  2. England sends an understrength team to the u19 Euros, without SL youngsters. I don't see any problem with the Knights. If we want to call them tests, play Nz as Gb and the Euros as England. I wouldn't renounce to a top team like Nz touring because of the Euros.
  3. England should be in it. Otherwise, the winners couldn't call themselves European Champions.

  5. LM is spot on. Indigenous would be great as a touring team (as the Maori All Black in the other code).
  6. Small federations would choose to pay (flight, hotels, camp) for the WC qualification game, not for next part.
  7. I think it can work, if properly organised and marketed. If it's confirmed we'll have the full Eng and Fra playing, we shuild build on the wait. For examples, an Italian eligible players is doing well in SL, we wanna have him talking about the prospect of that game v England in London, etc. The same goes with Scottish, Irish etc eligible players. With WC qualification at stake, this can be the chance to have the best heritage and local players involved. Tickets should be available asap, to build on this World Cup enthusiasm.
  8. Origin is during the season, so I'd find it very hard to see Aus based players flying to Europe. In postseason and with the aim of a World Cup qualification, yes. About England, have decided it is better to play this Euros and no teams from the SH?
  9. What @Dunbarsays is true. I remember thinking the very same thing when the "Winter" World Cup was announced. Recents results mustn't have helped England, though.
  10. Algeria, that was very embarassing. Was it the year that newspapers titled "Easy" after the world cup draw?
  11. Very optimistic. But I think it showed some kind of ambition. The idea of the "draft" was fascinating:
  12. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_XIII Ambitious but I think Covid won. Italy had a team in it, based in Veneto, where rugby is very strong.
  13. I think they shouldn't have to chose. They already lose money when renouncing to Australia calls, we shouldn't ask them to renounce to SoO.
  14. Players want England to tour Australia: https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/australia-world-cup-winner-latrell-mitchell-wants-england-next/
  15. I think we need it, as rl offers very few International opportunities to players. They don't have European club competition as there are in football or rugby union. With very few International rl being played (and not all players get to play at test level), I think the WCC it's a big event for players.
  16. I'm reading the Wikipedia 2025 RLWC article for the first time. This is good, but it'd mean (even more than in the men's tournament) lots of cricket scores. But with 16 teams, I hope my Italy can get there too. Before the pandemic, they had some interesting and encouraging tests. Italian women's RU is getting very strong and women's ru players seem to like our code. This is very very good, as we'd see lots of high level and high profile games. In this tournament, I'd expect England to field their best youth squad (they don't send their best youngsters in the U-19 Euros, if I'm not wrong). Here, the divide between the Southern and Northern Hemisphere can be very big. This if NZ, Aus and the Pacific teams field their best eligible squad. Very interesting. Back in France, where the 2017 World Cup had been played. That time, France beat England 38 – 34 in an epic final and the English win last Friday will make this rivalry grow. I expect the Aussies to invest in their Wheelchair game and this can only help. Games on the BBC would be perfect, given the audience they reached in 2022. I still have to understand how and when the World Cup qualifiers would be played. If in 2023, or 2024.
  17. I see what you mean, but there that event had the World Cup umbrella and was seen as attractive. Not sure it'll happen with some European tournament. And we'd be back to the very problem: England should renounce to high intensity games (such as thos v SH opposition)? I'd be very happy to see England playing 3 times European opposition and 3 times a Southern Emisphere one. As a person who has been involved within the staff of a non tier 1 nations, I'd add it's very expensive for little rl nations to have heritage players flying to Europe and they can only afford it for World Cup qualifiers and World Cup.
  18. Hope this brings to tests for domestic players.
  19. Saints, without injuries, would a good NRL side. Not a top top maybe, but a good one.
  20. But I'm not sure a tournament where it's 99% certain England will win (and will win with big scores) is gonna interest tv networks and audience.
