  1. Right, yes. The game doesn't much resemble "Thugby League" - I am not sure if you are advocating for a return of that time? The sport has evolved over the last 40 years, that's kind of what happens with pretty much every sport. Last weekends games seemed like the RL I have been watching in SL for the last 5 years at least.
  2. I have no idea what games you watched over the last weekend, but to say that "The game now bears no resemblance to how the sport was once played" is quite a claim.
  3. Yes, I am sure it is Dual Reg that caused the demise of Thunder. Not about having any money or anything along those lines.
  4. What do you think they do when they finish playing SL rules at the Grand Final and then England have to turn out against international teams?
  5. I don't understand what you are pointing out then, if it isn't a particular Wigan-bias.
  6. If I start living my life on what group think is on "X" then I really have just given up.
  7. You say that like there wasn't a whole thread at the time with people debating whether it should be a red or yellow for either of those incidients. Just because YOU think one incident should be a red and one should be a yellow doesn't make it so. Castleford fans should have spent the game booing their players for not being able to hold onto a ball.
  8. Not sure how you can decide that you won't be buying a ST NEXT YEAR for rules that haven't been implemented yet.
  9. Just a lazy throwaway point of thinking the first round is going to reflect the quality of the rest of the season, as well as disciplinaries going forward. It's the first week of the season, you often get more incidents happening. I have no idea what the Leigh player did, is that the lifting one? I can't say I have watched each individual incident, but from the bans that I have seen, they seem to be justified in the main for the player getting a ban.
  10. You best start talking to the players and telling them to stop hitting each other in the head then.
  11. I would take Sammut over Meadows any day of the week. I am not sure what definition of fire that you use but saying "Meadows was fire" and then saying he did nothing, doesn't make much sense.
  12. So yeah, like we have been saying for the last few posts ... Something that has already been happening in the UK for the last 20 years. Canada isn't the UK, your country seems to be finally catching up with the way Sports and betting has been intertwined for a lot of the world, especially in the last 10 years.
  13. I've had WatchNRL for the last few years - Can't complain about anything really. All broadcasts are done to a high standard.
  14. You just aren't getting anything it seems. I am not sure what mountains of other information could possibly flood our TV screens in future, and neither do you - You're just making up rubbish that has been going on for the last 5 years already.
  15. It is almost like you have never watched live sport before on TV and seen that Sport and Gambling has always been interlinked. In the UK we have adverts at HT (Or we did) giving you odds on the next half of football, who would score first, etc. This isn't a new thing that you are suddenly going on and on about. I'm pretty sure I have seen multiple gambling and betting adverts on NRL's coverage in recent years, showing odds, etc. And again, it literally has nothing to do with scores on live matches. Betting companies already have lots of information that doesn't get given on a live TV game.
  16. You just talk a lot of .. You do realise that RL has been sponsored by a gambling company for the last 10 years or so? I have no idea what you are going on about, but it has absolutely nothing to do with showing live scores in matches.
  17. I don't think gambling companies care if SKY puts up the live scores of other RL matches while showing an RL match. Why would they care whatsoever?
  18. I am not sure this is going to go anywhere - You think it is ridiculous that they say to mute/turn over to avoid football scores before they show MOTD. You may only watch live sport, and that is great for you. Lots of people watch replays of sport. How many channels does TNT have then? I thought they only had 2 on sky, that can't show too many CL games they can spoil. The whole excuse of "all sports show live scores during the matches" In the UK, not all sports are live on TV at the same time when they are giving away those scores. Last year no one complained about Sky showing the results of other games that were going on at the same time, as no one was able to watch those other matches, now they can.
  19. I don't know how big you think the casual audience is for Sky RL compared to diehards. Trying to avoid spoilers has been a thing in sport for as long as I can remember - You don't care if you know the score of something before you watch it, that is completely fine for you, but others don't hold that viewpoint. You keep mentioning other sports like CL on TNT, and how they update for other games going on, can a viewer on TNT switch over to another game? Or do they watch what is being broadcasted? I know my Dad is similar to others on here that were avoiding spoilers, he watched the first half of the Cat - Warrington game, and then first half of Cas - Wigan before going to finish the second half of Cat - Warrington to try and avoid spoilers. I highly doubt there will be masses of people that are surprised that there aren't live score updates coming up on screen, the majority wouldn't notice it I would imagine. If SKY want to point people to other matches, they can say something a long the lines of "it is a close game in X v X" rather than actually giving away the score.
  20. I often find the only people that watch award shows like the BAFTAs, etc are those that are generally interested in the actors/actresses/musicians or those that just want to have a moan about something related to it all.
  21. Think I'm going to stop watching here, so I don't have BBC spoil what the score is in the Cats - Warrington game. Cas actually did perform better than I expected them to, so credit to them for that. They just couldn't hold onto the ball when they were attacking, compared to Wigan who sorted it out and I don't recall many lost balls in the second half from them at all. If Cas were able to hold onto the ball when in those attacking situations, put on the pressure, perhaps they could have scored some points and this game wouldn't be 4 - 32 which perhaps isn't a complete reflection of the game
  22. Oh, and Cas give the ball away again within Wigan's 10 metre line. Wonder if anyone could have predicted that happening
  23. Yeah, I think that probably has a lot more influence on the conclusion of if the pass is forward or not then it should do.
