After yesterdays result it looks like my conflict of interest suggestion could well be correct. With Oldham failing to get promotion then Widnes could end up as the only club in the region in the championship if Swinton go down therefore, reducing the cost of players for Coleman and Widnes.

Heard that Rhodri, Butty, Gregson and Badrock are following Coleman to Widnes. I’ve also heard that Bennion isn’t going.

I'm surprised that Swinton are keeping Coleman on until the end of the season. Surely there's a conflict of interest there. If Swinton get relegated then player availability for Widnes increases and player contract costs decrease due to the smaller number of clubs in the area (possibly just Widnes if Oldham don't get promoted). So it's in Coleman's interest for Swinton to go down. I'm guessing that the club just can't afford to pay him off so would rather shoot themselves in the foot.

I was half expecting us to dual reg with Wigan again with Betts leaving Newcastle. Saints didn't put many players out on dual reg last year, although their agreement was with Leigh who were probably too strong a side to fit in any of young lads from saints.

I heard that Lippy picked up an injury in the world cup. Could be the reason why he hasn't been announced. We look very short in the halves and middles. I think Gregson in the halves was fine for League 1 but, I think we need a more experienced half in the championship.

Heard Matty Wilkinson is going back to Oldham. Also heard we’ve signed or are after Liam Cooper (Whitehaven) and Jake Spedding (Widnes).

I can't really remember him to be honest. But, the Widnes fans seem to be disappointed to see him go. Teams close to promotion tend to offer two deals until promotion is confirmed. A championship deal and a league 1 deal so he may be up for either.

Widnes fans are saying that Kenny Baker has signed for Swinton following his end of season departure. There’s been no news on signings or re-signings so I was wondering if anyone had heard any thing else?

Also heard that Ant Walker was going to Widnes. Heard that a Swinton player has signed for Widnes too.
