  1. In the summer it'll be setting over the West Stand!
  2. I'm pretty sure the club said that current season ticket holders will have their seats held until the end of November (even if they didn't pay the £20!).
  3. You apparently don't know the reason. The stadium management company (SMC) charges the club to reveal the figure. Quite understandably, the club declines to pay. Apparently York City are prepared to pay. Your complaint should be directed to the SMC.
  4. During the match, in fact. Possibly because they have multi-millionaire owners?
  5. It's like Rugby Union. Personally I don't like seeing results settled this way. However, if the penalties weren't conceded it wouldn't happen.
  6. The deduction is for the weak team they put out against St Helens. Won't they get another one for forfeiting the Wakefield match?
  7. Aggregate score Doncaster vs York this season: Dons 0 Knights 122.
  8. I'm sure a ban is inevitable but don't forget that the women's season is about half as long as the men's, so any ban should be proportionate. What some people are suggesting would amount to about HALF a season.
  9. Of course there are only two league games left and a semi-final (and a very unlikely final), so she'll probably miss all of those. I watched the match on The Sportsman and the red card and the referee's explanation of it were very clear, although somehow missed by the commentators. But another image is stuck in my head. At the end of the match, as the players were going down the line shaking hands Faye Gaskin stopped Sinead, obviously asking her what she had said to the ref. When Sinead told her she clasped her hand to her mouth with a look of sheer incredulity. Priceless (though there'll be a big price to pay for Sinead)!
  10. And most probably a ban.
  11. A bit unlucky today for the Valks - leading until the 70th minute - though I doubt that Sinead has been coached to ask the referee, "Which one are you shagging?"
  12. I would have thought that's the least they can expect.
  13. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Blaydon Rugby Club. Pleasant setting, friendly locals, dinky little stand. And the match: What an absolutely brilliant performance. The way Wigan have just been steamrollering everyone, I thought we'd do well to keep them to a 20 point winning margin. Not a bit of it. The tactics were spot on: in their faces straight away, pushing them back at every opportunity, forcing errors. They really looked shell-shocked, having not been treated like that all season. I thought our forwards were particularly effective, with the likes of Liv Wood, Jas Bell, Rhiannion Marshall and Savannah Andrade being very hard to handle. It was fortunate for us that Grace Banks wasn't playing as she can slice through most defences and is uncatchable once clear. However, this should not detract from the Valks' performance. I hear that Tara Jane Stanley spent hours poring over Wigan videos, analysing their moves and calls. If so. this worked a treat. I drove up from East Yorkshire. There were a few dozen York supporters there. A pity more could not have made the trip and given themselves a real treat. A creditable performance by Newcastle Thunder as well, despite not having won a game for over two years! Brad Ward played at full back and they were led around the park by the elusive Alex Donaghy who apparently never wanted to turn out for the Knights! All in all, an excellent day to follow the Knights' brilliant win in Toulouse.
  14. Toulouse vs York is Friday, not Saturday.
