  1. Charles McGee, 102, Tuskegee Airman, one of the most distinguished pilots in history over a 30 year and 3 war career for the US Air Force.
  2. Not sure how they got in to be honest, normally they fall foul of the advertising laws because they won't print the packaging in English and French. Not complaining at all though, so much better than Walkers.
  3. Yup, not complaining about that either lol. Managed to keep 70lbs off for 2 years now, these will be a nice treat for a few weeks to come.
  4. The British Shop where I live got in multipacks of Seabrooks!! Nearly shat a brick when I saw LOL 6 packs of lamb and mint and Worcestershire Sauce! Glorious.
  5. Vatican issued a statement bemoaning the influx of feral felines giving kisses to visitors. You would have thought they would have liked roaming cat licks.
  6. What did the cannibal do after she dumped her boyfriend? She wiped her bum.
  7. It was always Wuster with me, just like the Seabrook crisps or, if we were in finer company it would be pronounced 'Leeanperrins'
  8. Caught this on Reddit: In the US it's called a Booster Shot, in the UK it's called a Borcestershire Shot.
  9. And hot on the heels of mallard duck searching, in Bradford, Ontario this week, hold onto your hats, it's Carrot Fest! https://www.simcoe.com/news-story/10456176--carrot-fest-is-a-staple-celebration-returns-to-downtown-bradford/
  10. Challenging one for us this week: https://www.simcoe.com/whatson-story/10398740-can-you-find-a-mallard-duck-as-part-of-bob-s-bird-search-/
  11. 159.3lbs this week, back to better habits. Hot and muggy here this week, yesterday saw a 47C temp in BC, highest ever recorded in Canada, it's 32 with the humidex here in Ontario but bloody uncomfortable. I have one more training run to do before the 5k on Saturday, first 5K since March 2020. Hoping to be around the 35 minute mark but if it's as hot as it is right now I'll be very happy with 40.
  12. 161lbs this week, Father's Day and my lads birthday. Finally got to see him for more than 20 minutes at a time now that the COVID restrictions have eased somewhat here. Pile of pizza on saturday and fish & chips last night, worth every bit!
  13. Kirkland Laing, remember him boxing as a kid and thinking he was cool with his hands down style.
  14. Hit the local park after work tonight and even with a brief pause to soak my cap in the river I was still sucking air in through my R$e-oil by interval 12. Not happy, was berating my body for not working how I wanted it to, tearing strips off myself internally and the finish couldn't come soon enough. Got over the line and then saw that I'd done it in a sub 7 minute/km pace, the first time that's happened! I didn't feel faster and I tend to keep my cadence fairly stable to manage pains, so the tweaks to the bracing must have allowed an opening to the stride length! From feeling like a complete ham shanker to spam and jam in the space of a few seconds!
  15. 158.4lbs this week. Got the bracing retuned this week, a little weight removed and stronger hinge springs so going to give that a test out tonight. Did my second longest interval run on Tuesday night, just shy of 6k. Getting there! Got a virtual 5k planned for Canada Day on July 1st.
  16. Got quite the surprise yesterday, I'm back to where I started on the 5k program on Runkeeper and did my fastest 5k (interval running) since starting with the app. 5.14k at 6.47min/km and 34.55 min total. I did several full 5k's this time last year before the COVID stuff really took a hold but nothing like this pace. Really pleased with how I'm coping, every time I think I can't then there's a bit more that can be done now. Nice feeling. Now there's the thoughts of maybe a 10k or even a half marathon! The fact that I'm even thinking these things is just bizarre, almost seems like it's someone else but I'll take it!
  17. 157lbs this week, down 1.4 from last week. Starting to get back out running of a fashion this week, not much focused on distance just completing. Two 15 intervals runs, one minute on, one minute off and one 20 interval run, 7:20 and 7:30 m/km which is goodm for me at any rate!
  18. 158.4lbs this week. After a break getting past the difficulties before starting up again nearly always coincides with an increase. Painkillers, holding onto water as well as less disciplined eating. There may or may not have been an entire sleeve of custard creams scarfed in a matter of seconds coming back from the shops Bunch of guys from the support group started doing the Conqueror Challenges as a team, 17 of us finished the 4000km Pacific Crest Trail in just over 4 weeks. On with Route 66 now, great to keep us all active with some positive competition. Signed up for a 5K race for July, so hopefully get a few practice runs at that distance under my belt by then. Fingers crossd anyway.
  19. 155.6lbs this week. Had to take a break from the running efforts as I mucked myself up swapping winter tires off the van, but figuring out ways to get this stuff done within my limitations has its fun. . Coincidentally, the family were as supportive as usual when they noticed the goose egg on the side of my head where I smashed it on the corner of the jack. Wellied myself in the head on something two inches off the ground. Talent that is. Glad to keep up my Dad's family traditions.
  20. Whitesnake video dream girl of many an 80's teen, Tawny Kitaen aged 59.
  21. 158lbs this week, up 3lbs. Ate some of the feelings with the separation this week (piled into Monster Much, Pot Noodles and Cornish pasties from the British shop in town that just opened), but I also did the longest distance on Runkeeper this week (5.8k) and also my fastest (7:00 min/k) pace in two different sessions. I find I go up when increasing activity when I'm sore and retaining fluid.
  22. Know him but likely not what he looks like, Felix Silla. He played Cousin It on the Addams Family and Twiki on Buck Rogers.
  23. Very kind of you to say, thank you, much appreciated! Thank you as well for doing the tables and keeping the accountability!
