  1. What I will say about Hull KR is they give you very little in the way of penalties and errors. We literally haven't had a leg up at any time this half. Makes them very hard to play against.
  2. The commentators are really fawning over Hull KR and making out like they have dominated the first 10 minutes. I actually think it's been very well matched. Rovers with better field position largely because of the wind. We are doing OK here.
  3. A lot of Hull fans are saying they are dreading this. I can definitely see that point of view, but personally I think we are so bad it's almost a case of "how bad can it be really." I'm expecting the worst, I've already made peace with the fact that it might by a 50+ defeat, which in itself shows how truly awful this team is, or at least has been so far. FWIW I think we will put in an improved performance and give them half a game for while, but ultimately we just aren't good enough. Rovers by 20 You can get 10/1 if you fancy a Hull win, which is a crazy price for a derby. The sad thing is I don't disagree with the bookies valuation.
  4. A part of the problem is that because the communication is so poor you get all these rumours circulating about what may or may not be going on behind the scenes. The way we have conducted our business recently certainly suggests money concerns, but to what extent who knows. It often seems like the only times the club speaks to fans is when they want money for something. There used to be fans forums at least a couple of times a year but they have died a death. It's just silence from the club on all the big issues and that just adds to the concern.
  5. I really like that actually. You can make it a "grassroots" or "community" round to shine a light on the great work the community clubs do. The socks can be a part of that.
  6. It's hard to see any light at the end of tunnel as a Hull fan currently. We are woeful on and off the field, and I don't see how that will change any time soon. Maybe Hull KR hammering us next week (and I mean a proper, historic hammering) would actually do us a favour as it would leave Pearson with no option but to act. By that I don't necessarily mean sack the coach (although that may well be part of it), but it might make him realise that the fans have had enough, and the way the club is run has to change. Although more than likely he will just bury his head in the sand, tell everyone to trust the journey that we are on, and then release a new shirt. I don't mind us being rubbish if we are at least showing a bit of ambition and trying to make positive changes. Wakefield got relegated last year, and yet honestly, I would trade places with them in a heartbeat. They have put together a good squad, they want to bounce straight back, things are happing with the stadium. It's a long process but if you a Wakefield fan you at least have things to look forward to a be excited about. We on the other hand feel like a club that is dead on our feet. We don't even have the release of relegation to allow us to clear the decks and start again, because unless something drastic happens our grading isn't going to see us go down for at least a few years yet. I've never felt as downhearted about the club as I do now, and I know that many many other fans feel exactly the same.
  7. Must have been the shortest second half in modern rugby league history. They didn't even stop the clock whilst the yellow cards were being dished out.
  8. Anyone know how long is actually left in the Leeds v Saints game? They don't seem to have been stopping the clock for anything. Is there a game clock in the ground?
  9. Sheffield led 12-10 but they got a yellow card right on half time and Wigan kicked the penalty. So it's 12-12, but Sheffield will still have pretty much 10 minutes with 12 men.
  10. I'm surprised with how strong a team Wigan have named. I thought they might rest a few but hardly any really. Hopefully Sheffield can stand up and give a good account of themselves.
  11. I don't mean that it's intentionally being run into the ground necessarily. But we are all very concerned about the direction the club is going. I think the general consensus is that he probably would like to sell the club, but no one has as yet met his valuation. We don't own the stadium, or any other physical asset really. Our value is in the brand, and the players, both of which are highly subjective, we can't even point to being a profit making business in recent years. It looks to me as though, in the meantime, he's trying to keep his costs down whilst continuing to take his salary from the club (he does pay himself a salary). The amount of corners being cut is just not good enough for a supposed elite sports club.
  12. The problem is, we don't really know, because the club don't tell us anything. The only time you hear from Pearson is when there are memberships or new shirts to flog. The club are either tone deaf to the views of the fans, or they simply don't care. Either way supporters are becoming disillusioned in huge numbers, certainly worse than anything I've experienced in the time I've followed the club. We are clearly struggling financially, but again we don't really know the extent of this because we never get told anything. The squad and coaching staff is poor and done on the cheap, the training facilities are, by all accounts, pathetic. We are still tied into a poor deal at the stadium, and we have fairly substantial debts. There is just a general feeling that the club is slowly but surely being run into the ground. We might moan a lot, but the Hull FC fan base is one of the biggest and most loyal in the game. If we are struggling then just be honest about it and the fans will stick by you. We can cope with being poor on the pitch, but it almost feels like the club are taking the mick at the minute and supporters won't stand for that.
