats as we just may be in for another hammering unless the boys are up for it for the whole 80 minutes. If fev are within 12 points at the end they will have done well.
  6. no problem a win is on the cards after last weeks performance now my only doubt is cravens defending but once we win we shall probably tinker with the team again not due to injuries or performance but down to who we can borrow again. Let these lads play including baldy who is all but a fev player and stick with it.
  7. Feisal Nahaboo springs to mind just hope rovers do not get duped by another rogue like before Long gone are the distant dreams of superleague promises in 2013. Desperately need someone with some brass to invest in the club.
  8. spot on snake 1985 those were my match forecasts and both to beat us
  9. Now we have seen them all at the summer bash we can have a clear view on the final top 6 the only thing which should influence the outcome is the stupid loan players from super league week by week but my predictions are. LEIGH LONDON BRONCOS BRADFORD BULLS BATLEY BULLDOGS HALIFAX FEATHERSTONE ROVERS Can only see fev winning 3 more games possibly 4 if sheffield eagles continue their abysmal season.
  10. Reminded me how bad we were when Bastian was in charge totally void of ideas with very little effort or team spirit. I think we ought to field the reserves against Leigh oh I forgot we no longer have a reserve team. The team must be sh......g themselves having to play Leigh. The next home game should be free admission for the suffering supporters. No problems losing but never like todays farce.
  11. May the farce be with you what a lovely green pitch well it soon will be after 13 plus bags of horse muck were dumped on it today. They should be made to walk home in those silly coloured girly shirts they were SUPPOSED to play rugby in. Craven was useless and should have been taken off permanently. No effort No idea No aggression No talent No leader words fail me no wonder we beat Dewsbury they were also a pile of well not as big a pile as rovers I just hope the featherstone players refuse to accept any money for this pathetic carry on. I honestly thought we were turning things around but obviously there is still something seriosly wrong at the club come on 37-0 against fax still it will save me buying match dvds for a while as Im currently in Gran Canaria for long periods but I watched this one on Sky.
  12. What a terrible week first one of our heroes Steve Quinn is taken far too soon. I remember that kick just like it was yesterday and I went to every cup round that year. I clearly recall arranging a full bus load of family and friends to wembley just hoping we could give Hull a game but just like the games against Bradford and St Helens the ROVERS were magnificent and just before Quinny took that winning kick my 9 year old son was pestering me for a drink and I said to him if he kicks this I will buy you a bottle of champagne the rest is history. Todays Fev under Bastian we had a large squad of decent players and could put two full teams out albeit nobody wanted to play but yesterdays performance against Batley was shocking even taking into account our injury crisis and such a small squad. We seemed to have a game plan of just try knock em down as the attacking was virtually non existent however there was one or two moments where some players gave their all but we were never at the races and Fevs heads went down and they gave up trying half way through the second half except for a bit of Thackery magic. WE NEED TO THROW THE BALL ABOUT MORE. I watched the match on sky as Im in Gran Canaria enjoying the sunshine but what a disappointment after watching that fiasco we need to get some players back or new signings pronto or we could finish up in a relegation battle I would expect that horrible Leigh to win by 20 to 30 points on yesterdays performance but here is hoping Im wrong as I honestly believe the problems are down to a small squad and injuries as so far Sharpy has done a good job. UP THE ROVERS COME ON LETS BEAT LEIGH AND BRING BACK THAT 1983 TEAM SPIRIT.
  13. Refs dont get me started. I emailed thr rfl last year with no reply stating the absolute abysmal standard of refereeing especially forward passes and suggested they should all be given guide dogs and white sticks. I have stopped paying out solely because it is the refs who are deciding who wins most matches. It is the same in super league as I watch every match shown on sky and you can guarantee when one side gets well in front the ref starts giving repeat penalties to help the losing team especially the likes of wigan and leeds and the ill discipline is getting more like football every week with players mouthing off and nothing being done about it take a particular huddersfield player who ought to be sent off most games some might say gotta be careful not to upset the moderators. Bring back the good old days with 10 yards for mouthing off early baths and anything resembling a forward pass was penalised not to mention players actually playing the ball with their feet ugh the list goes on. Finally those trotting along the lines with their coloured flags really ought to be given a proper job as they are worse than the refs.
  14. SOUL DESTROYING Gonna be a riot More existing players will definitely be leaving this season culminating in more unrest at the club. Players not knowing if they will be playing game by game nothing to do with injuries or how well they are playing. Leeds laughing their socks off allowing their players not selected for a game or those returning from injuries to get fit and some game time at Fev with probably no cost to themselves in fact I would not be surprised if we were paying Leeds for the privilege. Time will tell but if I was a employee which they all are and never knew if I had a job week by week then I would be off like a shot. If I'm proved wrong I shall gladly eat humble pie but I just cannot see this benefitting Fev as a club it is a backward step as usual and will result in tears.
  15. Total unrest in the camp just like the last two seasons thanks Mr chairman especially for you monetary support and hard work but a new broom is desperately needed if Fev are to move forward. I can see a players revolt with some wanting away especially the upcoming youngsters and others who Will be dropped to make way for the Leeds second team nothing but a long term catasrophe in the making but I do hope I'm not right again like when I said both Bastian and Hay would be discarded pronto.
  16. DR IS THE DEATH OF FEV What on earth are the championship clubs playing at the only fair system is having your own squad not this farcical dreamed up Super league DR system which has been adopted for one purpose only i.e. let Super league pinch all the young talent then allow them to play for another club in the championship where most of them come from and just in case any of them make the grade they take them back at virtually no cost to themselves alternatively those that do not make the grade are then dumped back into the championship. Ever since the introduction of Super league those at the top are trying to follow the likes of football namely the big rich clubs will always receive preferential treatment. We once had a fantastic workingman's game which has changed drastically stop ruining our once great game we are not reluctant to change but alas too much is too much eg Once we had no tackle count then 4 then 6 make your minds up. The video referee a brilliant idea yet so overused it is laughable. We now have so many subs trotting on/off and then there is the water boys who spend more time on the pitch than the players dishing out instructions. Injuries - no surprise we seem to be getting 26 monsters on the pitch not counting subs blood bins etc who play in short spells these gorillas are called impact players impact my ar_e how on earth do they get so enormous? and don't tell me it is todays training methods. Finally why are the players being allowed to follow the example of football with arguing and swearing at the officials who I agree could sometimes make the pope swear. Just what has happened to strong refereeing any backchat or swearing it was an instant 10 yards now metres and if they wanted to argue it was early bath time OH roll back the good old days and before it is too late by adopting a strong no nonsense refereeing stance it just may help stop the small number of loud mouth morons we have at Fev and other clubs shouting rip his head off or kill the barstewards.
  17. Well there seems to be shed loads of signings especially from our rivals namely Bradford Leigh Halifax and Astons job lot. They must have some good bank managers oh I forget Bradford can go bust again for the third time and we shall obviously help them out again. Times were when Fev was a great side we always had to offload one of our best players every season fortunately some of our offloads to Hull helped us win the challenge cup in 83. Now Fev had a great side on paper last season and we could have fielded 2 full teams from our first team squad and still had plenty in reserve at the start of the season. Numbers will never make up for both quality and desire to wear the blue and white shirt just what has gone wrong with our greedy elitism look after the teams we want to succeed approach from the RFL who for years now have only the interests of the rich clubs and any idea of fairness went out of the window years ago. I have said it before many times and I honestly believe that if there is no positive changes to allow lower teams to flourish then we may finish up with a break away of all but the superleague clubs just like the rugby union breakaway. Honestly get a grip Fev you and all the other clubs outweigh the superleague elite and could force change to a fairer system after all superleague need you much more than we need them especially when it comes to the challenge cup they the current elite would have to play for the cup between the whole 12 teams which is what they really deserve but no doubt they would waste more millions on clubs from France Wales and London and the like but maybe teams like Leeds could field 4 teams judging by the vast number of players they loan out every season.
  18. Plain and simple not worth debating any fool could see that on paper Fev were certainly destined for a top four spot at the start of the season but we have been the most disappointing team in the RFL hence my original posting Laughing Stock of Rugby. It appears bad coaching and serious problems amongst the upper echelon has resulted in some absolutely abysmal performances this year and the only player to constantly give 100% every game has been Will Sharp not that I have been to a match since Sheff beat us again at Donny. I believe my money is better in my pocket than paying to watch this bunch of overpaid indisciplined third rate performers which we have had to endure. Their effort on many occasions has been embarrassing to watch and It is without doubt that most defeats have been down to a total lack of effort given by numerous players albeit coaching and the hierarchy may have contributed significantly. I believe Maitua was a brilliant signing albeit he is rightfully off to pastures new whereas Verlinden needs a lot of work but the jury's out on him. Lets get rid of the driftwood and build from the bottom up. Next season can we please get a selection of dummy's at the ready for players and management.
  19. Posted again without all the blank spaces and adding no wonder the first team players are demoralised after reading some of Sharps comments not exactly the way to get the best out of the team. Well here we go again No Pride No passion No fight No interest Just No good at all. The rest of Rugby league are peeing themselves with laughter at Rovers and they have every reason to do so. Big costly squad three coaches and a chairman in a pear tree. We deserve everything we have got this season because of the lack of motivation and direction but alas our problems are beyond the players and coaching staff albeit we have a habit of choosing duds in the latter department. If anyone needs proof just look how well some of those who have gone are performing and no doubt there will be another exodus of our players and who can blame any of them for wanting to leave. Cas have built up a good performing team with a strong desire to win in a ###### stadium and shall be moving on whereas Fev or should I say the Fans have built a great ground with brilliant training facilitiesyet there is no passion or desire on the field albeit at the start of the season we had the nucleus of a top squad. Only one direction to look now and that is clearly the boardroom and it is time for a clearout. £18 to watch trash not on your nelly as I have said many times we would finish up playing in front of hundreds instead of thousands if we did not mend our ways which is only what we really deserve. No more money from me for this shambolic carry on. I went to the Sheffield match and have only just got the DVD which I sent for because I really wanted to view some of the head hunting tackles but I have not watched it and have lost the will to do so.

  21. Negativity Yes I have been very negative about Rovers for well over a year now HOWEVER for all those who have given up on a top 4 spot Well now we are rid of the last two abysmal performing coaches I'm actually hopeful we may be on the up dependent on J S ability ( still preferred J K from Batley ) and more importantly the boards support without interference. I actually believe Fev will beat Eagles and our fate lies in the hands of London Broncos. We need the money for fourth spot but not a chance in hell of super league in this years 8s. Whatever happens against the Eagles please give us a half decent Ref as every year including Superleague it gets worse. Many games appear to be decided by poor refereeing decisions and it is time they were scrutinised better and shown either the error of their ways or the exit doors. Finally what has happened to the forward pass ? it used to be forward even on level passes yet now its yards or metres whichever you prefer forward and almost every game they are allowed. League obviously copying years of union forward passes and even though it is passed and lands 2 yards forward some moron has determined momentum thats OK well OK my ar.. forward is forward stop meddling with what is a great game.
  22. Coach Posted Today, 05:17 PM eltel, on 06 Jul 2015 - 5:44 PM, said: Thank god for that...... <snip John Kear? You're either having a laugh or are actually a Batley fan. He'd set us back years. Certainly not we cannot afford a top coach but more importantly not many good quality coaches will be lining up to coach Fev but Kear has done well over the years with poor quality teams he can certainly kick some ass and feel it is just what Fev need. My predictions have so far been mostly correct and if they give him a chance I honestly believe we can go onward and upwards provided we keep the good players we have and get rid of those who do no know what they want all we need is a couple of real quality players and jobs done but It maybe Cook was deliberately brought in to replace Hay.
  23. Thank god for that. I said I would not post again but alas there may now be some light at the end of the tunnel with Hay out of the way and I still stick with the best coach for Fev being John Kear. I posted this ages ago under writing is on the wall. I sent this email below following the Bradford game predicting we would concede over 100 points in the next 3 games whereas we have only conceded 80 thanks mainly due to 3 Wakefield DR players rescuing us at Halifax. There is and has been something seriously amiss both in the boardroom and with the playing staff especially Andy Hay who should be sacked immediately. If we could only get a half decent coach we could do alright this season providing he can get the best out of a very unsettled team and if things do not improve the few good players we have left shall leave if they have any sense. Finally who ever dreamed up the new ticket fiasco wants their head looking at and it would have proved a right pain on Monday for Sheffield's visit except Rovers will have far fewer spectators following last nights embarrassment. Original email 01/03/15 This is my third ever contact with Featherstone Rovers my first was a small donation to the floodlight appeal after a winning bet on Rovers winning the 1983 Challenge cup i.e. £10 at 18 to 1. My second contact was stating the obvious that John Bastian was a third rate coach and predicting he would be sacked that season whereas he was actually sacked in a matter of a few weeks. Now I do not imply that I'm a great motivator but frequently listening to Andy Hay who certainly is not a motivator gives me no confidence whatsoever and he needs to be got rid of just like the last coach. Today we were thrashed primarily because we cannot tackle as the 40 points to 4 margin confirms yet Andy Hay just drones on with feeble excuses instead of demonstrating some passion and leadership qualities. My guess is that in the next three games we shall succumb to a hundred points or more unless there is a drastic improvement. For Christ's sake drop some of the poor performing players and at least give the second string a chance they cannot be much worse. We certainly have enough players on our books which most other clubs could only dream of yet we are not performing. Today we had a fantastic crowd who were severely let down by poor selection poor motivation and a lack of leadership qualities. If we want to play to crowds in their hundreds rather than the thousands then just plod on regardless it will be our downfall. Even with these mediocre performances we may be lucky and struggle to fourth place this season but super-league just forget it as today we were thrashed by a half decent championship side. My suggestion is let a lot of the squad go to give them some playing time and sign a couple of real quality players who are not past their sell by date. Like last year I really hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
  24. yep this is my last post as these so called moderators will be making fans do lines next I.e. I must not upset the forum monitors etc childish maybe but that seems to be the way this forum is being governed so much for free speech and I have never used one swearword in fact I never use it. I only started to post after rovers made John Bastian coach and then Any Hay neither of which sit right with me and I believe Andy will be shown the door and be on his way by the end of the season but I Really really want some success for rovers just like the good old days when they players were very proud to don the blue and white jersey. Finally it sounds as if we might as well not bother going across to France as the coach seems to think we will lose instead of geeing up the lads stressing we will give our all and will do our utmost to win through to the next round. Remember St Helens away then Bradford at Leeds culminating in Hull at wembley in 1983 Yes thats the spirit Andy some really determined men beating the might of Humberside.
