The WMDC money is ring fenced to facilities improvement and community projects. It has to be accounted for. It's for definite that 3 or 4 of the players also work for the foundation, but this is nothing new. One of them is Bailey Gill, who is yet to make a playing appearance. Don't underestimate the value we get from hosting Wakefield AFC, having a clubhouse open for functions 7 days a week, selling our own ale and pies on matchday and new businesses on the wider land like Rovers Self Storage. The Klockner Pentaplast sponsorship (ex Linpac) is said to be "massive".

I don't think MC puts anything like the money in that DB does. Mark is all about making the club self sustaining and driving non Rugby revenue. As far as I know, Fev's spend this year is entirely self financed.

The recent change to SLE's legal constitution would suggest that 14 and even 16 clubs are being considered.

This is where SLE and hopefully IMG can get their backsides in gear and generate more revenue. It's ludicrous that we have 1/6 of SL in France, but no significant TV deal in that territory. At some point France has to start paying it's way. Either SLE or the French clubs need to be selling much harder in that market. We also need to be building on the success of Channel 4 in this country and getting more games on TV. 300,000+ viewers in the wide open TV market is significant and we've got to capitalise on that exposure through sponsorship.

It's totally weighted in the SL club's favour, I agree. But as we see pretty much every year in the cup, a one off game can produce an upset or as a minimum, a very entertaining couple of hours for the broadcaster. Taking this year's table as an example, Featherstone and Halifax would fancy their chances against Wakefield in a one off game. York, Barrow and Batley wouldn't be overawed.

This would make for a better million pound game. This season, Leigh have been the best championship team by some distance and deserve automatic promotion by winning the league. A second promotion decided by play off between 2-6 in the championship and 11 in SL would be more entertaining and fairer on the championship league leaders. You could still reward finishing 2nd by giving a week off and a home tie in the play offs, with 11th in SL also getting this (effectively replacing the league leaders in the play offs).

From a selfish point of view, I enjoy the annual jolly to Toulouse. So it's a bonus for me if they're in the championship next year.

It's just my impression from everything I've seen and read. Sylvan Houles in particular seems not remotely stressed by the situation. As I say, it's just my reading of the situation. Others may have a different interpretation.

I'm suspicious that something is afoot Harry. The recent changes to the legal constitution of SLE are an indicator. TOXIII don't seem overly concerned sat at the bottom of SL, despite Sky's see through attempts to big up the relegation battle. Leigh are either supremely confident of promotion or know something we don't. They've signed lots of the current squad for next year. That's a massive financial risk for Degsy, all it need is a couple of injuries or a sending off in the MPG to go horribly wrong for him.

They're all potential criminal acts. It doesn't matter whether they're on private property or not. I couldn't get away with slapping Mrs Shep about in the privacy of my own house. By tradition, incidents on field are left to the sport to deal with but they are all capable of being prosecuted by the law.

Shame for the players, but I always thought this was far too early in their development to be going full time. It's only 3 years since they were in League 1. As an absolute minimum they should have cemented themselves as regular play off contenders before even thinking about it. They've now done a Sheffield and put themselves back a good five years. Foolish.

Wakefield Trinity plans submision

Still waiting on handouts from Axiom, which shows absolutely no hint of progress (except a motorway junction design that looks like it was drawn by a 3 year old and will cause absolute mayhem at the junction in question). -
I’m with Dave T on this. It’s sexual assault. It really should be a police matter, far too serious to be dealt with in house.

It was a very sad day, I was gutted. Caused a 15 year fall out with the game for me, I still checked on our results, but couldn't bring myself to watch again. Eventually got persuaded back mid 2011 and not missed many since. It's ancient history though, onwards and upwards.

Look at the women, keep developing and you too could play at Wembley? -

Quite like the idea of 3 finals (plus the kids) being played on one day. I'm tempted to buy now rather than wait to see if Fev get there. As others have said, passouts are essential. Don't really fancy 10 hours in a sweltering Wembley. -
