A game littered with errors and penalties by both teams. First hit out for Acorn and I think only the 2nd for Orrel so that could help explain that to be fair. A 50 minute hold up for a dislocated knee to Acorn's Luke Swales wouldn't help. Pleased to say coach Josh Mortimer said post game his knee was back in and he was walking about in the bar on crutches.

I just heard Sharron this morning saying on Radio York that Clint will be on their Sports show on Tuesday to preview the new season. It starts at 600pm. A couple of snippets whilst I'm on here. I noticed this morning that Midland Hurricanes lost 24-20 to a young Wigan side yesterday. Jason Bass scored a couple of tries for the Hurricanes and Jon Luke Kirby also scored one.

David's funeral details have just been announced. They are: January 23rd at York Crematorium at 140pm then afterwards 230pm at the Marcia in Bishopthorpe.

I'm so sorry to have to post on here the shock news of the death earlier today of my good friend and friend of many many more, David Kendall. David, a former bank manager for Barclays Bank and an after dinner speaker of some renown, compared the ex players lunches for many years and spoke at many York R.L. functions. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Dave.

Like someone mentioned, there was a guy rumoured to have joined the Knights a few weeks ago but it's all gone quiet. He's 6ft. 2inches tall and weighs 16st. 7llbs but he's a winger! I wonder if he'd fancy a change of position.

Reading the League Express this week an interesting little snippet caught my eye. The report on the Germany v Holland international match played last weekend in Germany named the teams and low and behold the loose forward for Germany was Jimmy Keinhorst who, incidentally, "was again impressive".

On the Our League App it says our fixtures are announced on December 3rd and the season starts with the 1895 Cup games on the weekend of January 27th/28th.

At the forum last month a friend of mine asked Clint if we'd signed Myler as he'd seen Clint walking out of a coffee shop with him at Vangard a few weeks before. Clint replied that he knew Gary Schofield but just because he might have a coffee with him doesn't mean he's signed him! As we remarked to each other afterwards, Clint didn't deny he'd signed Myler and sure enough, we got yesterday's brilliant announcement!! P.S. I'm telling you all this because a good mate of mine for 60 years lives in Perth, in Kenwick, and he finds it tough to get to any forums as well!!

I've just read an interesting piece on "Love Rugby League" about our old friend Riley Dean. He's just been released by Warrington to "pursue an opportunity" in Australia. I think I read somewhere yesterday he was joining a country team over there. He seems a bit of a strange case to me. I thought he was quite promising when I first saw him then he didn't do bad at Fev. but Warrington don't seem to want him and he's had 4 different clubs on loan yet he's only 22. It makes me wonder why. Maybe just got itchy feet.
