  1. While I’m not saying the stadium is fit for purpose at wakey, to say no upgrades have been done and wakey have made no efforts is false. from memory: The boxes were added early in SL tenure or to prepare for SL tenure. The roofing added to the north stand and part of west stand. there have been I believe some work (though I believe enforced) on the ground from a health and safety perspective. Think these were foundation works but I honestly can’t remember. now I’m not saying the ground is fit for purpose but with a limited budget and little success in the league
  2. No Jowitt, Wood or Battye still. Hampshire is back though which is a boost.
  3. I think sarcasm will be lost on Tommy so I’d save your fingers on typing. Afterall he wants Chris Hill on the wing. Rumour is he’s writing a personal email to Wane with a sure fire team selection to win the World Cup.
  4. This is true but it will be all about Leeds missing stars. Fact is both teams have a handful of players out each. I see this as two pretty even teams on paper. looking forward to it. Hope we go expansive as looking at the teams I think wakey could have more luck attacking the edges.
  5. Kyle Wood - wakefield trinity. Been a very good player second time around. Was with trinity as a young lad in his first stint.
  6. Teams announced. I know the media seems fixated on Leeds but both teams have played 3 in 7 days. Trinity still have 3 isolating (conveniently media reports neglect this). Pitts, Kopzcack and Gwaze isolating. Brough, Arundel, Ashurst, Kaye and Gigot injured. Kirmond and Atkins (not sure if they been granted early release). johnstone, Lyne, Jowitt and Tupou all rested. A lot of young lads stepping in this game. Will be good to see what some of the youngsters can offer. Looking forward to it. On paper Leeds should be favourites but maybe a few pairs
  7. So you say Hull fc are busted with 11 players out but don’t give wakey the same courtesy with 14 players out tonight?? I’m not defending chesters record but you Could say wakey are more “busted’ today.... Not to mention the disruption due to Covid and the full squad having to isolate cutting prep time and team training. It’s not solely down to the coaching team but something needs to change for 2021 season.
  8. Because the track and trace only identified 3 players needed to isolate.....
  9. The validity and effectiveness of the in game track and trace now has to be questioned if the players played vs Catalans and weren’t identified. This could raise a lot of questions around health and safety for the whole of SL and could potentially have significant implications on the season.

  11. Trinity have unavailable the following players. i think Trinity can match anyone in SL on the day with a full team and no injuries but I can’t remember the last time wakey didn’t have an injury crisis. Backs Alex Walker Tom Johnstone Ryan Atkins Joe Arundel BJB Liam Kaye Lee Kershaw HB Danny Brough Forwards David Fifita Jay Pitts Adam Tangata (think he took a knock vs Catalans but maybe wrong). plus 2 players returning from injury in match day squad in Green and Gigot. Thats a full
  12. This is spot on as a wakey fan. His defence and his catching is top draw but he most certainly does check his run and struggles to find that pass that exposes the defences out wide. With the centres and wingers we have he needs to find that fluidity fast. This will determine if he remains a standard superleague full back or a great full back. Personally, Jowitt was looking very good before COVID hit and put in some really good performances. Chester will have a headache choosing between them. Happy with the Gigot signing.
  13. I think it’s testament to the depth wakey have with the injury crisis that they can keep putting wins on the board. i get what you say about the forwards but Huby England Ashurst Batchelor Hirst Annakin (injured pre match) Arona (injured 20 mins in) The strength in depth this year has been sorely tested and so far passing the test. Thats a full SL standard pack missing tonight. Adding Brough, Miller, Johnstone, Tupou, Arundel i can’t begin to describe how proud I am of my team this past few weeks. We could easily collapse but the
