IMG looking to ditch Super League branding

I think you maybe too far down the marketing road for us to come to an agreement so I will agree to disagree with you on this one. -

There are far more important and sustainable ways to grow the game, which this money should be being spent on. -

More marketing bull$hit to paper over the cracks. Stuff like this really is the scourge of the game and the fact it sucks people into thinking it will work and is the pill which will fix it all, is really a sad reflection on our game and society. Don't care what it's called just spend the money on the roots of the game and grow from the bottom up. It will be slow, but will add stability and be more organic. Rather than trying to spunk it all for a quick fix, when all your doing is lining marketing execs (#### I might add) pockets End of rant Just want to watch my team now. Off season depresses me and drags me down to worrying about the game and the people who run it Even after a WC!! -

Not 100% correct. As all this is doing is chasing investment and putting a plaster over the issue. The main crux of it is that we don't have enough youth links from acadamey/amateur through to pro rugby. This would generate more players and also more kids playing the game. Which in turn generates more fans through the kids themselves and their families wanting to watch the game To get more focus on the game, it needs to make people want to invest in it and not just chase it. There needs to be a step change in thinking away from this constant marketing drivel and throwing money at stupid initiatives such as Toronto, for example. Limit overseas player and coach quota to 3 and make the acadamies more important to driving people into the game. The finance of the clubs have been hit because of covid as expected, but there needs to be more focus on crowds and getting families in and not on gimmicks to get TV money, which would follow anyway. Sorry for the ramble, probably doesn't make any sense anyway as I'm sick Merry Xmas all -

St Helens have played this style for years (hence the entertainers nickname) as did Salford last year. It wouldn't guarantee a thrashing, it would provide you opportunities. We have players who are international standard who would surely love to take it to the audsies a play like this. I for one would welcome this and am sure it would benefit the international game Currently it's low risk, inside ball rugby which had Been tried and tried for years and the aussie are the ultimate masters of. Your solution appears to be stick with doing it and celebrate a 6-0 loss? Hence why it's been so bloody long since we've won a game against them, let alone a test or cup. Surely after 30 or whatever years of failure we are now at the point of trying something different, which can work, rather than continuelsy trying to copy the aussies at their own game plan? Definition of madness in my eyes -

It maybe in some aspects, but if the NRL style rugby is what the aussie national team were playing. Then they can happily keep the boring 1%rugby. The aussies honest to god, bored me. Other than the odd flash of brilliance it was so robotic, I was shocked. For me, only way to beat this is play high risk rugby and throw it about. Don't try to match them at the % game. And for god sake dont allow all our players go over there and get drilled into this style of play. We need our own style that is entertaining and attracts people to watch and play -

Can't see how a guy who comes off the pitch with his hair still perfectly styled after each match, for the last 10 years. Will all of a sudden make it in SL? -
It's just a shirt for a rugby team, not a political stance. Why go off on a tangent about humans rights and what's going on in the world Cup? Just release it, say your proud of it and say your looking forward to showing the rugby World what a good team you are. It's going over the top imo

What the hell is that statement about??? Pointless and went off in all directions. Don't apologies for your kit, it's not a bad one so just stand by it and get on with. Such a snowflake statement and one I would expect from a football club. Jeez get a grip

Who cares? Why should this guy have a thread and all the other off season signings not?

The Transfer Rumour Mill Thread
Stanley30 replied to Mumby Magic's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Yep, not an easy task, but should be the focus for the long term future of the game. Too many years of letting both go to rot is now having a detrimental affect across the board. Yet we're still focusing on quick short term marketing fixes -

Agreed, needs to be a 50% reduction in overseas players allowed. I'd also include coaches in this cap. We need to strengthen acadamy and amateur links into the game as will only benefit the sport in the long term from a player pool and financial perspective. That's the real win for all -

Dear God get mcolorum off. He's having a mare, missing tackles left right and centre. Didn't even got acting half until last tackle on that last set. I know he's wane's love child, but he's gonna cost us the match -
I'm genuinely baffled that the saints fans on their forum believe justice has prevailed. It was horrendous to watch and deliberate, thank god atkin was ok
