  1. It seems things might be starting to move again in Russia. They have been actively posting on Instagram all week, apparently a 9s tournament featuring 8 teams is happening today. They posted this link for live streaming, but it does not seem to work for me: https://m.vk.com/video-200149158_456253628?fbclid=PAAabKpZRistkBBqzEzXmduhz_kvF8oT9XV3WCw4RlI6EFv7n6Ls7GCu76sdw First game starts at Midday local time (9am UK)
  2. I think the goalposts are one of the kess important things in developing countries. I have seen countless games played with 'imaginery' posts. The real points are.acored via tries, so goalposts do not matter much. But 5 metres back sounds like it could be easily accommodated. How often does it hit the post anyway?
  3. As I said earlier, majority of them are losing it over an article they have not actually read as it is behind a paywall. The doomsdayers are loving it!
  4. Funny seeing you all losing your sh** over a clickbait paywall article. Some of you are so quick to go into "we're all doomed!" mode too. Early days yet, I believe the French WC will be a success and that all tiers of govt. will contribute varying amounts.
  5. Odd as I know some Aussies (at Skolars funnily enough) who were there on working visas. They had their day jobs in London, and trained and played for the Skolars, which was not their primary source of income. So, loopholes perhaps?
  6. I am pretty sure the simple working visa will be fine. Aussies under the age of 30 are able to get the 2-year working visa quite easily, as are Brits when they go to Aus for work.
  7. This will surely put the fear of God into V'Landys. https://twitter.com/NicaraguaRugby/status/1617119261314650117?s=20&t=jkmMnEqNHcno-e1xiYqfYg
  8. Of course. Like you, I too hate the vague articles. But in fairness, I thought this in this one, they put their cards on the table. How much they achieve now is up to them.
  9. It clearly says they will run coaching clinics in the Netherlands. If that is the only thing that comes of this, then it is already better than 95% of these partnerships we hear about.
  10. Did you click the link? Did you make it as far as the 2nd paragraph? The answer is there.
  11. Excellent video! His accent sounds half Kiwi, half American. I read on the Copperheads' social media that they are sending two trialists. The other one is named Anthony Halikas. But he did bot get a mention in this video/article.
  12. New River Stadium is absolutely fine as long as they are in League One or Championship. Let's hope they get to a position where we are discussing promotion to Super League. But seems unnecessary. I went to a game there about 5 years ago. It was disappointing as it felt like there were about 50 people there, so they definitely have some work to do in building a fan base. I wish them nothing but the best. I also agree that a name change would be good. 'Skolars' I always felt sounded like an academy team name or something.
  13. Looks like a lot of games are being postponed due to the snow. PS: Any news from the French AGM?
  14. No I think there were 6-7 in the entire league and one of them was from Madrid, the Custodians. https://www.facebook.com/custodiansr13 There was also a team from Andalusia involved briefly too at one point, Malaga if I am not mistaken. It was a lot of travel for any non-Valencia team.
  15. Valencia peaked circa 2016 with 5 teams; Torrent Tigers, Peterna Dragons, Xativa Roosters and a couple of others whose names escape me. All teams I believe were dual-code, but still, they were very active att he time. The wheels started to come off pretty soon after and Spanish RL has been in the wilderness ever since.
  16. If a Valencia entity ever does come to fruition, then yes. But the Valencia Huracanes only ever played one match in their very short-lived existence, against Featherstone.
  17. Thanks, I have got it at the point where the fight starts: https://youtu.be/vm1PVDg4KSQ?t=4698 Plenty of haymakers thrown. Watching it back again, I see a trailing knee from Carcassonne #17 may have been what caused it. Problem was, Lezignan lad gets up and punches the wrong player, and that is where it all kicks off.
  18. What minute please? Asking for a friend.
  19. Good luck!! How dod the first season go? Any wins? Any forfeits?
  20. Limoux are flogging Villeneuve. 42-0, 72nd minute.
  21. Read what I said again. I said it is not a deal breaker for me, I still watch matches just fine. I was stating what the ideal would be, especially if they are wanting to attract an audience beyond France.
  22. Using phone while driving!! HA! Is that the best you got?
  23. I agree, it is not essential, but it is ideal. A well-read commentator can make a big difference. It is not so much describing what is happening on the field, but it's also the extra/background info they give you along the way. Something that would be invaluable for the French league as those of us who don't live there, know so little about it. And those of us that avidly do follow it, can still only take that so far, as a lot is either in French or websites are dated etc.
